      • Hypoxia-Responsive MicroRNA-101 Promotes Angiogenesis <i>via</i> Heme Oxygenase-1/Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Axis by Targeting Cullin 3

        <P>Aims: Hypoxia induces expression of various genes and microRNAs (miRs) that regulate angiogenesis and vascular function. In this study, we investigated a new functional role of new hypoxia-responsive miR-101 in angiogenesis and its underlying mechanism for regulating heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression. Results: We found that hypoxia induced miR-101, which binds to the 3 ' untranslated region of cullin 3 (Cul3) and stabilizes nuclear factor erythroid-derived 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) via inhibition of the proteasomal degradation pathway. miR-101 overexpression promoted Nrf2 nuclear accumulation, which was accompanied with increases in HO-1 induction, VEGF expression, and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS)-derived nitric oxide (NO) production. The elevated NO-induced S-nitrosylation of Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 and subsequent induction of Nrf2-dependent HO-1 lead to further elevation of VEGF production via a positive feedback loop between the Nrf2/HO-1 and VEGF/eNOS axes. Moreover, miR-101 promoted angiogenic signals and angiogenesis both in vitro and in vivo, and these events were attenuated by inhibiting the biological activity of HO-1, VEGF, or eNOS. Moreover, these effects were also observed in aortic rings from HO-1(+/-) and eNOS(-/-) mice. Local overexpression of miR-101 improved therapeutic angiogenesis and perfusion recovery in the ischemic mouse hindlimb, whereas antagomiR-101 diminished regional blood flow. Innovation: Hypoxia-responsive miR-101 stimulates angiogenesis by activating the HO-1/VEGF/eNOS axis via Cul3 targeting. Thus, miR-101 is a novel angiomir. Conclusion: Our results provide new mechanistic insights into a functional role of miR-101 as a potential therapeutic target in angiogenesis and vascular remodeling. Antioxid. The purpose of this study is development of posture evaluation and Range of Motion(ROM) system by using digital vision analysis method. The results of this study are as follows. First, Scoliosis evaluation through this research measurement system represent 3mm error in 7 cervical point and deepest lumbar point, 0.7mm error in other point. This mean this research measurement system have a reliability for scoliosis evaluation. Second, for spine line evaluation on high fat subject, we need reconstrection spine line after mesurement for fat thickness in 7 cervical point and deepest lumbar point. Third, In pedioscope error test, it present 0.01848cm in X axis and 0.01757cm in Y axis. This results mean pedioscope have a reliability foot evaluation. Forth, Posture evaluation and Range of Motion measurement system by using digital vision analysis method can fast measure in range of motion and foot evaluation and posture. therefore we can expect this system application in young people posture clinic center and hospital and so on.

      • Antioxidant and cytoprotective effects of morin against hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress are associated with the induction of Nrf-2-mediated HO-1 expression in V79-4 Chinese hamster lung fibroblasts

        <P>Natural phytochemicals of plant origin, including flavonoids, have been found to be potent antioxidants providing beneficial effects against oxidative stress-related diseases. The present study was carried out to investigate the antioxidant properties of morin, a flavonoid originally isolated from the flowering plants of the Moraceae family. Superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like activity and 2,2'-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS(center dot+)) radical scavenging activity were determined. We also investigated the cytoprotective effects of morin against hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-induced DNA damage and apoptosis in V79-4 Chinese hamster lung fibroblasts. Our results demonstrated that morin had strong scavenging effects against ABTS' radicals with enhanced SOD activity, which varied in a dose-dependent manner. Morin was found to reduce H2O2-induced intracellular reactive oxygen species generation and nuclear DNA damage, and it recovered cell viability damaged by H2O2 via inhibition of mitochondrial dysfunction-mediated apoptosis. Notably, the treatment of V79-4 cells with morin markedly enhanced the expression of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) but not quinone oxidoreductase-1, which was associated with the increased expression and phosphorylation of nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) and the downregulation of Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 expression. Based on our findings, we conclude that morin effectively ameliorated oxidative stress-induced DNA damage through intrinsic free radical scavenging activity and activation of the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway.</P>

        Validation of the oxford classification of iga nephropathy: A Single-Center Study in Korean Adults

        Background/Aims: The recently published Oxford classification of IgA nephropathy (IgAN) proposed a split system for histological grading, based on prognostic pathological features. This new classification system must be validated in a variety of cohorts. We investigated whether these pathological features were applicable to an adult Korean population. Methods: In total, 69 adult Korean patients with IgAN were analyzed using the Oxford classification system at Soonchunhyang University Hospital, Seoul, Korea. All cases were categorized according to Lee`s classification. Renal biopsies from all patients were scored by a pathologist who was blinded to the clinical data for pathological variables. Inclusion criteria were age greater than 18 years and at least 36 months of follow-up. We excluded cases with secondary IgAN, diabetic nephropathy combined other glomerulopathies, less than 36 months of follow-up, and those that progressed rapidly. Results: The median age of the patients was 34 years (range, 27 to 45). Mean arterial blood pressure was 97 ± 10 mmHg at the time of biopsy. The median follow-up period was 85 months (range, 60 to 114). Kaplan-Meier analysis showed significant prognostic predictions for M, E, and T lesions. A Cox proportional hazard regression analysis also revealed prognostic predictions for E and T lesions. Conclusions: Using the Oxford classification in IgAN, E, and T lesions predicted renal outcome in Korean adults after taking clinical variables into account.

        30-40대 남성들의 패션 라이프스타일 요인이 외모관리행동에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of fashion life style factors on appearance management behavior and to show how self-monitoring influences appearance management behaviors. Subjects for the study were men aged in their thirties and forties living in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. For the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted using convenience samples. A total number of 370 questionnaires were used for data analysis. For statistical analysis, factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results of this study indicated that a fashion lifestyle was composed of four factors-fashion/appearance-oriented factor, ostentation-oriented factor, rational consumption- oriented factor, and dignity-oriented factor. The dependent variable of the study was appearance management behavior. Appearance management behavior consisted of interest in skin care and interest in fashion. A statistical analysis of multiple regression revealed that a fashion life style significantly influenced interest in skin care and interest in fashion. When subjects were categorized into two groups by self-monitoring, both respondents with high and low self-monitoring showed that fashion/appearance oriented factors significantly influenced interest in skin care. Fashion/appearance oriented factor influenced interest in skin care more for the subjects with high self-monitoring than for those with low self-monitoring. In contrast, fashion/appearance oriented factors had greater influence on interest in fashion for those subjects with low self-monitoring than those with high self-monitoring.

        탁구 경기내용분석 프로그램 개발

        연구의 목적은 .탁구 전용 경기내용분석프로그램을 개발하는데 있다. 본 연구의 프로그램은 이순호(2007)의 연구를 기반으로 탁구 전용 경기내용 분석 프로그램으로 개발하였다. 탁구 경기내용분석 프로그램은 실시간으로 영상촬영 혹은 비디오테이프나 디지털 영상자료를 재생하면서 경기내용을 분석하며, 경기내용분석은 1차적 분석과 2차적인 세부내용 분석으로 구분하였다. 1차적 분석은 경기현장에서 경기를 촬영하면서 실시간으로 분석하고, 경기종료와 함께 지도자와 선수에게 피드백을 하는 목적으로 간략한 서비스와 리시브 그리고 득점 의 요인을 분석하는 기능이다. 2차 분석은 1차 분석 결과를 바탕으로 각 랠리의 공격 기술과 구질, 코스 등의 세부요인을 분석한다. 분석결과 보기는 현장에서 지도자와 선수들이 다양한 패턴으로 검토할 수 있도록 공격구질 및 득점 구질의 비율과 분포, 공격과 리시브의 지역 및 코스 등을 제시하였다. 각 득실점 포인트는 서비스에서 득점에 이르는 랠리의 시뮬레이션을 보여주면서 이에 해당되는 동영상 구간도 함께 재생시키는 기능을 개발하였다. 경기전체의 개괄적인 경기결과는 세트별 경기결과, 세트별 득점과 실점의 구질 결과를 제시하였다. 세부적인 경기결과는 기술 구질에 따른 득점조건, 구사한 구질별 공격 지역 그리고 리시브 지역에 따른 공격지역으로 세분화하여 제시하였다. 구질 및 득실점 조건은 서비스 구질 및 득/실점, 리시브 구질 및 득/실점, 3구 혹은 이상 득/실점을 제시하였다. 구질별 공격지역은 서비스 득점 구질별 공격지역, 리시브 득점 구질별 공격지역 그리고 3구 혹은 이상 득실을 제시하였다. 리시브 지역별 공격지역은 리시브 득점지역에 따른 공격지역, 3구 이상 득점의 리시브 지역에 따른 공격지역을 제시하였다. 이러한 경기결과들은 텍스트 파일로 변환하여 전송할 수 있다. 또한 분석프로그램은 통합검색 기능에 의해 동영상 및 경기분석결과 요인을 키워드에 의해 검색하고 찾을 수 있다. 탁구경기분석 프로그램은 2008베이징 올림픽을 대비하여 우리나라 대표선수들의 경쟁상대국가(12개 국가)의 주전선수들을 대상으로 120여개의 경기영상자료를 분석하였고, 이를 현장지원으로 활용하였다. 또한 이러한 분석과정에서 나타난 다양한 문제점이나 현장성을 높일 수 있는 환경과 조건을 최적화하도록 연속적으로 업그레이드하였고 프로그램을 안정화하였다. The purpose of this study was to develop an analysis program for table tennis competitions. This analysis program for table tennis competitions was developed based on Lee`s(2007). To analyze table tennis game contents, photographing, tape and digital data were used. The game contents were divided into two parts, the first analysis and the second analysis. In the first part only service, receive and gain condition were analyzed to provide real-time feedback of competition. Specific skills and offense courses were analyzed in the second part. The results were as followed. Viewing had sub-categories which were composed of offense skill, score ration and distribution, area and offense and receive course. Each score and error point were able to be simulated in the movies from serve and score. Also, a Re-paly button to create the section of movie was made. The whole event results were presented in game results, set scores and error points. The specific results of the event were presented in point condition by skill, offense area by skill, and offense area by receive area. Offense skill and point and error condition and error were presented in serve type and point/error, receive type and point/error, third ball or over point/error. Offense area by skill was presented in offense area by serve point skill, offense area by receive point skill, and third ball or over point/error. Offense area by receive area was presented in offense area by receive point area, offense area by receive area in point of third ball or over. These results are able to be converted in text file and be export. Also, the analysis program video can look up movies and game analysis results factor by file search function. This program was practically used to analyze main rival players for the 2008 Olympic Games, and updated for optimization and stabilization to apply it for the practice.

      • 전격성 경과를 취한 만성 호산구성 폐렴 환자 1예

        Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia(CEP) is a rare disease of unknown etiology characterized by chronic infiltration of the lung with eosinophils. It presents with profound systemic symptoms comprising fever, night sweats, weight loss, dyspnea and blood eosinophilia with nonsegmental air-space consolidation confined to the outer third of the lung, the "photographic negative of pulmonary edema". Histopathologic features of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia are intraalveolar and interstitial infiltrations with eosinophils, histiocytes, giant cells, scattered lymphocytes and plasma cells. Glucocorticoid therapy cause prompt resolution of symptoms as well as disappearans of blood eosinophils, elevated serum Ig E levels and the roentgenographic lesions. Infrequent radiographic findings include nodular infiltrates, consolidations, cavitations, atelectasis and pleural effusions. Deaths from CEP although rare, have been reported, but the majorities of CEP have benign courses and do not need a therapy with ventilator. We report a case of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia, which had a sudden course associated with diffuse pneumonic consolidations on the both lung and bilateral pleural effusion.

        광중합형 구치부 수복재료의 중합수축량과 중합수축력

        The purpose of present study was to evaluate the polymerization shrinkage stress and amount of linear shrinkage of composites and compomers for posterior restoration. For this purpose, linear polymerization shrinkage and polymerization stress were measured. For linear polymerization shrinkage and polymerization stress measurement, custom made Linometer (R&B, Daejon, Korea) and Stress measuring machine was used (R&B, Daejon, Korea). Compositers and compomers were evaluated; Dyract AP (Dentsply Detrey, Gumbh, German) Z100 (3M Dental Products, St. Paul, USA) Pyramid (Bisco, Schaumburg, USA) Synergy Compact (Coltene, Altstatten, Switzerland), Heliomolar (Vivadent/Ivoclar, Liechtenstein), and Compoglass (Vivadent Ivoclar/Liechtenstein) were used. 15 measurements were made for each material. Linear polymerization shrinkage or polymerization stress for each material was compared with one way ANOVA with Tukey at 95% levels of confidence. For linear shrinkage ; Heliomolar, Surefil<Synergy Compact, Z100<Dyract AP<Pyramid, Compoglass F (p<0.05) For Shrinkage stress ; Heliomolar < Z100, Pyramid<Synergy Compact, Compoglass F<Dyract AP<Heliomolar HB, Surefil (p<0.05)

        크롬(Ⅵ)의 체내 흡수와 소실속도에 관한 연구

        The CrO3 mostly used in plating. metal surface disposal, leather, cosmetic manufacturing, as an experiment material by repeatedly inhaling and exposure the male S.D. rats at a 0.00, 0.2., 0.50, 1.25 mg/㎡ concentration(particle size: 0.5-0.5 aerosol)6hours a day, 5day a week in 13weeks comparing with 2weeks, 8weeks of recovery group about the noxiousness of the experiment animal and the reduce scale of the CrO3 in the internal organ especially in blook and respiratory organ with the period of convalescent and clearance. The experiment results which we received are as follows. 1. In blood the RBC, HGB and HCT experiment, rats with 0.20, 0.50 mg/㎡ concentration showed that there were some decreases but not dependent. The kidneys absolute weight compared with control group was reduced intentionally(p〈0.05) and the lungs absolute weight compared with control group showed intentional increase(p〉0.05). 2. After the exposure of the experiment material, the whole blook, l\blood plasma and red blood cell in blood by (x): the period of convalescent, per (y); the decreasing of Cr concentration, was y=66.51 e -0.057x, y=67.2 e-0.101x, y=70.01 e-0.030 in 0.50 mg/㎡ exposure concentration by calculating the clearance coefficient of correlation, and the half life (day)was estimated 12.0, 6086, 23.0 each. 3, After the exposure of the experiment material, the experiment animals lung, liver and kidneys by(x); the period of convalescent, per (y); the decreasing of Cr conentration, was y=1808 e-0.00493x, y=12.02e-0.0297x, y=67.61 e-0.0292x in 0.50mg/㎡ exposure concentration by calculating the clearance coefficient of correlation, and the half life(day)was estimated 140.6, 23.3, 23.7, each, and including lung, liver with all of the experiment internal organs, the Cr clearance decreased as the exposure concentration increased.
