Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of 2 endoscopic spine surgeries on the biomechanical properties of normal and osteoporotic spines. Methods: Based on computed tomography images of a healthy adult volunteer, 6 finite element models were created. After validating the normal intact model, a concentrated force of 400 N and a moment of 7.5 Nm were exerted on the upper surface of L3 to simulate 6 physiological activities of the spine. Five types of indices were used to assess the biomechanical properties of the 6 models, range of motion (ROM), maximum displacement value, intervertebral disc stress, maximum stress value, and articular protrusion stress, and by combining them with finite element stress cloud. Results: In normal and osteoporotic spines, there was no meaningful change in ROM or disc stress in the 2 surgical models for the 6 motion states. Model N1 (osteoporotic percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy model) showed a decrease in maximum displacement value of 20.28% in right lateral bending. Model M2 (unilateral biportal endoscopic model) increased maximum displacement values of 16.88% and 17.82% during left and right lateral bending, respectively. The maximum stress value of L4–5 increased by 11.72% for model M2 during left rotation. In addition, using the same surgical approach, ROM, maximum displacement values, disc stress, and maximum stress values were more significant in the osteoporotic model than in the normal model. Conclusion: In both normal and osteoporotic spines, both surgical approaches were less disruptive to the physiologic structure of the spine. Furthermore, using the same endoscopic spine surgery, normal spine biomechanical properties are superior to osteoporotic spines.

Objective: This research aimed to study the effects of Artemisia argyi flavonoids (AAF) supplemented in diets on the growth performance and immune function of broiler chickens challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Methods: A total of one hundred and ninety-two 1-d-old broiler chicks were assigned into 4 treatment groups, which were, respectively, fed a basal diet (control), fed a diet with 750 mg/kg AAF, fed a basal diet, and challenged with LPS, fed a diet with 750 mg/kg AAF, and challenged with LPS. Each treatment had six pens with 8 chicks per pen. On days 14, 16, 18, 20 (stress phase I) and 28, 30, 32, 34 (stress phase II), broilers were injected with LPS (500 ㎍/kg body weight) or an equivalent amount of saline. Results: The results demonstrated that dietary AAF significantly improved the body weight (d 21) and alleviated the decrease of average daily gain in broilers challenged with LPS on d 21 and d 35 (p<0.05). Dietary AAF increased bursa fabricius index, and dramatically attenuated the elevation of spleen index caused by LPS on d 35 (p<0.05). Furthermore, serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) concentration decreased with AAF supplementation on d 21 (p<0.05). Diet treatment and LPS challenge exhibited a significant interaction for the concentration of IL-1β (d 21) and IL-6 (d 35) in serum (p<0.05). Additionally, AAF supplementation mitigated the increase of IL-1β, IL-6 in liver and spleen induced by LPS on d 21 and 35 (p<0.05). This study also showed that AAF supplementation significantly reduced the expression of IL-1β (d 21) and nuclear transcription factor kappa-B p65 (d 21 and 35) in liver (p<0.05), and dietary AAF and LPS treatment exhibited significant interaction for the gene expression of IL-6 (d 21), toll like receptor 4 (d 35) and myeloid differentiation factor 88 (d 35) in spleen (p<0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, AAF could be used as a potential natural immunomodulator to improve growth performance and alleviate immune stress in broilers challenged with LPS.
The Research on Prediction Models for Urban Family Member Trip Generation
Shuo Yang,Wei Deng,Qionghua Deng,Pengming Fu 대한토목학회 2016 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.20 No.7
This paper validates the hypothesis that head of household’s attributes and travel behavior having effects on other family members’ trip frequency in the same household. With using Multinomial Logit Model (MNL) and data source obtained from Resident Trip Survey in Nanjing, 2010, it shows that other family members’ trip frequency are much more relative to head of household’s. Therefore, we propose an idea that investigates the potential possibility of using Multinomial Logit model (MNL) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) to predict other family members’ trip frequency with household’s information. By comparing the prediction accuracy, it is found that the SVM only slightly performs better on overall average accuracy. Then a modified SVM model with significant variables estimated by MNL model is given. The results report that, modified SVM model not only performs better on overall average accuracy than general SVM model and MNL model, but significantly improves partial average accuracy compared with general SVM model. However, the modified SVM still expectedly has a poor performance on predicting for small proportion samples. In the end, some possible improvements are discussed as well as expectation for further studies.

Background/Aims: Binge drinking leads to many disorders, including alcoholic hepatosteatosis, which is characterized by intrahepatic neutrophil infiltration and increases the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Molecular mechanisms may involve the migration of bacterial metabolites from the gut to the liver and the activation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs). Methods: Serum samples from both binge drinking and alcohol-avoiding patients were analyzed. Mouse models of chronic plus binge alcohol-induced hepatosteatosis and HCC models were used. Results: A marker of NETs formation, lipopolysaccharide (LPS), was significantly higher in alcoholic hepatosteatosis and HCC patients and mice than in controls. Intrahepatic inflammation markers and HCC-related cytokines were decreased in mice with reduced NET formation due to neutrophil elastase (NE) deletion, and liver-related symptoms of alcohol were also alleviated in NE knockout mice. Removal of intestinal bacteria with antibiotics led to decreases in markers of NETs formation and inflammatory cytokines upon chronic alcohol consumption, and development of alcoholic hepatosteatosis and HCC was also attenuated. These functions were restored upon supplementation with the bacterial product LPS. When mice lacking toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) received chronic alcohol feeding, intrahepatic markers of NETs formation decreased, and hepatosteatosis and HCC were alleviated. Conclusions: Formation of NETs following LPS stimulation of TLR4 upon chronic alcohol use leads to increased alcoholic steatosis and subsequent HCC.

Yang Shuo,Seoksoo Kim,Minho Kim 중소기업융합학회 2015 중소기업융합학회 국제학술대회논문집 Vol.2 No.1
Recently, immersive edutainment system using augmented reality and transparent displays are researched. However, in the case of edutainment system using augmented reality due to the incongruity of lighting conditions, the lighting and the virtual environment of the real environment during the synthesis video room has a low sensitivity issues. In this paper, we designed a Tangible edutainment system for synthesizing a block layer, which contains a three-dimensional illumination information of the real environment in order to solve this problem.
Vibration suppression of a dual-rotorbearing coupled system by using a nonlinear energy sink
Yang Yang,Yuanyuan Li,Shuo Zhang 대한기계학회 2021 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.35 No.6
The aim of this paper is to gain insight into dynamic characteristics of a dualrotor system in the absence and presence of a nonlinear energy sink. Firstly, the governing equations of motion of the dual-rotor system are derived by the Lagrange’s equation. Then the dynamic characteristics of the system in the different conditions of rotational speed ratio are investigated. On this basis, a nonlinear energy sink is introduced in the LP rotor, where the effects of rotational speed ratio on the optimization of control parameters are taken into account. At last, the vibration suppression of the dual-rotor system is carried out. Moreover, the parameters analysis of the system is accomplished as well.
A Novel Parallel Dual-frequency Grid-connected Inverter Topology and EfficiencyAnalysis
Liyong Yang,Aoyu Chang,Shuo Liu,Yuan Wang,Dixi Xin,Xu Xie,Shuo Han 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
A novel parallel dual-frequency single-phase grid-connected inverter (PDF inverter) is proposed to improve the quality of the output current and reduce the loss of the grid-connected inverter. In the PDF inverter, there are two units which operate at different switching frequencies. The low-frequency unit has a low switching frequency (2kHz), which transfers electrical energy to the grid. The highfrequency unit operate at a high switching frequency (40kHz), and its current is reversed to the harmonic current of the low-frequency power unit. The principle and control strategy of the novel grid-connected inverter is presented. And the comparison of power loss of two inverters shows that the novel grid-connected inverter has higher efficiency than the LCL-type grid-connected inverter. These capabilities have been demonstrated by mathematical derivation and experiment. For the experiments, a 1500-W prototype has been built in the laboratory. Results obtained confirm the practicality and performance of the proposed inverter.

Low elastic polymer microsphere (L-EPM) has been proposed as a functional polymer microsphere theseyears. L-EMP has the excellent deformation ability in the porous medium due to the low storage modulus. Herein, one kind of L-EPM with storage modulus (G0) of 23.6 Pa was prepared by inverse suspensionpolymerization. The shear resistance of L-EPM was researched by using coreflooding experiment andhigh shear rate emulsifier. The conformance control behavior of L-EPM was investigated by using doubleparallel sandpackflooding experiment. The results showed that L-EPM was a kind of swollen particle gelwith three-dimensional net structure and contained amide, carboxyl, and sulfonate groups. Themechanism of water swelling property was mainly due to the formation of hydrogen bonds, hydrolysis ofhydrophilic groups and the diffusion caused by osmotic pressure difference. Compared with high elasticpolymer microspheres (H-EPM) and low elastic preformed particle gel (L-PPG), L-EPM had better shearresistance in the porous medium and the well casing perforation. In addition, the critical shear points ofL-EPM was proposed in this work. Due to the better shear resistance and deformation ability, theconformance control behavior of L-EPM showed that L-EPM was a promising conformance control agentin the heterogeneous reservoirs.
