        Selective Reduction of Orgainc Compounds with Al-Fluorodiisobutylalane Jin Soon Cha† and Seung Jin Park

        The new MPV-type reagent, Al-fluorodiisobutylalane (DIBAF), has been prepared and their reducing characteristics in the reduction of selected organic compounds containing representative functional groups have been examined in order to find out a new reducing system with unique applicability in organic synthesis. In general, the reagent is extremely mild, showing only reactivity toward aldehydes, ketones, and epoxides. The reagent achives a clean 1,2-reduction of enals to the corresponding allylic alcohols in a 100% purity, but shows no reactivity toward enones. The reagent also shows an excellent regioselective cleavage of substituted epoxides. In addition, DIBAF produces the thermodynamically more stable alcohol epimer in high stereoselectivity in the reduction of cyclic ketones

        Physical therapists have been using balance and weight shifting training to induce improvements in standing and walking. This study compared the effects of kinetic feedback frequency and concurrent kinetic feedback on the performance and learning of a weight shifting skill in young, nondisabled adults. Sixteen young adults without known impairment of the neuromusculoskeletal system volunteered for the study. Subjects in each of three kinetic feedback groups performed a weight shifting task in an attempt to minimize error between their effort and a center of pressure (COP) template for a 12 second period. Feedback was provided: 1) concurrently (concurrent feedback), 2) after each trial (100% feedback), 3) after ever other trial (50% feedback). Immediate and delayed (24 hous) retention tests were performed without feedback. During ascquistion phase, the concurrent feedback group exhibited less error than either of the post response feedback group. For the immediate retention test, the 50% feedback group exhibited less error than did the 100% feedback and concurrent feedback. During the delayed retention, 50% feedback group displayed less error than did the other groups. But no significant differences were found between groups. these results suggest that practice with concurrent feedback is beneficial for the immediate performance, but not for the learning of this weight shifting skill. Lower frequency of feedback resulted in more permanent changes in the subject's ability to complete the task.

        The one-electron theory of atoms, molecules, and crystals have enjoyed a wide success in many branches of physics. This theory provides a physically appealing description of the electronic structure of many-electron systems. In addition, this theory gives a convenient basis for performing the detailed calculation on specific many-electron systems. In such calculations, it is usually necessary to introduce many simplified assumptions in order to make a progress. Since the principal computational difficulty supposed by the Hartree-Fock equations is the treatment of the exchange term, it would be very desirable to simplify the treatment of these terms by using Slater's average of the exchange potential. The first order correction of energy in the lowest excited states of He atom is calculated by using the unperturbed wave function obtained with the Hartree-Fock-Slater approximation and compared with the result obtained by the simple analytical method. The numerical results agrees with an experimental results for the lowest excited states of He atom with tolerance 3.22%, 2.16%, 2.94% and 3.41%. These results show that the numerical analysis can be applied to other multielectron atoms with the personal computer.

        젊은 성인에서 신체 만족도에 따른 문제해결양식, 대인관계문제와 우울증상과 자살사고와의 관련성

        Objectives:The aim of this study was to evaluate that problem solving styles, interpersonal problems, depression and suicidal ideation according to body image satisfaction. Methods:One hundred and nineteen young healthy normal subjects filled out administered the Body Dysmorphic Disorder Examination-Self Report (Korean version of BDDE-SR K-BDDE-SR), Problem Solving Style Scale(Korean version PSS), Korean Inventory of Interpersonal Problem(KIIP), Korean version of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale(KDASS-21), Korean version of Beck Scale for Suicidal Ideation(Korean version SSI) and Korean version of Reynolds Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire(Korean version SIQ) for a month. Results:Out of the 119 subjects, 39%(N=46) was male and 61%(N=73) was female. In high K-BDDE-SR group (higher than 67), helplessness was significantly higher than low K-BDDE-SR group(lower than 67), and problem-solving confidence, creative style, approach style were significantly lower than low K-BDDE-SR group. Also, Higher level of all KIIP factors in High K-BDDE-SR group was significantly differ than low K-BDDE-SR group. In High K-BDDE-SR group, K-DASS-21, SSI, and SIQ were significantly higher than low K-BDDE-SR group. Using multiple regression analysis contributing variance toward the total factor score of K-BDDE-SR of participants were K-DASS-21 and SIQ. Conclusion:Our results indicates that high tendency of dissatisfied body images have differences in helplessness, problem-solving confidence, approach style, interpersonal problems, depression and suicidal ideation compared to low tendency of dissatisfied body images. It is necessary to study body dysmorphic disorder patients group in the future.

        흰쥐에서 니켈 및 카드뮴의 동시노출이 간에 미치는 영향

        목적 : 이 연구는 적출간 관류법을 이용하여 영화니켈과 염화카드뮴의 동시 노출로 인하여 간에 나타나는 효과를 확인하는 데에 있다. 방법 : 간독성의 지표로서 AST, ALT, LDH의 농도 및 관류속도를 이용하였고 생존력에 대한 지표로서 산소소모율을 측정하였다. 300(±50) g의 흰쥐를 노출군(비노출군 및 50 μM/ 200 μM의 각 농도별 염화니켈과 염화카드뮴의 개별 투여군 및 동시 투여군)별로 5마리씩 총 35마리를 할당하였다. 간을 통과한 관류액을 채취하여 생화학적 간독성 지표를 측정했고 집단간의 시간의 경과에 따른 측정치의 비교를 위해 반복 측정된 2요인 분산분석을 실시하였다. 개별 투여군과 동시 투여군의 생화학적 지표간의 평균을 비교함으로써 상승효과에 대한 가능성을 확인했다. 결과 : 개별 투여군 및 동시 투여군 모두에서 AST, ALT, LDH가 증가했다. 관류속도 및 산소 소모율은 시간의 경과에 따라 감소했으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지는 못했다. AST, ALT, LDH, 산소소모율이 일정 시간대 이후로 개별 노출군의 합보다 동시 노출군에서의 측정치가 더욱 크게 증가하였다. 결론 : 간독성에 대한 생화학적 지표의 변화를 확인함으로써 두 물질의 동시노출로 인한 복합적 효과는 상승효과일 가능성이 높은 것으로 보인다. Objectives : This research was intended to verify hepatic effect of simutaneously com-bined exposure of nickel chloride and cadmium chloride with IPRL (Isolated Perfumed Rat Liver) method. Methods : AST(aspartate aminotransferase), ALT(alanine aminotransferase), LDH (lac-tate dehydrogenase) and perfusion flow rate were used as the indicator of hepatotoxicity and oxygen consumption rate were used as the indicator of viability. 300(±50) g - weighted rats were allocated randomly to each group (control group, 50 μM·200 μM sera-rately exposure group of NiCl₂and CdCl₂, simultaneously combined exposure group of NiCl₂and CdCl₂by 5, totally 35. Buffer which got out of liver was sampled and then biochemical indicator of hepatotoxlcity was measured. In order to verify difference among groups, two way - repeated ANOVA was used. With comparing mean summation of sepa-rate exposure group with mean of simultaneous exposure group, possibility that combined effect could be synergistic effect was verified. Results : AST, ALT, LDH increased in both of separate exposure group and simultaneous exposure group. Perfusion flow rate and oxygen consumption rate decreased but statlstically significant difference among groups was not found. In each exposure group, AST, ALT, 7DH, oxygen consumption rate of simultaneous exposure group increased more than sum of separate exposure group after any sampling time. Conclusions : It was found that simultaneous combined effect could be synergistic effect through the biochemical indicator of hepatotoxicity.

      • 고차스펙트럼 해석법을 이용한 비선형 기계적 시스템에 관한 연구

        In this paper higher order spectral techniques are applied to some simple mechanical systems. The system studied is the nonlinear magnetic beam. This is a simply supported beam, driven by an electromagnetic shaker. At the free end, pairs of repelling magnets are placed. By varying the position and number of magnets, the nature of the nonlinearity can be changed, be it skewed or symmetric, and by varying the distance between the magnets the strength of the nonlinearity can also be altered. Using this controllable system, auto higher order spectral methods are applied, assuming only a knowledge of an output signal.

        The scattering cross section in model atom is the physical quantity which is susceptible of a reasonably direct experimental measurement and which at the same time lends itself readily to calculation, and which establish contact between scattering theory and scattering experiment to assist each other. We have calculated the differential cross section and total cross sections of electrons by targets which are Cu, S, He, Ne, Ar on the ground state without the targets distortion with the Born approximation and the Eikonal approximation. the electron energies are in the range up to about 1.3 ev∼10 kev. The potential used to represent the interaction between atom and electron in our calculation is the same as that is used by Lens-Jensen in the evaluation of the cross-sections. We used the Gauss Legndre quadrature for our numerical integration in our differential equations.

        하악골에 발생한 골막 골육종

        Periosteal osteosarcoma is a distinct entity of malignant bone tumor with characteristic clinical, morphological, and histological features within the group of juxtacortical osteosarcoma. Periosteal osteosarcoma is predominantly located in the tubular long bones, and extremely rarely involving the jaws. A case of periosteal osteosarcoma of the right mandible is presented. A 27-year-old woman complained of the gingival swelling and bleeding tendency of the right posterior mandible. Clinical examination revealed a reddish brown strawberry-like swelling on the affected mucosa, which measured 1.5㎝×1.5㎝. The tumor was located on the lingual cortex of the mandible and extended into the surrounding soft tissues. Microscopically, the tumor consisted exclusively of atypical chondroblastic cells with a small osteoblastic area. A minimal bone marrow involvement was noted and the adjacent cortex was free of tumor. These findings suggested that the tumor originated from the periosteal cambium layer, which lies between the periosteal fibrous layer and the cortex of mandible.
