Impacts of espoused national cultural values on innovation in IT-enabled global sourcing

In this study, we explored the different roles that knowledge sharing and exploitative learning play in employees’ innovative behavior, and investigated the different moderating effects of employees’ espoused national cultural values on the relationship between exploitative learning and innovative behavior in the Chinese IT-enabled global service companies with different ownerships. We proposed a theoretical model to characterize these antecedents of innovative behavior. A structured research survey was conducted and data were collected from a sample of 484 full-time employees in 3 IT-enabled global service-provisioning companies in China. Results indicate that knowledge sharing is positively associated with innovative behavior in multinational corporations and private IT-enabled global service; espoused power distance has a significant positive moderating effect on exploitative learning-innovative behavior relationship in state-owned and private firms; espoused collectivism has a significant moderating effect only in state-owned firms in China.
Some Motifs Were Important for Myostatin Transcriptional Regulation in Sheep (Ovis aries)

Many motifs along the 1.2 kb myostatin promoter (MSTNpro) in sheep have been found by the MatInspecter program in our recent study. To further verify the role of the motifs and better understand the transcriptional regulation mechanism of the myostatin gene in sheep, the reporter gene EGFP (enhanced green fluorescent protein) was selected and the wild-type (W) vector MSTNPro$^W$-EGFP or motif-mutational (M) vector MSTNPro$^M$-EGFP were constructed. The transcriptional regulation activities were analyzed by detecting the fluorescence strength of EGFP in C2C12 myoblasts transfected with the vectors. The results showed that E-box (E) 3, E4, E5 and E7, particularly E3, E5 and E7, had important effects on the activity of the 1.2 kb sheep myostatin promoter. In addition, we also detected several other important motifs such as MTBF (muscle-specific Mt binding factor), MEF2 (myocyte enhancer factor 2), GRE (glucocorticoid response elements) and PRE (progesterone response elements) along the sheep myostatin promoter by the mutational analysis.
Effect of Supplementary Dietary L-carnitine and Yeast Chromium on Lipid Metabolism of Laying Hens

Two hundred and eighty-eight 21-week-old Hyline Brown laying hens were randomly allotted to 9 treatments, 32 birds for each treatment. A 3${\times}$3 (chromium${\times}$L-carnitine) factorial experiment was designed to investigate the single and interactive effects of adding yeast chromium (0, 400 and 600 ${\mu}g/kg$) and L-carnitine (0, 50 and 100 mg/kg) to corn-soybean diets on lipid metabolism of laying hens for 7 weeks. The results showed that 600 ${\mu}g/kg$ chromium or 100 mg/kg L-carnitine had significant effects on most indices of lipid metabolism (p<0.05 or 0.01). There were significant interactions on the concentration of liver triglycerides, egg yolk cholesterol, abdominal fat percentage between chromium and L-carnitine (p=0.0003-0.0500). Adding 400 ${\mu}g/kg$ chromium and 100 mg/kg Lcarnitine simultaneously was the best for reducing egg yolk cholesterol and adding 400 ${\mu}g/kg$ chromium and 50 mg/kg L-carnitine at the same time was the best for reducing abdominal fat percentage. There was no side effect on production performance of laying hens while chromium or (and) L-carnitine reduced liver lipid, abdominal fat and egg yolk cholesterol.

There are different explanations of Que(闕) of Pang(旁) in Shuowenjiezi(說文解字). Scholars not only had different understanding of the cause of its creation and different interpretations of its definition, but also differed greatly in the explanations of Que(闕) and in supplement to it since Song Dynasty. Some scholars consider that Que(闕)originates from Shuowenjiezi(≪說文解字≫). For instance, Xu, Kai(徐?)in Southern Tang believes that without teacher`s explanation of `Cong Shang`(從上)of Pang(旁), Xu, Shen(許愼) notes Que(闕). Duan, Yucai(段玉裁) and Wang, Yun(王筠) in Qing Dynasty believe that Xu, Shen(許愼)is not konwing well “□” in Pang(旁)causes using Que(闕); while others such as Yan, Kejun(嚴可均) and Yao, Wentian(姚文田) in Qing Dynasty consider that Que(闕) does not originate from Shuowenjiezi(≪說文解字≫). It is added by later scholars. They analyze that Que(闕) is added for the lost part in Shuowenjiezi(≪說文解字≫) by collators. Based on the form of Pang(旁) on bones or tortoise shells of the Shang Dynasty and ancient bronze objects,and Chinese character studies of“tongyi”(同意), this article sorts out the intention of its creation and evolution process of Pang`s(旁) form and then analyzes the origin of Que(闕) of Pang(旁). From the former research, it is believed that the Que (闕) of Pang(旁) is caused by the gradual change of the forms of Chinese characters, and created by Xu, Shen(許愼).
Blocking Bcl-2 Leads to Autophagy Activation and Cell Death of the HEPG2 Liver Cancer Cell Line

Background: Apoptosis may be induced after Bcl-2 expression is inhibited in proliferative cancer cells. This study focused on the effect of autophagy activation by ABT737 on anti-tumor effects of epirubicin. Methods: Cytotoxic effects of ABT737 on the HepG2 liver cancer cell line were assessed by MTT assay and cell apoptosis through flow cytometry. Mitochondrial membrane potential was measured by fluorescence microscopy. Monodansylcadaverin (MDC) staining was used to detect activation of autophagy. Expression of p53, p62, LC3, and Beclin1, apoptotic or autophagy related proteins, was detected by Western blotting. Results: ABT737 and epirubicin induced growth inhibition in HepG2 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. Both ABT737 and epirubicin alone could induce cell apoptosis with a reduction in mitochondrial membrane potential as well as increased apoptotic protein expression. Further increase of apoptosis was detected when HepG2 cells were co-treated with ABT373 and epirubicin. Furthermore, our results demonstrated that ABT373 or epirubicin ccould activate cell autophagy with elevated autophagosome formation, increased expression of autophagy related proteins and LC3 fluorescent puncta. Conclusions: ABT737 influences cancer cells through both apoptotic and autophagic mechanisms, and ABT737 may enhance the effects of epirubicin on HepG2 cells by activating autophagy and inducing apoptosis.
The Dust Deposition Process and Biogeochemical Impacts in the Northern South China Sea

Modern dust plays essential roles in marine sediments, providing nutrient and crucial elements for primary productivity and aquatic ecosystems. However, present marine atmospheric dust observational evidence concerning the biogeochemical response to dust deposition process is spared for a long time. Here a total of 147 aerosols samples were collected near the northern South China Sea (SCS) coast between 13 February, 2016, and 12 February, 2017, have been investigated for the grain size distribution, depositional flux, ten-day back trajectories, clusters analysis, combining with primary productivity (Chlorophyll-a concentration) to indicate the present-day dust deposition process and biogeochemical impacts in the northern SCS on the first time. Our results illustrate the deposition flux and grain size distribution change in different season, grain size distribution in winter are coarser particles than that in the summer, while the maximum and minimum dry deposition flux are 12 December, 2016, (60.4 mg m−2 d−1) and 26 August, 2016, (5 mg m−2 d−1), respective. In addition, the back trajectories and three clusters analyze results indicating 53% of air masses originating locally near the coastal areas of China from the marine boundary layer (0–0.5 km) in the summer monsoon, while 48% dust from the northeast wind is prevailing during the winter monsoon over a relatively higher level (0–1.5 km). Furthermore, an apparent Chl-a blooming after aeolian dust input with a period of 1–2 days in the SCS. Therefore, atmospheric dust contains readily bioavailable iron and enhance the biogeochemical impact in the oligotrophic SCS.
Gene Mapping Related to Yellow Green Leaf in a Mutant Line in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

A mutant, which derived from the restorer line Jinhui10 treated with EMS, showed completely yellow green leaves, and it had low chlorophyll content and poor agronomic characteristics during the growing stage. The F1 plants from the cross between normal × the mutant showed normal green leaves, and the segregation ratio of normal to yellow green leaves was 3:1 in F2 population. It indicated that the trait was controlled by a single recessive nuclear gene, temporarily designated as ygl3. The gene ygl3 was mapped between RM468 and RM3684 with genetic distances 8.4 cM and 1.8 cM on chromosome 3. This result would be used as genetic information for fine mapping and map-based cloning of ygl3 gene.
The applicability study and validation of TULIP code for full energy range spectrum

NECP-SARAX is a neutronics analysis code system for advanced reactor developed by Nuclear Engineering Computational Physics Laboratory of Xi’an Jiaotong University. In past few years, improvements have been implemented in TULIP code which is the cross-section generation module of NECP-SARAX, including the treatment of resonance interface, considering the self-shielding effect in non-resonance energy range, hyperfine group method and nuclear library with thermal scattering law. Previous studies show that NECP-SARAX has high performance in both fast and thermal spectrum system analysis. The accuracy of TULIP code in fast and thermal spectrum system analysis is demonstrated preliminarily. However, a systematic verification and validation is still necessary. In order to validate the applicability of TULIP code for full energy range, 147 fast spectrum critical experiment benchmarks and 170 thermal spectrum critical experiment benchmarks were selected from ICSBEP and used for analysis. The keff bias between TULIP code and reference value is less than 300 pcm for all fast spectrum benchmarks. And that bias keeps within 200 pcm for thermal spectrum benchmarks with neutronmoderating materials such as polyethylene, beryllium oxide, etc. The numerical results indicate that TULIP code has good performance for the analysis of fast and thermal spectrum system
