The Perceived Impacts of Tourism: The Case of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
Pham Hong Long 한국관광학회 2014 International Journal of Tourism Sciences Vol.14 No.2
A study was undertaken among the residents in Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh, Vietnam, to examine the perceived impacts of tourism and to explore residents’ support for tourism development. In-depth, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 11 residents. The findings show that, on the whole, respondents viewed tourism positively and displayed strong support for tourism development. They were generally in favor of tourism that contributes economically and socio–culturally to Ha Long Bay. They were, however, slightly ambivalent about the environmental impacts of tourism. Based on the findings, this paper discusses the implications of the research, and the direction for future studies.
The first years of liver transplantation: experiences at a single center
Phu Hong Pham,Nghia Phuoc Phan,Viet Doan Khac Tran,Viet Quoc Dang,Thuan Duc Nguyen,Long Cong Duy Tran,Bac Hoang Nguyen 대한이식학회 2022 Korean Journal of Transplantation Vol.36 No.2
Background: The aim of this study was to analyze the first stages of progress in liver transplantation (LT) at a single center in Vietnam. Methods: This study analyzed data from patients and donors who participated in the LT program between August 2018 and December 2021 at University Medical Center, Ho Chi Minh City. Study measures included any difficulties encountered, as well as the post- LT outcomes for living donor LT (LDLT) and deceased donor LT (DDLT). The chi-square test and Kaplan Meier survival analysis were used to test the factors that influenced the outcomes. Results: A total of 18 adult recipients with LT (LDLT, n=16; DDLT, n=2) were included (mean age, 55.2±2.6 years; male, 88.9%). The most common post-LT complications were middle hepatic venous stenosis (20%) and graft rejection (22.2%). These compli- cations were observed in LDLT patients. For DDLT, graft rejection (50%) was the only complication recorded. The survival rates for recipients at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year were 100%, 88.9%, and 88.9%, respectively. The LDs had their right livers without the middle hepatic veins harvested, and biliary leakage (6.25%) was the only complica- tion observed. There were no deaths among recipients or LDs during the operations or hospital stays. Conclusions: This study provides key details about the process of LT, and these positive outcomes support LT as an important therapy for end-stage liver disease and early he- patocellular carcinomas.

One new oleanane triterpene glycoside, ardinsuloside(1), and twelve known compounds, demethoxybergenin(2), norbergenin (3), bergenin (4), 4-O-galloylbergenin(5), quercitrin (6), myricitrin (7), myricetin 3-O-(300-O-galloyl)-a-L-rhamnopyranoside (8), desmanthine-2 (9), epicatechin3-O-galloyl ester (10), 30-methoxyepicatechin 3-Ogalloylester (11), gallic acid (12), and methyl galloate (13)were isolated from the leaves of Ardisia insularis. Theirstructures were established on the basis of spectral and chemicalevidence, which were in agreement with those reportedin literature. The cytotoxic activities of these compounds wereevaluated on three cancer cell lines namely A-549 (humanlung cancer), HT-29 (Human colon adenocarcinoma), andOVCAR (human ovarian carcinoma). The results revealedthat compound 1 inhibited A-549, HT-29, and OVCAR celllines with IC50 values of 8.5 ± 1.2, 16.4 ± 3.1, and13.6 ± 2.4 lM, respectively. The remaining compoundshowed weak cytotoxic activity. This result indicated thatcompound 1 could be useful in the treatment of cancer disease.
ON A m-ORDER NONLINEAR INTEGRODIFFERENTIAL EQUATION IN N VARIABLES
Ngoc Le Thi Phuong,Dung Huynh Thi Hoang,Danh Pham Hong,Long Nguyen Thanh 경남대학교 기초과학연구소 2019 Nonlinear Functional Analysis and Applications Vol.24 No.4
In this paper, by applying the fixed point theorems coupled with establishing suitable Banach spaces and a su cient condition for relatively compact subsets, we study the existence and the compactness of the set of solutions for m-order nonlinear integrodi erential equation in N variables. In order to illustrate the results obtained here, we present two examples.
