        Background : In recent years gonorrhoea has been panendemic and remains one of the most common Sexually Transmitted Diseases in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Method : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria Gonorrhoeae(PPNG), Ive have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1994, 168 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 109 (64,9% ) were PPNG. Conclustion : Our results suggests that the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is still increasing.

        자연휴양림 이용자 요구사항 및 만족

        The research was studied about measure how each element affect to recreational forest visitors. And I can provide the useful information for the strategic decision-making to make value-up through characterization and differentiation of recreational forest. Those who use recreational forest were studied. Survey area was divided into five regions; Kyung-gi province, Kang-won province, Chung-chong province, Kyung-sang province and Jeon-ra province. And then national and local governments, individuals were classified as operating principals. Empirical analysis were analyzed by applying the Kano model. The questionnaire was analyzed by statistical methods; for data processing, along with a test of reliability in the measuring tools, frequency analysis. Human services and nature management components of recreational forest were classified as one-dimensional quality. Most users are more concerned about these elements. Recreational forest visitors are more concerned about quality associated with software components rather than hardware components. Recreational forest visitors with high interests and a high level of satisfaction about recreational forest has more concerned about the quality.

        선행 제왕절개술 후 질식 분만: 성공의 예측인자들

        목적: 선행제왕절개 후 질식분만을 시도한 산모들 중 성공군과 실패군을 비교하여 성공을 예측할 수 있는 인자를 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 1997년 3월부터 2003년 2월까지 경희대학교 의과대학 산부인과에서 선행제왕절개 후 질식분만을 위하여 내원한 환자중 질식분만의 금기가 아닌 경우 위험요소 등에 대하여 충분히 상의한 후 분만을 시도한 382명의 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 대상군의 의무기록을 통하여 분만당시 산모의 나이, 분만력, 제태연령, 신생아 몸무게, 입원시 자궁경부 상태 및 Bishop score, 분만의 진행과정, 결과 및 합병증을 조사하여 성공군과 실패군의 차이를 비교분석 하였다. 결과: 292(76.5%)명이 질식분만에 성공하였다. 여러 인자 중 태아의 몸무게(odds ratio, 0.2 ; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.1-0.4), 입원시 Bishop score(odds ratio, 1.8 ; 95% CI, 1.5-2.1), 질식분만의 과거력(odds ratio, 3.6 ; 95% CI, 1.1-11.6)이 VBAC의 성공과 관련이 있었다. 또한 선행제왕절개시 적응증이 태위이상인 경우에 성공률이 높은 것으로 나타났다(odds ratio, 3.2 ; 95% CI, 1.2~8.6). 입원시 Bishop score로 VBAC의 성공을 예측할 수 있는 지 알아보기 위하여 receiver-operating characteristic curve 분석을 시행하였고, 5점을 cut-off로 하였을 때 47.4%의 민감도와 87.6%의 특이도를 보였다(AUC, 0.765 ; p<0.05). 결론: 출생체중, 질식분만의 과거력, 입원시 Bishop score가 선행제왕절개 후 질식분만을 고려하는 경우 성공의 예측인자로서 유용하게 사용되어 질 수 있을 것이다. Objective: The purpose of this report is to determine the predictable factors for successful vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Methods: In this study, 382 women who attempted VBAC at Kyung-Hee university hospital were included. The medical records of them were reviewed retrospectively. Informations was collected about demographics, medical history, obstetric history, neonatal birth weight, complications, treatment, and outcome of the index pregnancy. Results: The overall success rate was 76.5% (292 cases). Among variables, neonatal birth weight (odds ratio, 0.2; 95% confidence interval, 0.1-0.4), Bishop score at admission (odds ratio, 1.8; 95% confidence interval, 1.5-2.1 ; p<0.05), and history of vaginal delivery (odds ratio, 3.6 ; 95% confidence interval, 1.1-11.6 ; p<0.05) were significant. The Bishop score showed most significant relationship with successful VBAC. The Bishop score 5 at admission had a sensitivity of 47.4% and a specificity of 87.6% in the prediction of successful VBAC. Malpresentation as indications of previous cesarean delivery showed more tendency to succeed than others. Conclusion: Several factors such as birth weight, Bishop score at admission, and history of vaginal delivery may be used to predict the success of VBAC.

        The Working Group on the revision of Clinical Research Methodology for Acupuncture met in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 24 to 26 August 2005. The main objectives of the meeting were to review the regional publication guidelines for Clinical Research on Acupuncture, to make necessary revisions in the guidelines, to make recommendations on further collaboration and activities in the field of research on acupuncture, and to discuss scientific evidence-based approaches in the clinical research on acupuncture. Fourteen members from the eight Member States, one secretariat staff from the WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific and ten observers from the Republic of Korea attended the meeting. The members presented their papers to review the current status of clinical research on acupuncture. The drafts of proposed revision to the previous guidelines for clinical research methodology on acupuncture were discussed extensively. The issues covered during the discussion included: the definition of the new terms; reorganization of clinical research design; revision and update of contents (e.g., control group); introduction of Institutional Review Board (IRB) on the section of ethical approval; additional outcomes including health-related quality of life (HRQOL), qualitative measures, etc. In the course of these discussions, the working group developed the revised guidelines for clinical research on acupuncture and made recommendations for promoting the dissemination of the revised guidelines.

      • 그람양성구균에 대한 Teicoplanin과 Vancomycin의 시험관내 항균력

        An increasing frequency of methicillin resistant S. aureus(MRSA), methicillin resistant coagulase negative staphylococci(MRCNS) and Enterococcal infection have been observed in recent years. Teicoplanin is a new glycopeptide antibiotic obstained from the Actinoplanes teicomycetius. The molecular structure and spectrum of antimicrobial activity of teicoplanin is simillar to those of vancomycin, and has been reported to have an excellent in vitro and in vivo effect against various gram-positive infections. Therefore, we evaluated the in vitor susceptibility of gram positive cocci, such as, S. aureus, coagulase negative Staphylococci(CNS), and Enterococci to teicoplanin and vancomycin. The total 253 strains consisted of MSSA(40), MRSA(53), MSCNS(47), MRCNS(48), and Enterococci(65). They were assayed by disc diffusion and agar dilution. During the study, 57% of S. aureus and 49% of CNS showed resistance to methicillin. The inhibitory diameter of teicoplanin was 15-20mm in MSSA, 12-19mm in MRSA, 13-24mm in MSCNS, 11-23mm in MRCNS, and 15-22mm in Enterococci respectively, and showed sensitivity in all but 8 strains(3.2%). The range of the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of teicoplanin to MSSA, MRSA, MSCNS, MRCNS and Enterococci were 9.12-2.0㎍/ml, 0.25-2.0㎍/ml, & 0.25-32㎍/ml, 0.12-1.0㎍/ml respectively. One case of S. haemolyticus was resistant to teicoplanin (32㎍/ml) by the agar dilution method. Eight minor (3.2%) and one major(0.4%) error was observed when the MIC and disk diffusion data were correlated with teicoplanin. As for vancomycin the inhibitory diameter was 17-21mm in MSSA, 15-21mm in MRSA, 18-26mm in MSCNS, 18-25mm in MRCNS, and 16-22mm in Enterococci respectively. The range of the MIC of vancomycin to MSSA, MRSA, MSCNS, MRCNS, and Enterococci were 0.25-1.0㎍/ml, 0.25-4.0㎍/ml, 0.5-2.0㎍/ml and 0.5-2.0㎍/ml respectively. One minor error (0.4%) was seen with the vancomycin disk. The MIC90 of MSSA and MRSA exhibited the same results in teicoplanin (1.0㎍/ml, 1.0㎍/ml), and vancomycin(2.0㎍/ml, 2.0㎍/ml). MSCNS and MRCNS exhibited greater MIC90 with teicoplanin(4.0㎍/ml, 8.0㎍/ml) than vancomycin(2.0㎍/ml, 2.0㎍/ml). Incontrase Enterococci were more susceptible to teicoplanin(0.5㎍/ml) than to vancomucin (2.0㎍/ml). Results from this analysis indicated that both teicoplanin and vancomycin were very excellent for gram positive infections, especially those resistant to methicillin.

      • 다중지능이론을 적용한 음악과 교수학습 지도 방안 연구

        The recent changes of educational philosophy and methodology show us improving trends. We, as music teachers. must make efforts to keep up with these trends and signs with prospects for the future generations. As an effort to satisfy these educational demands, Gardner's Multiple Intelligence meaning each human being has his or her unique intellectual ability lets children be proud of themselves with positive thinking. This theory based on the idea that every individual has his or her own special ability and interests in life makes it possible for teachers to focus on students talking their own ideas in class, voluntarily participating in school activities, and solving problems reflected their own experiences. It opens the possibility to teach students not a view of just fact acquisition, but a view of integrated knowledge acquisition. Gardner's theory. surpassing the other theories of human intelligence, has important meanings to suggest the development of human artistic potentiality and the practical ideas of music education. Through this theory we know human intelligence is composed of eight areas It means teachers must organize classes for students to utilize their own intelligence . This study follows not a conventional class divided by subjects but an integrated class, all of experience and knowledge from subjects influencing one another, not only to achieve the goals of music education but also to develop children's intelligences harmoniously The teaching strategy and the improving way of it applied to Multiple Intelligence focusing on each student's potentiality and efficient classes considering the ability, aptitude need, and, interest of a student will develop other 7 areas such as Linguistic Intelligence, Logical-Mathematical Intelligence, Spatial Intelligence, Bodily-kinesthetic Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence, Intrapersonal Intelligence, Naturalist Intelligence as well as Musical Intelligence. In the way of devising music teaching-learning methods these 7 intelligences are given as selected activities. These activities are picked up due to the theme or text for the subject of a class. Furthermore, the level of students related to the materials of other subjects in fifth grade is considered for these activities. Through the above-mentioned consideration, I studied the methods of music teaching-learning applied to Multiple Intelligence and concluded as follows. First, students can think in the way of music according to the music class and various selected activities can help to develop musicianship and musical creativity of each student. Second, the application of Multiple Intelligence motivates students to use their various intelligence. Therefore, they feel interested in and really into class. Third, the class applied to Multiple Intelligence provides students with opportunity to improve the connections of between intelligences. As result. they can understand their class intensively while having a strong intimacy and positive attitude to their class. Fourth , the class applied to Multiple Intelligence makes it possible for students to associate their class experience with everyday life or other situations. Fifth the class applied to Multiple Intelligence setting out of from the limit of the current methods concentrating on Linguistic Intelligence and Logical-Mathematical Intelligence captures the importance of multiplicity of each student and potentiality easily neglected in the standardized society, In this class a student can solve problems with his or her relatively special ability as the best means and maximize the class achievement. To make use of Multiple Intelligence for music education, teachers should study the methods of music teaching-learning more systematically and steadily. In addition we should enlarge this theory to the range of all grades of elementary school and try to prove the effectiveness of this to the areas of musical understanding. development, and achievement. And also we, as music teachers, should make an effort to change the recognitions of learners' intelligence and the methods of teaching for the better educational situation.
