The purpose of this study was to propose the alternative ideas through SWOT analysis for strategic management of Daejeon convention center. It was described the related factors and the present states for convention industry in Korea. And then, SWOT analysis were performed to suggest the strategic management alternatives to promote Daejeon convention center. In this study, 8 alternative ideas were suggested to facilitate the success of Daejeon convention center such as competitive factors, supporting system of government, development of PCO, collection of professional manpower, development of tourism items, development of symbol imaging Daejeon, utilizing of government plan, management stabilization.

The enzyme, squalene synthase, represents a branch point in the isoprenoid pathway capable of diverting carbon flow specifically to the biosynthesis of phytosterol and Triterpenoid. Transgenic Eleutherococcus senticosus plants were prepared by introducing the genes for squalene synthase derived from Panax ginseng (PgSS1), hygromycin phosphotransferase (HPT) and green fluorescent protein (GFP) through Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. Establishment of transgenic plantlets were confirmed by the presence of PgSS1 and HPT bands in the genomic DNA preparation using a PCR method and a Southern blotting. In addition, expression of the introduced GFP DNA was confirmed by observing green fluorescence of GFP from the embroyos. In the in vitro analysis of the PgSS1 enzymatic activities the transgenic plants showed to have 1.5 to 3 times higher than wild type plant, indicating that the PgSS1 genes was well over-expressed in the transgenic plants. Especially the PgSS1 acivities of embroyogenic cell was 120 times higher than those of plantlet.

A biological assessment of water quality was carried out in Giran stream from May 203 to January 2004. The benthic macroinvertebrates collected seasonally from 5 field sites were identified mostly up to species level. The benthic macroinvertebrates collected from the surveyed sites were composed of 88 species, 68 genera,42 families, 14 orders, 5 class and 4 phyla. The dominance index (DI) showed the high-est as 0.802 at site 5 and the lowest as 1.643 at site 3. Ecological score of benthic macroinvertebrate (ESB) showed the highest as 103 at site 2 and the lowest as 63 at site 3. All surveyed sites were Oligosaprobic that the water quality estimated by ecological score of benthic macroinvertebratc community.

It was found that the conventional SPICE model of pn-junction diode can be used to model the reverse current-voltage characteristics of GaN/Sapphire LEDs. The reverse breakdown properties can be precisely described using the SPICE model. The SPICE-based 3-dimensional circuit model of LED was used to analyze the device failure mechanism under the application of high reverse voltage. It was found that the breakdown of pn-junction as well as the P-GaN layer, both presumably due to impact ionization, causes the permanent device failure.
Oct4 단백질의 DNA - 결합 영역에 융합된 HIV - 1 integrase

Human immunodeficience virus type-1 (HIV-1) integrase (IN) mediates integration of viral DNA into the host cell genome which is an essential step during the life cycle of retroviruses. HIV-1 IN shows four enzymatic activities in vitro: non-specific DNA- binding, endonucleolytic (3'-processing), integration (strand transfer), and disintegration activities. Oct4 as a transcription factor recognizes and binds the specific sequences containing 5' -ATGCAAAT-3'. In order to study the specific binding and enzymatic activities of the integrase protein, we constructed the four different fusion proteins (OctIN1, OctIN2, INKOct1, INKOct1) using different combination of HIV-1 IN and Oct4 protein. The fusion proteins were overexpressed in Escherichia coli and purified by Ni-NTA and SP-sepharose columns. Analysis of the enzymatic activities showed that all the four fusion proteins has detectable endonucleolytic and integration activities, suggesting that the fusion proteins can be used to study derected integration and sequence specific DNA-binding of the integrase fusion protein.
Azithromycin으로 치료한 임신 중 쓰쓰가무시병 1예

We report a case of tsutsugamushi disease in a 26 year-old pregnant woman who was treated with azithromycin. Her gestation period was 27 weeks and she admitted with fever, rash, and eschar on the right shoulder. Currently recommended medications for the treatment of scrub typhus are doxycycline or chloramphenicol. But, these drugs are class D drugs according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Fetal Risk Summary, so they couldn't be used to treat pregnant women. Recently, a few case reports suggested that azithromycin, a relatively new macrolide antibiotic, was effective and safe for the treatment of scrub typhus in pregnant women. And, there is no evidence that azithromycin causes harmful effects to the developing fetus or to children. On the basis of current in vivo test that confirms the effectiveness of azithromycin, it may be the drug of choice for the treatment of scrub typhus in pregnant women and children. Risk Based Inspection 기법을 이용한 화학공장의 안전성 향상에 관한 연구

The RBI technique proposed by API is composed of three steps. The qualitative RBI method can be used for the purpose of screening the components with high risk. And, the quantitative RBI method employs complex risk evaluation model for predicting component risk in a quantitative manner. The inspection program can be optimized based on the results obtained by these RBI technique. The forementioned RBI technique has been applied to a common hydrodesulfurizer unit and the technique is critically evaluated for studying its benefits and limitations, which is the main issue of this thesis. It's conducted that the RBI method can provide a method for defining and measuring the component risk, and also provide a powerful tool for managing many of the important elements of a process plant.

Due to the rising cost of energy, new separation processes based on extraction are becoming more attractive than before. Thus, the need for calculating and predicting liquid-liquid equilibria(LLE) compositions has very much increased. The purpose of this study is to determine and describe LLE data for the quaternary system containing acetic acid aqueous solution and solvent at 25℃. We investigated that the selection of the optimum solvent to separate acetic acid from aqueous solution and compared with ternary and quaternary LLE including binary solvent also.
