<P>Highly porous amorphous Zn2SnO4 electrodes are prepared using electrospinning techniques and combined with organic or ruthenium dyes to fabricate dye‐sensitized solar cells. As reported by Sung‐Yeon Jang, Renaud Demadrille, Il‐Doo Kim, and co‐workers on page 3146, the devices based on 3‐μm‐thick electrodes and the organic dyes demonstrate significantly improved performances compared to those using the ruthenium complex. Using this approach, solar cells with power conversion efficiencies up to 3.7% are obtained. </P>
Dermatomyositis Associated with Cancer of Unknown Primary Site
Sang Ho Kim,Jae Sook Ahn,양덕환,이제중,정익주,김형준,Sung Hoon Chung,Jun Eul Hwang,김여경,윤숙정,조상희,Hyung Il Kim 대한의학회 2007 Journal of Korean medical science Vol.22 No.S
Dermatomyositis (DM) is an uncommon inflammatory myopathy with characteristic rash accompanying, or more often preceding, muscle weakness. There is a wellrecognized association between DM and several cancers, such as ovarian cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, colon cancer, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. We report the first case of cancer of unknown primary site associated with DM. A 62-yr-old woman presented to us with both shoulder painful swelling and facial edema. She was diagnosed previously as cancer of unknown primary site, histologically confirmed with squamous cell carcinoma in a pelvic mass. For the following days, she complained of erythematous face followed by progressive weakness of the proximal muscles of upper and lower limbs. The laboratory tests showed an increased muscle enzyme and acute phase reactants. The electromyogram showed the typical findings of DM. After the treatment with high dose steroid and methotrexate, the proximal motor weakness improved, and she received palliative radiation therapy.
A Range-Scaled 13b 100 MS/s 0.13 um CMOS SHA-Free ADC Based on a Single Reference
Hwang, Dong-Hyun,Song, Jung-Eun,Nam, Sang-Pil,Kim, Hyo-Jin,An, Tai-Ji,Kim, Kwang-Soo,Lee, Seung-Hoon The Institute of Electronics and Information Engin 2013 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.13 No.2
This work describes a 13b 100 MS/s 0.13 um CMOS four-stage pipeline ADC for 3G communication systems. The proposed SHA-free ADC employs a range-scaling technique based on switched-capacitor circuits to properly handle a wide input range of $2V_{P-P}$ using a single on-chip reference of $1V_{P-P}$. The proposed range scaling makes the reference buffers keep a sufficient voltage headroom and doubles the offset tolerance of a latched comparator in the flash ADC1 with a doubled input range. A two-step reference selection technique in the back-end 5b flash ADC reduces both power dissipation and chip area by 50%. The prototype ADC in a 0.13 um CMOS demonstrates the measured differential and integral nonlinearities within 0.57 LSB and 0.99 LSB, respectively. The ADC shows a maximum signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio of 64.6 dB and a maximum spurious-free dynamic range of 74.0 dB at 100 MS/s, respectively. The ADC with an active die area of 1.2 $mm^2$ consumes 145.6 mW including high-speed reference buffers and 91 mW excluding buffers at 100 MS/s and a 1.3 V supply voltage.

Background: Hemoptysis due to pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) frequently develops in Korea where the prevalence of TB is intermediate. The effect of bronchial artery embolization (BAE) on the control of massive hemoptysis has been well known. This study is designed to identify the risk factors contributing to rebleeding after BAE in patients with TB. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated risk factors and the time for rebleeding after BAE in 72 patients presenting with hemoptysis. Results: The overall immediate success rate of BAE was 93.1% (67 of 72 patients). Of the 29 patients (40.3%) who showed rebleeding after BAE, 13 patients experienced rebleeding within 1 month, and 14 patients between 1 month to 1 year. The existence of a shunt in angiographic finding, aspergilloma, and diabetes mellitus were risk factors of rebleeding after BAE in multivariate analysis. Conclusion: BAE was very effective for obtaining immediate bleeding control in hemoptysis associated with active TB or post-TB sequelae. It is important to observe whether or not rebleeding occurs up to 1 year of BAE especially in TB patients with aspergilloma, DM, or a shunt. Even rebleeding can be managed well by second BAE.
The Political Unconscious Staged in J. M. Synge’s The Playboy of the Western World
Hwang, Hoon-sung(황훈성) 한국현대영미드라마학회 2017 현대영미드라마 Vol.30 No.3
This paper aims to excavate the political unconscious hidden in Synge’s The Playboy of the Western World. Heavily relying on Fredric Jameson’s critical insight on the process of historicizing reappropriation, it adopts the semiotic term, ideologème in order to link the individual discourse of a concrete text with the collective discourse of ideology. In The Playboy of the Western World, the two forces in confrontation are obviously the Irish peasantry and the British colonialists. The former, fundamentally alienated in politico-economical terms, are deprived of the position to reclaim their identity. As the result, alienation, existentialist or sociological, leads the Irish peasants to feel desolate and lonely. In this view, their loneliness is not confined to an individualized sentiment but is transformed into an ideologème. As an intersection with amphibious character, the ideologème is capable of mediating conceptions of abstract ideology, worldviews and value systems with narrative practices manifested in the text as an intersection between langue as ideological scheme of class struggle and parole as concrete textual phenomena. Thus the sentiment of loneliness graphically links the words and deeds of an Irish peasantry soaked in loneliness with the abstract theory of ideology concerning the politico-economical practices of exploitation under the regime of colonization.
