Influence Factors of Sino-EU Trade

This paper pays attention to the fluctuation of trade between China and eight Euro counties from 2005 to 2013. Fixed effect model is used to test whether there is a correlation among export, GNI, euro exchange rate and population. Generalized inverse matrix method is employed to solve the over determined equations to acquire the residual fluctuations of export data. After that, the residual fluctuations are divided into two parts: the permanent shock and transitory shock. This paper demonstrated that the permanent shock is mainly influenced by the government debt levels, household saving rate, unemployment and trading independence, wherever, the transitory shock is mostly embodied as measuring error of the economic data.

This study analyzes the status quo of Sino-EU bilateral trade and investments in recent years. The growth of bilateral trade has decelerated, but service trade, the foreign investments of China in the EU, and Sino-EU coordination on economic governance are featured, which are strongly influenced by EU new trade strategy. We next examine the economic focus from the sides of China and the EU, as well as some conflicting issues. It is concluded that the frictions are unavoidable in the Sino-EU economic relations, but the cooperation and win-win in continuous consultation is the main tone.
An investigation of local structures and EPR spectra for Cu2+ and VO2+ in biochar

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) technology had been adopted to analyze the structures and properties of Cu2+ and VO2+ in Biochar (BG1 and BG2), but the local structural properties have not been clarified up to now. In present work, three possible structures (orthorhombically, rhombically and tetragonally elongated octahedra) are proposed for Cu2+ in BG1 and BG2 samples, and the former seems most reasonable in view of the best agreement between the theoretical EPR parameters based on the perturbation formulae and the experimental data. As for the VO2+ center, unlike the previous assignment of the tetragonally elongated [VO5]6− cluster based on the simple formulae of EPR parameters, presently proposed tetragonally compressed [VO6]8− cluster and the high order perturbation formulae of the EPR parameters yields good agreement with the observed values. This point is also supported by the d-d optical absorption 2B1g →2B2g for tetragonally compressed octahedral 3 d1 systems.

In this article, pure $m-LaVO_4:Eu^{3+}$ and $t-LaVO_4:Eu^{3+}$ nanocrystals were prepared by an EG-assisted hydrothermal method with regular shapes. A series of controlled experiments showed that the pH value of a mixed solution, the volume ratio of $EG/H_2O$ and the dosage of the doped $Eu^{3+}$ all had an important effect on the sizes and shapes of the final products. Furthermore, the constitutional unit of the products changed from 0D to 2D with an increase in the EG dosage. The PL results showed that $t-LaVO_4$ doped with $Eu^{3+}$ ions had better luminescence properties than $m-LaVO_4$ due to its special structure. All of these results not only expand our understanding of the luminescence properties of lanthanide orthovanadates, but they also elucidate the principles of the crystal growth.

A new compound, 4-methoxyl 5-hydroxymethyl benzoic 3-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside (1), has been isolated from the leaves and stems of Acer mandshuricum, along with nine known compounds (2-10). Their structures were determined by a variety of spectroscopic analyses. The effect of compounds 1-10 on the function of osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 cells was examined by determining alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, collagen synthesis, and mineralization. Compound 1 significantly increased the function of osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 cells; $5.0\;{\mu}M$ of 1 increased ALP activity, collagen synthesis, and mineralization of MC3T3-E1 cells to 114.7, 119.5, and 108.2% (P < 0.05) of the basal value, respectively. In addition, compounds 2-10 also potently increased the function of osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 cells.

In this article, poly methyl triethoxy silane was compounded with an inorganic waterproof admixture at a certain ratio to improve the performance of gypsum products; a new type of high-efficiency compound water-proofing additive was also investigated. Furthermore, the waterproof mechanism and the various properties on the hardened gypsum plaster were investigated in detail by XRD and SEM. The results show that the intenerate coefficient of gypsum plaster increased to more than 0.9; the water absorbing rate decreased to less than 10 %. Both the bending strength and the compressive strength of gypsum plaster increased by various degrees. The intenerate coefficient reached a maximum value of 0.73 and the strength of the samples showed almost no change when 5% cement alone was added. In this new type of the high-efficiency compound with waterproof additive, the optimal technological parameters for formulas were obtained to be: 5% cement, 18 % mineral powder, and 0.8% poly methyl triethoxy silane, to compound gypsum plaster. Meanwhile, the production of high performance gypsum as a building material has become possible.
Oleanane-triterpenoids from Panax stipuleanatus inhibit NF-kB

In continuation of our research to find biological components from Panax stipuleanatus, four oleanane-type triterpenes (12 to 15) were isolated successively. Fifteen oleanane-type saponins (1 to 15) were evaluated for nuclear factor (NF)-κB activity using a luciferase reporter gene assay in HepG2 cells. Compounds 6 to 11 inhibited NF-κB, with IC50 values between 3.1 to 18.9 μM. The effects on inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 by compounds 8, 10, and 11 were also examined using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Three compounds (8, 10, and 11) inhibited NF-κB activity by reducing the concentration of inflammatory factors in HepG2 cells.
Phenolic Compounds from <i>Artemisia iwayomogi</i> and Their Effects on Osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 Cells

<P>One new (4) and twelve known phenolic compounds (1—3, 5—13) were isolated from a 70% MeOH extract of the aerial parts of <I>Artemisia iwayomogi</I>. The new compound was identified as 7,8-dimethoxy-coumarin-9-<I>O</I>-(6′-<I>O</I>-(<I>E</I>)-coumaroyl)-β-<SMALL>D</SMALL>-glucopyranoside (4) and named iwayomin. The effects of compounds 1—13 on the function of osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 cells were examined by evaluating cell viability, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, collagen synthesis, and mineralization in the presence of each compound. Compounds 3, 4, 7, and 9 showed potential in stimulating osteoblastic bone formation and may be useful for the prevention and/or treatment of osteoporosis.</P>
