      • 고랭지배추 생산·유통체계의 발전전략

        The objective of this study is to provide development strategies in the production and distribution system of highland Chinese cabbage by evaluating and analyzing problems of the current system, focusing on several main stages between production and distribution system of highland Chinese cabbage. Through interview of groups such as farmers, distributers in the main producing areas, commission merchants of the wholesale market and large-scale distributors the relavant information was collected. Also, data such as production situations in main producing areas, distribution conditions in the wholesale market was analyzed. The functions of highland Chinese cabbage were classified and the current state of highland Chinese cabbage distribution system was investigated to provide an overall insight into the highland Chinese cabbage distribution system. Also the factors which will affect a price of wholesale market and consumer of highland Chinese cabbage were examined. Finally problems and improvements in the production and distribution system through analysis of the distribution system of highland Chinese cabbage were provided. the main contents of this study are as follows. The first is to keep stability of production in main producing areas by applying a differentiated production method, for example, rainshelter cultivation method. The second is to establish the distribution system which the relevant information is opened transparently. The third is that the consistent cold transportation system from main producing areas to consumers must be built.

        Application of Highland Kimchi Cabbage Status Map for Growth Monitoring based on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

        Kimchi cabbage is one of the most important vegetables in Korea and a target crop for market stabilization as well. In particular Kimchi cabbages in a highland area are very sensitive to the fluctuations in supply and demand. Yield variability due to growth conditions dictates the market fluctuations of Kimchi cabbage price. This study was carried out to understand the distribution of the highland Kimchi cabbage growth status in Anbandeok. Anbandeok area in Gangneung, Gangwon-do, Korea is one of the main producing districts of highland Kimchi cabbage. The highland Kimchi cabbage status map of each growth factor was obtained from unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) imagery and field survey data. Six status maps include UAVRGB image map, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) distribution/anomaly map, Crop distribution map, Planting/ Harvest distribution map, Growth parameter map and Growth disorder map. As a result, the highland Kimchi cabbage status maps from May 31 to Sep. 6 in 2016 were presented to show spatial variability in the field. The benefits of the highland Kimchi cabbage status map can be summarized as follows: crop growth monitoring, reference for field observations and survey, the relative comparison of the growth condition in field scale, evaluation of growth in comparison of average year, change detection of annual crops or planting areas, abandoned fields monitoring, prediction of harvest season etc.

        국내 고랭지배추 생산량에 대한 엘니뇨 영향

        본 논문에서는 1991년 이후 중간 강도 이상의 엘니뇨가 발생한 해의 고랭지배추의 단위면적당 생산량의 변화를 비교 분석하였다. 엘니뇨가 발생한 해 (n=12)의 고랭지배추의 전국 평균 생산량 (3,444±384kg 10a<sup>-1</sup>)은 미 발생한 해 (n=14)의 생산량 (3,722±277kg 10a<sup>-1</sup>)보다 적었으며, 통계적으로도 유의하였다(t=2.140, p=0.042). 또한, 엘니뇨가 종료한 해의 고랭지배추의 전국 평균 생산량은 엘니뇨가 시작한 해와 엘니뇨가 미 발생한 해보다 낮은 경향을 보였고, 이 또한 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 분석되었다(df=2, f=3.874, p=0.035). 이것은 고랭지 배추 재배기간의 저온, 일조부족, 강수량 증가 현상이 1차적 원인으로 사료되나, 앞으로 엘니뇨 발생에 따른 악기상 등 각종 농업환경 변화와 고랭지배추의 생산성의 관계 등 추가 연구가 필요하다. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of El Nino on highland kimchi cabbage production for the period from 1991-2016 in South Korea. Years with less than 1.0 Oceanic Nino index (ONI) were classified into non El Nino years, while years with equal to or greater than 1.0 ONI were defined as El Nino years. The national average production (3,444 ㎏ 10a<sup>-1</sup>) of high kimchi cabbage in El Nino years tended to be less than that in non El Nino years (3,722 kg 10a<sup>-1</sup>) with significant differences (p = 0.0042) in the production between these groups of years. The averaged production of highland kimchi cabbage of El Nino end years (3,289 ㎏ 10a<sup>-1</sup>) was less than those of El Nino start years and non El Nino years by 310 and 433 ㎏ 10a<sup>-1</sup>, respectively. Such difference was significant statistically (p=0.035). According to our analysis, the differences in kimchi cabbage productions resulted from low temperature, short sunshine duration, and precipitation increase during the cultivation period of highland kimchi cabbage. This study may help for further analysis on the impact of extreme weather conditions during El Nino years on crop production.

        고랭지 성토지 배추-호맥 작부체계하의 토양개량이 배추생육에 미치는 영향

        고랭지의 모재토를 성토한 포장에서 관행구, 화학성개량구, 제오라이트구 등 3개처리를 두고 2년간 배추와 후작물로 호맥을 재배하면서 배추 생육과 수량 및 토양 특성 변화를 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 성토시 사용한 토양은 양질사토로서 유기물과 인산함량이 매우 낮은 척박한 토양이었다. 2. 배추의 지상부 생육은 제오라이트구와 화학성개량구가 좋았으며 배추 수량도 관행구에 비하여 16.6~24.6% 증수되었다. 3. 배추 수확 후 토양 이화학성은 시험 전에 비해 점차 증가하였으며 호맥재 배로 토양유기물과 인산함량 증가가 컸다. 4. 호맥은 배추 정식 1주일전에 경운, 매몰하였으며 그 효과는 유기물함량 5g/kg 정도 지력증진효과가 있었다. This study was carried out to investigate the changes of crop growth and soil properties under chinese cabbage - rye cropping system in highland mounding-soil. Experimental plots were designed with control, chemical improvement and zeolite+chemical improvement plots from 1999 to 2000 year. Mounding soil were low in soil organic matter and phosphate contents, and that soil texture was loamy sand soil. The growth and yield of chinese cabbage in the chemical improvement and zeolite plots were higher than that of control by 16.6~24.6%. After harvesting, the contents of soil properties increased than those of experiment before. By rye cultivation, increasing ratios of soil organic matter and phosphate contents were higher than other properties. Rye residues were buried and tilled before chinese cabbage transplanted at 1 week. Buried rye residues increased by 5g/㎏ to soil organic matter contents.

        Estimation of Highland Kimchi Cabbage Growth using UAV NDVI and Agro-meteorological Factors

        For more than 50 years, satellite images have been used to monitor crop growth. Currently, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) imagery is being assessed for analyzing within field spatial variability for agricultural precision management, because UAV imagery may be acquired quickly during critical periods of rapid crop growth. This study refers to the derivation of growth estimating equation for highland Kimchi cabbage using UAV derived normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and agro-meteorological factors. Anbandeok area in Gangneung, Gangwon-do, Korea is one of main districts producing highland Kimchi cabbage. UAV imagery was taken in the Anbandeok ten times from early June to early September. Meanwhile, three plant growth parameters, plant height (P.H.), leaf length (L.L.) and outer leaf number (L.N.), were measured for about 40 plants (ten plants per plot) for each ground survey. Six agro-meteorological factors include average temperature; maximum temperature; minimum temperature; accumulated temperature; rainfall and irradiation during growth period. The multiple linear regression models were suggested by using stepwise regression in the extraction of independent variables. As a result, NDVIUAV and rainfall in the model explain 93% of the P.H. and L.L. with a root mean square error (RMSE) of 2.22, 1.90 cm. And NDVIUAV and accumulated temperature in the model explain 86% of the L.N. with a RMSE of 4.29. These lead to the result that the characteristics of variations in highland Kimchi cabbage growth according to NDVIUAV and other agro-meteorological factors were well reflected in the model.

This study was conducted using a fixed-wing UAV (Model : Ebee)with Cannon S110, IXUS/ELPH camera during farming season from 2015 to 2016 in the main productionarea of highland Kimchi cabbage, Anbandegi, Maebongsan, and Gwinemi. The Normalized DifferenceVegetation Index (NDVI) by using UAV images was stable and suitable for monitoring of Kimchi cabbagesituation. There were strong relationships between UAV NDVI and the growth parameters (the plant heightand leaf width) (R2≥0.94). The tendency of UAV NDVI according to Kimchi cabbage growth was similar inthe same area for two years (2015~2016). It means that if UAV image may be collected several years, UAVimages could be used for estimation of the stage of growth and situation of Kimchi cabbage cultivation.
