이 글에서는 해방기 부산지역 음악사회의 동향, 그리고 음악가와 연주단체의 활동을 실증적으로 고찰하였다. 해방기 부산지역 음악단체와 음악인들은 대중계몽과 사회적 실천을 전개하는 한편, 순수예술을 지향하며 음악적 수준을 드높이는 활동을 전개해 나갔다. 극장이나 미국공보원과 같은 문화예술기반시설, 악극과 음악영화, 연주회 등은 이 지역 공연문화를 확산시키는 기반으로 작용하였으며, 특히 다방은 문화예술인의 사교장이자 음악의 생산과 향유를 추동하는 공간으로 기능하였다. 이 시기 부산지역 음악계를 주도한 음악인들은 대체로 학교제도를 통해 음악에 입문하여 일본 유학을 다녀온 부류였으며, 학교 음악교육, 공연을 통한 사회적 실천, 전문 연주단체 결성과 연주회 개최, 전문교육기관 운영 등 다양한 활동을 전개하였다. 이를 통해 부산은 음악사회를 두텁게 형성함으로써 성장 발판을 마련할 수 있었다. This article empirically examined the trends of the music society and performances in Busan during the liberation period and the performance of musicians. During the liberation period, music groups and musicians in Busan performed public enlightenment and social practice. On the other hand, they pursued pure art and conducted activities to raise the musical level. Culture and arts infrastructure including theaters and the Busan branch of USAFIK OCI (Office of Civil Information), and musical plays, musical films, and concerts served as the basis for the development of local performing arts. In particular, tea rooms served as a social center for artists and a space to promote music production and enjoyment. Musicians who led the music society in Busan during this period were generally those who entered music through the school system and studied abroad in Japan. They carried out various activities such as school music education, social practice through performances, formation of professional performance groups, presenting concerts, and operation of specialized educational institutions. Through this, Busan was able to establish a foothold for future growth by enriching the music society.
