A STUDY ON THE RELATION BETWEEN MATHEMATICS AND FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Oh, Hyeyoung The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2010 한국수학논문집 Vol.18 No.4
We observed the symptoms that occur to students who dislike mathematics when they study mathematics and the data that mathematics is related to foreign language. This study investigated the relation between mathematics and foreign language. Continuous immersion aids not only in acquiring language but also in learning mathematics. For continuous immersion, it is essential to organize small class. We organized small class and compared large class with small class about how the relation between mathematics and language appears in achievement, rate of presence, rate of submission of report, and attitude and enthusiasm. Based on the result, we try to find out the way to increase understanding mathematics and level up the achievements.
Noh, Jihwa,Huh, Nan,Ko, Ho-Kyoung The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2012 한국수학논문집 Vol.20 No.4
For the first time ever in its history, the United States has a national version for K-12 mathematics programs, the Com-mon Core State Standards for Mathematics. Since its final version appeared in 2010 in the United States, the Common Core State Standards have started getting much attention from the Korean mathematics and mathematics education communities. Although attempts have been made to translate the original text of the stan-dards, the information such as the paradigm shift that led to the development of the standards, design principles and a comparison with the NCTM Standards would aid understating the standards in the intended way and avoiding unnecessary confusion.
A STUDY ON THE PREREQUISITE LEARNING THROUGH COOPERATIVE LEARNING
Oh, Hyeyoung The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2012 한국수학논문집 Vol.20 No.4
Cooperation is an essential element in mathematics education with independence. We observe cooperative learning and apply it to the education spot. We conducted cooperative learning experiment with students who were not ready for the prerequisite learning of college mathematics. We try to make up the prerequisite learning through collaborative learning to them. We discuss how cooperative learning affects the students who were not ready for the prerequisite learning of college mathematics.
APPROXIMATE BI-HOMOMORPHISMS AND BI-DERIVATIONS IN C*-TERNARY ALGEBRAS: REVISITED
Cho, Young,Jang, Sun Young,Kwon, Su Min,Park, Choonkil,Park, Won-Gil The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2013 한국수학논문집 Vol.21 No.2
Bae and W. Park [3] proved the Hyers-Ulam stability of bi-homomorphisms and bi-derivations in $C^*$-ternary algebras. It is easy to show that the definitions of bi-homomorphisms and bi-derivations, given in [3], are meaningless. So we correct the definitions of bi-homomorphisms and bi-derivations. Under the conditions in the main theorems, we can show that the related mappings must be zero. In this paper, we correct the statements and the proofs of the results, and prove the corrected theorems.
THE PROPERTIES OF JOIN AND MEET PRESERVING MAPS
Kim, Yong Chan,Ko, Jung Mi The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2014 한국수학논문집 Vol.22 No.2
We investigate the properties of join and meet preserving maps in complete residuated lattices. In particular, we give their examples.
AFFINE TRANSFORMATION OF A NORMAL ELEMENT AND ITS APPLICATION
Kim, Kitae,Namgoong, Jeongil,Yie, Ikkwon The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2014 한국수학논문집 Vol.22 No.3
In this paper, we study affine transformations of normal bases and give an explicit formulation of the multiplication table of an affine transformation of a normal basis. We then discuss constructions of self-dual normal bases using affine transformations of traces of a type I optimal normal basis and of a Gauss period normal basis.
ORTHOGONALLY ADDITIVE AND ORTHOGONALLY QUADRATIC FUNCTIONAL EQUATION
Lee, Jung Rye,Lee, Sung Jin,Park, Choonkil The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2013 한국수학논문집 Vol.21 No.1
Using the fixed point method, we prove the Ulam-Hyers stability of the orthogonally additive and orthogonally quadratic functional equation $$f(\frac{x}{2}+y)+f(\frac{x}{2}-y)+f(\frac{x}{2}+z)+f(\frac{x}{2}-z)=\frac{3}{2}f(x)-\frac{1}{2}f(-x)+f(y)+f(-y)+f(z)+f(-z)$$ (0.1) for all $x$, $y$, $z$ with $x{\bot}y$, in orthogonality Banach spaces and in non-Archimedean orthogonality Banach spaces.
A CLASSIFICATION OF THE SECOND ORDER PROJECTION METHODS TO SOLVE THE NAVIER-STOKES EQUATIONS
Pyo, Jae-Hong The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2014 한국수학논문집 Vol.22 No.4
Many projection methods have been progressively constructed to find more accurate and efficient solution of the Navier-Stokes equations. In this paper, we consider most recently constructed projection methods: the pressure correction method, the gauge method, the consistent splitting method, the Gauge-Uzawa method, and the stabilized Gauge-Uzawa method. Each method has different background and theoretical proof. We prove equivalentness of the pressure correction method and the stabilized Gauge-Uzawa method. Also we will obtain that the Gauge-Uzawa method is equivalent to the gauge method and the consistent splitting method. We gather theoretical results of them and conclude that the results are also valid on other equivalent methods.
HOMOMORPHISMS IN PROPER LIE CQ*-ALGEBRAS
Lee, Jung Rye,Shin, Dong Yun The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2011 한국수학논문집 Vol.19 No.1
Using the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability method of functional equations, we investigate homomorphisms in proper $CQ^*$-algebras and proper Lie $CQ^*$-algebras, and derivations on proper $CQ^*$-algebras and proper Lie $CQ^*$-algebras associated with the following functional equation $$\frac{1}{k}f(kx+ky+kz)=f(x)+f(y)+f(z)$$ for a fixed positive integer $k$.
A STUDY OF GENERALIZED ADAMS-MOULTON METHOD FOR THE SATELLITE ORBIT DETERMINATION PROBLEM
Hong, Bum Il,Hahm, Nahmwoo The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2013 한국수학논문집 Vol.21 No.3
In this paper, a generalized Adams-Moulton method that is a $m$-step method derived by using the Taylor's series is proposed to solve the satellite orbit determination problem. We show that our proposed method has produced much smaller error than the original Adams-Moulton method. Finally, the accuracy performance is demonstrated in the satellite orbit correction problem by giving a numerical example.
