In this study, a restoring viscous damper is introduced for X-type damper system which is designed for the seismic response control of large spatial structures. A nonlinear numerical model for its behavior is developed using the result of dynamic loading tests. The X-type damper system is composed of restoring viscous dampers and connecting devices such as adjustable wire bracing, where the damping capacity of the system is controllable by changing the number of the dampers. The restoring viscous damper is devised to exert main damping force in tension direction, which is effective to prevent the buckling of bracing subjected to compressive axial force. To evaluate the performance of the proposed damper, dynamic cyclic loading tests are performed by using manufactured dampers at full scale. In order to construct the numerical model of the damper system, its model parameters are first identified using a nonlinear curve fitting method with the test data. The numerical simulations are then performed to validate the accuracy of the numerical model in comparison with the experimental test results. It is expected that the proposed system is effectively applicable to various building structures for seismic performance enhancement.

This article focuses on the implementation of a new transcultural law clinic that will offer supervised translating/interpreting services to persons who do not speak the language and are suspected or accused of a crime. The clinic was implemented as part of the international project ‘TransLaw. Exploring Legal Interpreting Service Paths and Transcultural Law Clinics for persons suspected or accused of a crime’ (2018-2019). The article covers the implementation and piloting phase of the Transcultural Law Clinic at the University of Maribor in Slovenia, which involved the cooperation of translating and interpreting students with law students. The empirical part of this research focuses on the importance of self-reflective and observational techniques and how they may be incorporated into the practice of interpreting and law students. To collect the data, we used observation logs, which helped students gain a better understanding of the learning and knowledge they had acquired during the observational process (Jarvis, 2001). Observation logs were structured and developed to use during: (a) the observation of interpreted trials and (b) translating workshops in which translating/interpreting students and law students worked together. The results of this study support key suggestions in the literature: that interpreters should be motivated to improve their expertise by improving their skills through self-reflective practices and via supports such as ongoing mentorship, training and professional development. The results also support our argument that translating and interpreting students can be successfully trained together with law students and that both groups can and should be motivated to improve their skills through self-reflective practices.
A new synonymy in East Asian Urostylididae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera)
ZHOU, YANYAN,RÉ,DEI, DÁ,VID Magnolia Press 2018 Zootaxa Vol.4504 No.1

Urostylididae is a moderately species-rich family of phytophagous, mainly arboricolous pentatomoid true bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) currently comprising 8 genera and 172 species (Rider et al. 2018). All described species occur in Asia, but undescribed taxa are present in Madagascar (P. Štys, pers. comm.). The present short paper was prompted by a recent contribution by Kim et al. (2018), who reviewed the species of the genus Urostylis Westwood, 1837, occurring in Korea, including the description of a purportedly new species, U. koreana Kim & Jung, 2018. The identity of the latter species is clarified below, with proposal of a new subjective synonymy.

HALLYU IN THE HEART OF EUROPE: A MODEL OF CONSEQUENCIES OF DIGITAL SPACE ON HUNGARIAN FANS
Annam?ria Sasn? Gr?sz,D?vid M?t? Hargitai,Zs?fia Sas 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2023 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2023 No.07
Hallyu, as a cultural phenomenon affects not only openness for Korean culture, but also influence buying behaviour of fans. Hungarian society is also affected by K-pop and K-drama, therefore significance of K-pop related characteristics of digital space (such as fear of missing out, peer pressure and fandoms) were examined in this study. Authors developed a model how these elements are connected to purchase intension of Hungarian fans.

This paper presents the dynamic characteristics of MR impact damper for vehicle collision system. Various types of mechanism have been proposed to reduce force transmitted to the vehicle chassis and finally to protect occupants from injury. In the case of head-on collision, the bumper makes main role of isolation material for collision attenuation. In this study, the proposed bumper system consists of MR impact damper and structures. The MR impact damper utilizes MR fluid which has reversible properties with applied magnetic field. The MR fluid operates under flow mode. The bellows is used for generation of fluid flow. A mathematical model of the MR impact damper is derived incorporating with Bingham model of the MR fluid. Field dependent damping force is investigated with time and frequency domain. The MR impact damper is then incorporated with vehicle crash system. The governing equation of motion of vehicle model is formulated considering occupant model. Dynamic characteristics of vehicle collision system investigated with computer simulation.
The genus Arocatus in Taiwan (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeidae)
TSAI, JING-FU,RÉ,DEI, DÁ,VID Magnolia Press 2017 Zootaxa Vol.4299 No.2

Species of the genus Arocatus Spinola, 1837 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeidae: Lygaeinae) occurring in Taiwan are reviewed, illustrated and keyed. Arocatus elegantulus sp. nov. is described; earlier records of Caenocoris dimidiatus Breddin, 1907 from Taiwan and the Ryukyu Archipelago of Japan pertain to this new species. Arocatus pseudosericans Gao, Kondorosy & Bu, 2013 and A. nanus (Breddin, 1900) are recorded for the first time from Taiwan; earlier records of A. sericans (Stål, 1859) pertain to A. pseudosericans. The distribution of A. sericans and A. pseudosericans in Japan and Korea and the intraspecific variability of A. pseudosericans are discussed. The identification problems of the genera Arocatus, Caenocoris Fieber, 1860 and Thunbergia Horváth, 1914 are highlighted, the external male genitalia of T. cf. marginata (Thunberg, 1822) are described and illustrated, and diagnostic characters potentially suitable for distinguishing Thunbergia from Arocatus are provided.

Receptor activator of nuclear factor κB ligand (RANKL) plays a crucial role in bone metabolism. RANKL gene misregulation has been implicated in several bone and cancer diseases. Here, we aimed to identify novel transcription regulators of RANKL expression. We discovered that transcription factors, sex-determining region Y (SRY) and c-Myb, regulate RANKL expression. We demonstrated that c-Myb increases and male-specific SRY decreases RANKL expression through direct binding to its 5’-proximal promoter. These results are corroborated by the gene expression in human bone samples. In osteoporotic men, expression of RANKL is 17-fold higher, which correlates with the drastically reduced expression (200-fold) of Sry, suggesting that in osteoporotic men, the upregulation of RANKL is caused by a decrease of Sry. In healthy men, the expression of RANKL is 20% higher than that in healthy women. Our data suggest that gender differences in RANKL expression and bone quality could be due to the sex-specific transcription factor SRY.
