Factors Affecting Entrepreneurial Intention of College Students: An Empirical Study from Vietnam

Thi Thuy An NGO,Phuong Thao TRUONG,Yen Linh TRAN,Thao Vy TRAN,Ngoc Tram TRAN,Ai My HUYNH,Thanh Truc HUYNH 한국유통과학회 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.5

The study aims to identify factors that influence university and college students’ entrepreneurial intentions in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta region. The study examines entrepreneurship mindset, subjective norm, capital sources, concept development assistance, personality qualities, and perceived behavioral control of university support for a student’s entrepreneurial aim. The research was conducted according to the quantitative method. The data was collected through an online survey with a sample size of 611 students from 19 universities and colleges in the Mekong Delta region. The methods that test the scale, including Cronbach Alpha Test, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), are used to consider the correlation between the influence factors. The results of SEM analysis show that there are five main factors affecting students’ entrepreneurial intention with decreasing level of influence, including the source of capital, perceived behavioral control, business development support, entrepreneurial attitude, and educational support. Besides, the results indicate that the subjective norm, personality traits, and concept development support have no impact on the intention of students toward entrepreneurship. The research also reveals that the entrepreneurial intention of students at universities and colleges has a positive relationship and is significantly affected by capital source and perceived behavioral control.

Targeted and controlled drug delivery by multifunctional mesoporous silica nanoparticles with internal fluorescent conjugates and external polydopamine and graphene oxide layers

        Tran, Anh-Vy,Shim, KyuHwan,Vo Thi, Thu-Thao,Kook, Jeong-Keun,An, Seong Soo A.,Lee, Sang-Wha Elsevier 2018 ACTA BIOMATERIALIA Vol.74 No.-

Abstract

This study demonstrated the targeted delivery and controlled release of cisplatin drug molecules from doubly decorated mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs), which were internally grafted with fluorescent conjugates and externally coated with polydopamine (PDA) and graphene oxide (GO) layers. The brush-like internal conjugates conferred fluorescent functionality and high capacity of cisplatin loading into MSNs, as well as contributing to a sustained release of the cisplatin through a porous channel with the assistance of external PDA layer. A consolidated double-layer formed by electrostatic interactions between the GO nanosheet and the PDA layer induced more controlled release kinetics which was well predicted by Higuchi model. In addition, Our MSNs exhibited stimuli (pH, NIR irradiation)-responsive controlled release as a potential chemo-photothermal agent against cancer cells. In a cell test, multifunctional MSNs showed a low toxicity itself, but gave a high cytotoxicity against human epithelial neuroblastoma cells (SH-SY5Y) after loading cisplatin. Notably, GO-wrapped MSNs exhibited very effective drug delivery because GO wrapping enhanced their dispensability in aqueous solution, photothermal heating effect, and efficient endocytosis into cells. Furthermore, monoclonal antibody (anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor)-conjugated MSNs showed a higher specificity, which resulted in more enhanced anticancer effects in vitro. The current study demonstrated a reliable synthesis of multifunctional MSNs, endowed with fluorescent imaging, stimuli-responsive controlled release, higher specificity, and efficient cytotoxicity toward cancer cells.

Statement of Significance

The current study demonstrated the reliable synthesis of multifunctional mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) with internal fluorescent conjugates and external polydopamine and graphene oxide (GO) layers. The combination of internal conjugates and external coating layers produced an effective pore closure effect, leading to controlled and sustained release of small drug molecules. Notably, GO wrapping improved the dispensability and cellular uptake of the MSNs, as well as enhanced drug-controlled release. Our multifunctional MSNs revealed very efficient drug delivery effects against human epithelial neuroblastoma cells by demonstrating several strengths: i) fluorescent imaging, ii) sustained and controlled release of small drug molecules, iii) efficient cellular uptake, cytotoxicity and specificity, and v) stimuli (pH, NIR irradiation)-responsive controlled release as a potential chemo-photothermal agent.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

The Effect of Institutional Capability on Entrepreneurship Education: An Empirical Study of Vietnamese Universities

Trong Luan NGUYEN,Trung Hau NGUYEN,Thao Vy THACH,Doan Vy TRAN,Nguyen Huong Giang HOANG,Ngoc Phuong Trang PHAM 한국유통과학회 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.1

Entrepreneurs are valuable assets for any country. Rather than being confronted with new obstacles, they should be fostered and nurtured. Entrepreneurial firms have the power to influence how we live and work, in addition to producing jobs and contributing to economic progress. Entrepreneurs have the ability to change the world by creating diversified skill sets and profitable businesses that are vital to the advancement of our economies. How does one go about being a successful business, though? More resources are believed to be needed to create entrepreneurial environments in higher education that foster progressive ideas and innovation while also providing students with the practical knowledge and skills they need to navigate the troublesome, difficult, and uncertain situations that come with owning a business. This article will outline the scales of components from which to measure variables impacting universities’ ability to encourage entrepreneurial behavior among students, based on the aforementioned significance of universities. This article is based on a survey of 507 students from different universities and backgrounds in Vietnam. The research methods used are Cronbach’s alpha test and Structural Equation Modeling. From the research results, it can be seen that the university’s environment plays a significant role in fostering entrepreneurial behavior among students.

The Impact of Brand Equity on Consumer Intention: A Case Study for COVID-19 Vaccine Products in Vietnam

VO, Minh Sang,NGUYEN, Trung Hau,THACH, Thao Vy,TRAN, Doan Vy,HOANG, Nguyen Huong Giang,PHAM, Ngoc Phuong Trang Korea Distribution Science Association 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.7

Maintaining and expanding brand equity is regarded as an essential component of brand development. Effective management of brand equity leads to more opportunities for brand extension and the ability to draw in more customers. Brand equity, in particular, has a positive impact on consumer purchase intention. The purpose of this study is to look into the relationships between brand equity and consumption intention from the perspective of Vietnamese customers of India's COVID-19 vaccine products. Primary data is aggregated from 475 Vietnamese citizens with different occupations and backgrounds 18 years of age or older. The findings of the study show that consumption intention is positively inspired by brand equity, including brand association and brand quality. If consumers perceive high brand equity, it will have a higher impact on promoting consumption intention to the brand. India's COVID-19 vaccine needs to invest more in building brand equity in the Vietnamese market if it wants to increase the consumption choices of Vietnamese people. To create a good brand association and brand quality for India's COVID-19 vaccine, it is necessary to focus on communicating the good properties of the Indian-made vaccine such as safe, high protective effect, high immunity and protection, and long duration of immunity of vaccines.

Minh Sang VO,Trung Hau NGUYEN,Thao Vy THACH,Doan Vy TRAN,Nguyen Huong Giang HOANG,Ngoc Phuong Trang PHAM 한국유통과학회 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.4

Many factors influence brand trust, including manufacturer prestige, product value and quality, country of origin, media marketing, experience, and brand relationship. The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of the nation of origin on brand trust, using Vietnam as a case study for India’s COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 407 Vietnamese people aged 18 and up participated in the survey. The findings of the study show that the nation of origin has a significant impact on brand trust. Specifically, the perceived country image has a negative effect on brand trust, the other two components of the country of origin are perceived value and perceived quality of product have a positive impact on brand trust in India’s COVID-19 vaccine. Research results show that if the perceived country image of the country of production is perceived negatively, then there will be a negative impact on brand trust. According to research findings, people in Vietnam who are 30 years old or older, have steady occupations, know about India, have used Indian products in the past, and have strong brand trust in India’s COVID-19 vaccinations. India needs to boost its country’s image and develop communication to increase brand trust in Vietnam.
