Starting of Sensorless DC Motor
Takaharu Takeshita,Nobuyuki Matsui 전력전자학회 1992 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.1992 No.4
The paper describes a starting method of the brushless DC motor without position and speed sensors Before starting, the controller gives a fixed PWM pattern so that the rotor settles to the pre-determined position. After this operation, the brushless motor can start with ordinary control process without position and speed sensors. The simulation and the experimental results show that the superior characteristics can be obtained by using the proposed sensorless algorithm.<br/>
Takaharu Takeshita 전력전자학회 2007 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.- No.-
This paper presents diode rectifier circuits with commutation capacitors in the three-phase rectangular-waveform distribution system. The commutation capacitors can improve the input total power factor and realize the zero voltage switching of the diodes. From the analysis, the authors also propose the design method of the rectifier circuit. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, the experimental characteristics of the rectifier circuit have been shown.
AC/DC Converter Using Modular Matrix Converter for Quick Battery Charger
Kazuma Suzuki,Takaharu Takeshita 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
The authors propose the isolated AC/DC converter using a modular matrix converter as a quick charger. This converter has a high-frequency transformer instead of a commercial-frequency transformer. The volume and weight of the proposed system become much smaller than those of the system using the commercial-frequency transformer. Because the proposed converter can directly charge the battery from the input medium voltage such as 6.6 kV, a pole transformer is not required and the system including the distribution system can be downsized. The operation principle and control method of the proposed converter are explained. The effectiveness of the proposed circuit was verified by using 200 V laboratory prototype.
PWM Strategy of Matrix Converters for Reducing Input Current Harmonics and Number of Commutations
Hiromitsu Fukagawa,Takaharu Takeshita 전력전자학회 2011 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2011 No.5
This paper presents a PWM strategy of matrix converters for minimizing input current harmonics. The PWM strategy which has only four commutations in all three phases during one control period is proposed. The PWM patterns for reducing the input current harmonics are indicated. The PWM pattern selection algorithm based on instantaneous effective value for minimizing the input current harmonics is derived. The effectiveness of the proposed PWM strategy has been verified by experiments.

Kazuki Kuwana,Yuki Kawamura,Wataru Kitagawa,Takaharu takeshita 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
This paper describes the modeling method to simulate conducted noises on isolated AC/DC converter using SiC devices. The equivalent circuit in simulation is calculated from measurement of leakage current. The modeling circuits of simulation are constituted RLC circuits and step voltage sources. This paper mentions higher precision modeling circuit considering switching characteristics which is voltage fraction time of switching.
Junpei Isozaki,Balaji Veerasamy,Wataru Kitagawa,Takaharu Takeshita 전력전자학회 2015 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2015 No.6
This paper presents duality of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) strategies for reducing the DC ripples between current and voltage source AC/DC converters. The authors propose the PWM strategy of a voltage source converter for reducing the DC current ripples using the PWM strategy of a current source converter. The validity of the duality of the PWM strategies between current and voltage source converters is verified by experiments.

Wataru Kitagawa,Kohei Mitani,Yuki Kawamura,Takaharu Takeshita 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
This paper presents method for deriving equivalent circuit of conducted noise occurred by the switching on isolated AC/DC converter. The simulation of the disturbance voltage is executed by using derived equivalent circuit. By confirming that the simulation results agree with the measurement results, the availability of proposed method is verified. The EMI filters are modeled by RLC circuit. By inserting the model, the simulation of the disturbance voltage is executed. By confirming that the simulation result agrees with the measurement result, the validity of equivalent circuit parameters is verified. In addition, the EMI filter is designed by the simulation result. The experiment with the EMI filter is executed. The noise level with the EMI filter are within the limit value (CISPR11) in all frequency ranges.
