The coupled global climate model EC-Earth has been used to create an ensemble of climate simulations for 1850 to 2100. For 1850 to 2005 observed greenhouse gas and aerosol concentrations including observed volcanic eruptions have been prescribed while for 2006 to 2100 two different scenarios, the RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios developed for CMIP5, the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project 5, have been applied. Global and European mean temperature as well as extreme cold and hot events for Europe have been compared to a range of observation data and analyzed for the future. The global and European mean temperature development for 1850 to 2005 is well captured in the EC-Earth simulations. The intensity of extreme cold and extreme hot events, defined as 1% percentile of daily minimum temperature for winter and 99% percentile of daily maximum temperature for summer, is generally fairly well captured for continental regions while underestimated by up to 5°C in maritime regions. For the future, a decrease in the intensity of extreme cold events and an increase in the intensity of extreme hot events is simulated. According to the stronger RCP 8.5 scenario the 1% percentile of daily minimum temperature for winter increases by up to 25°C in the Barents Sea region by the end of this century while the 99% percentile of daily maximum temperature for summer increases by up to 8°C over Southern Europe.

용서프로그램이 시설거주 노인의 영적 안녕과 자아통합에 미치는 영향

The present study investigated the effects of forgiveness enhancement program on anger, spiritual well-being, and ego integrity of elderly people residing in facilities. Twenty-eight elderly people living in a senior care center who participated in the study were randomly assigned to experimental and control group. The forgiveness enhancement program consisted of 8 sessions, each of which was administered to the experimental group for 70 mins per week. The main results of the study were as follows. Firstly, the program used in this study was proven to be effective in enhancing the forgiveness of the elderly people. Following completion of the program the forgiveness level increased only for the elderly people in the experimental group. Secondly, following the program elderly people in the experimental group showed decreased level of anger expression and increased level of anger control, whereas the control group showed no such changes. Thirdly, the scores of both spiritual well-being and ego integrity increased for those in the experimental group whereas no changes were found in the scores of control group. These results provide preliminary data to develop forgiveness enhancement program for elderly people, especially those living in poor conditions such as nursing homes, the program which would help healing past wounds and looking back one's life positively, therefore supporting the elderly people to lead a happy and satisfactory life for the remaining years. 본 연구에서는 용서프로그램이 시설거주 노인들의 분노수준, 영적안녕과 자아통합에어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 노인전문요양원에 거주하고 있는 노인 28명을 대상으로 총 8회기에 걸쳐 용서프로그램을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구에서 사용한 용서프로그램은 시설거주 노인들의 용서수준을 증진하는효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 즉 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단 노인들만이 프로그램 종료 후에 용서수준이 증가하였다. 둘째, 실험집단 노인들은 프로그램 후에 분노표현이 감소하고 분노조절이 증가하는 경향을 보였으나, 통제집단은 그러한 변화를 보이지 않았다. 셋째, 실험집단 노인들은 프로그램 후에 영적안녕과 자아통합 점수가 증가하였으나통제집단은 이 두 점수에 변화가 없었다. 이러한 결과는 용서프로그램이 시설거주 노인의 정신건강과 대인관계의 개선에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있으며 그 결과 이 노인들이 여생을 좀 더 행복하고 편안하게 살아가도록 도와줄 수 있다는 것을 보여준다.
