Scaling Network Information Services to Support HetNets and Dynamic Spectrum Access
Piri, Esa,Schulzrinne, Henning The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2014 Journal of communications and networks Vol.16 No.2
Wireless network information services allow end systems to discover heterogeneous networks and spectrum available for secondary use at or near their current location, helping them to cope with increasing traffic and finite spectrum resources. We propose a unified architecture that allows end systems to find nearby base stations that are using either licensed, shared or unlicensed spectrum across multiple network operators. Our study evaluates the performance and scalability of spatial databases storing base station coverage area geometries. The measurement results indicate that the current spatial databases perform well even when the number of coverage areas is very large. A single logical spatial database would likely be able to satisfy the query load for a large national cellular network. We also observe that coarse geographic divisions can significantly improve query performance.
SOLUTIONS OF SYSTEMS OF VARIATIONAL INEQUALITIES ON FIXED POINTS OF NONEXPANSIVE MAPPINGS
Piri, Hossein Korean Mathematical Society 2014 대한수학회보 Vol.51 No.3
In this paper, we introduce a new approximating method for finding the common element of the set of fixed points of nonexpansive mappings and the set of solution of system variational inequalities for finite family of inverse strongly monotone mappings and strictly pseudo-contractive of Browder-Petryshyn type mappings. We show that the sequence converges strongly to a common element the above two sets under some parameter controling conditions. Our results improve and extend the results announced by many others.
Perfect 2-Colorings of k-Regular Graphs
Piri, Farzaneh,Semnani, Saeed Mohammadian Department of Mathematics 2020 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.60 No.2
We study perfect 2-colorings of regular graphs. In particular, we consider the 4-regular case. We obtain a characterization of perfect 2-colorings of toroidal grids.
Ki-67/MIB-1 as a Prognostic Marker in Cervical Cancer - a Systematic Review with Meta-Analysis
Piri, Reza,Ghaffari, Alireza,Gholami, Nasrin,Azami-Aghdash, Saber,PourAli-Akbar, Yasmin,Saleh, Parviz,Naghavi-Behzad, Mohammad Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.16
Background: In cervical cancer patients it has been reported that there in a significant Ki-67/MIB-1 expression is correlated with survival in cervical cancer patients. However, the prognostic value is still not well understood. Materials and Methods: In the present meta-analysis the prognostic value of Ki-67/MIB-1 with regard to overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) in cervical cancer was investigated. The databases of PubMed, ISI Web of Science, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, EMBASE, Science Direct and Wiley Online Library were used to identify appropriate literature. Results: In order to explore the relationship between Ki-67/MIB-1 and cervical cancer, we have included 13 studies covering 894 patients in the current meta-analysis. The effect of Ki-67/MIB-1 on OS for pooled random effects HR estimate was 1.63 (95%confidence interval (CI) 1.09-2.45; P<0.05). The pooled HR for DFS was 1.26 (95%CI 0.58-2.73; P>0.05) and the subgroup analysis indicated Ki-67/MIB1 was associated with DFS (HR=3.67, 95%CI 2.65-5.09) in Asians. Conclusions: According to this meta-analysis, Ki-67/MIB-1 has prognostic value for OS in patients suffering from cervical cancer. For better evaluation of the prognostic role of Ki-67/MIB-1 on DFS, studies with larger numbers of patients are needed to validate present findings in the future.

TOPICS ON FUNDAMENTAL TOPOLOGICAL ALGEBRAS
ANSARI-PIRI, E. 호남수학회 2001 한국수학학술지 Vol.23 No.1
A class of topological algebras, which we call it a fundamental one, has already been introduced to generalize the locally bounded and locally convex algebras. To prove the basic theorems on fundamental algebras, the first successful step is the new version of the Cohen factorization theorem. Here we recall it and prove some new results on fundamental topological algebras.
A note on muyltiplicative and almost mulitiplicative linear maps
Ansari-Piri, E.,Eghbali, N. 호남수학회 2005 호남수학학술지 Vol.27 No.4
This note is a verification on the relations between multiplicative and almost multiplicative linear maps; and the continuity of almost multiplicative linear maps.
COMPLETION OF FUNDAMENTAL TOPOLOGICAL VECTOR SPACES
ANSARI-PIRI, E. The Honam Mathematical Society 2004 호남수학학술지 Vol.26 No.1
A class of topological algebras, which we call it a fundamental one, has already been introduced generalizing the famous Cohen factorization theorem to more general topological algebras. To prove the generalized versions of Cohen's theorem to locally multilplicatively convex algebras, and finally to fundamental topological algebras, the completness of the background spaces is one of the main conditions. The local convexity of the completion of a locally convex space is a well known fact and here we have a discussion on the completness of fundamental metrizable topological vector spaces.

A NOTE ON STAR TOPOLOGICAL ALGEBRAS
ANSARI-PIRI, E. The Honam Mathematical Society 2005 호남수학학술지 Vol.27 No.1
$C^*$-algebras which are closed sub-algebras of Banach algebras have been studied many years ago. In this note we extend the main definition of $C^*$-algebras to metrizable topological algebras.
