        Goldman Sachs recently laid off 598 top talents, while Google and NASA established a singularity university. As we enter the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, each company and university is nurturing talent for the age of artificial intelligence(AI). As factories and various facilities are automated and AI and the Internet of Things (IoT) enter homes and businesses, interest in automation is gradually increasing, and AI robots are replacing human jobs. Therefore, a study was conducted on the implementation of a sorting robot for smart factory automation. The hardware of the robot was realized using TETRIX, and it was configured to recognize the color of blocks and classify the object using NXT color sensors. The color sensor is used to determine the type of a block and a linetracer is to help figure out location, and the block was placed in the right place. The control program was implemented using LabVIEW, and the NXT was implemented to control the robot through the signal obtained from the color sensor.

        Predation of the Japanese keelback (Hebius vibakari Boie, 1826) by the Slender racer (Orientocoluber spinalis Peters, 1866)

        Background: The Slender racer (Orientocoluber spinalis Peters, 1866) has recently been reclassified to the new genus Orientocoluber from Hierophis. Ecological knowledge of this species is limited due to its highly mobile behavior. On 17 July 2020, we captured a female O. spinalis on Oeyeon Island, Boryeong-si, Republic of Korea, and collected its feces for a diet analysis. We observed snake scales from the collected feces and subsequently determined the prey species through morphological and molecular methods. Results: We initially hypothesized that the extracted fecal sample scales belonged to H. vibakari, due to their thin keel and rhombus shape. We also amplified H. vibakari DNA from the extracted fecal sample using Illumina sequencing methods. Our morphological and molecular results suggest that O. spinalis predates H. vibakari on Oeyeon Island. Conclusion: This is the first report of O. spinalis predating another snake species, ophiophagy, and implies that H. vibakari may be a crucial prey item for O. spinalis on Oeyeon Island.

      • Experimental Investigation on Conduction-Cooled Fast-Ramping Layer-Wound (RE)BCO Superconducting Magnet for Magnetic Refrigeration

        <P>Magnetic refrigeration requires a strong magnetic field and its alternation for the magnetization and demagnetization processes. A conduction-cooled (RE)BCO coil was designed and fabricated to exert the maximum central magnetic field of 3.5 T with a field homogeneity of 90% on the magnetic refrigerant bed for an adiabatic demagnetization refrigerator (ADR) operating between 22 and 20 K. The polyimide tape insulated (RE)BCO tape conductor was wound on the stainless steel bobbin with standard layer-wound method whose outer diameter and thickness were 25.4 and 0.3 mm, respectively. The fast-ramping (RE)BCO coil was conductively cooled by a GM cryocooler to approximately 20 K. The (RE)BCO coil winding has a novel thermal drain structure to withstand the high thermal loads during alternating current (AC) operation which consists of high purity copper strip arrays installed between the inter-layers of the coil winding. Alternating magnetic field was stably generated with the peak of 3.0 T at the current of 130 A (10.5 A s<SUP>-1</SUP>). In this paper, the technical issues regarding to the fast-ramping conduction-cooled (RE) BCO coil itself and the integrated operation with the magnetic refrigeration system are discussed.</P>

        The purpose of this project is to seek strategic response for the Korea Expressway Corporation(hereinafter referred to as Public corporation) about the change of the fourth industrial revolution. For this purpose, the project scope has 3 phase. 1. Characteristic of the 4thindustrial revolution and the trend of major change. 2. Prospect of Future Expressway and changes related industry. 3. Publiccorporation’s Short-term strategy and detailed challenges. Also, The Project analyzes the KDF and patterns, which directly/indirectly affect the Public Corporation with change of 4th industrial revolution. As a result, Making a Mid-term and Short-term strategy for respond to future change with Structuring Causal Relationships and Deriving Future Scenarios. Moreover, we focuses on a shift in the number of key changes in the 4th industrial revolution and the first consideration to derive a significant change in the direction of change in the 4th century, focusing on trends that will not change the trend in 10 years, rather than 10 years later. First, The 4th industry revolution is not just point of view that integration of technology such as IOT,AI but Motivation that Creating the innovation in the whole society with huge change of social system. So executing Macroscopic analysis for formation of sympathy. Second, creates core changes drivers individual, businesses, and national level drivers in future trends. And the strategic direction that road's role and function at future society are reflected in the public corporation's strategic tasks. Thrid, For prospect of future expressway, reviewing public corporation's existing research data. As a result, Preventing duplicate researches and enhance research efficiency. Fourth, an analysis of the present situation Through expert review of the 4th industry revolution and future development direction by convergence based on a current road map. Considering the change in the social and social environment, prospect future outlook with Deduction of change drivers that will not changed after 10years. Fifth, focus on human desires and values, technological innovation, solving problems, converging technology culture, solving social issues, and responding to changes in social issues. In order to realize this, it is possible to communicate in storytelling so that ordinary people can easily understand the changes in the area. Based on the scenario, we prepared for the future of the Korea Expressway Corporation by setting up a total of 15 detailed tasks based on the scenario and the fact that 15 different aspects of the project are based on the scenario.

        A review on a 4 K cryogenic refrigeration system for quantum computing

        This paper reviews the literature that has been published since 1980s related to cryogenic refrigeration systems for quantumcomputing. The reason why such a temperature level of 10-20 mK is necessary for quantum computing is that the superconductingqubit is sensitive to even very small thermal disturbances. The entanglement of the qubits may not be sustained due to thermalfluctuations and mechanical vibrations beyond their thresholds. This phenomenon is referred to as decoherence, and it causes ancomputation error in operation. For the stable operation of the quantum computer, a low-vibration cryogenic refrigeration system isimperative as an enabling technology. Conventional dilution refrigerators (DR), so called ‘wet’ DR, are precooled by liquid helium,but a more convenient and economical precooling method can be achieved by using a mechanical refrigerator instead of liquidcryogen. These ‘dry’ DRs typically equip pulse-tube refrigerators (PTR) for precooling the DRs around 4 K because of its particularadvantage of low vibration characteristic. In this review paper, we have focused on the development status of 4 K PTRs and furtherpotential development issues will be also discussed. A quiet 4 K refrigerator not only serves as an indispensable precooler of DRbut also immediately enhances the characteristics of low noise amplifiers (LNA) or other cryo-electronics of various type quantumcomputers.

        Theoretical Study on the Reaction of p-Cymene with Ozone

        Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) react with atmospheric OH, NO3, and O3 to form compounds having lower volatility, contributing to secondary organic aerosols (SOAs). Consequently, characterizing the reaction intermediate for this reaction is essential for modeling the formation of SOAs. Herein, we proposed a mechanism for the ozonolysis of p-cymene and calculated the energies of the intermediates generated during each step by density functional theory (DFT). According to our calculation, high-energy biradicals were produced in the ozonolysis of p-cymene, which plays an important role in the formation of SOAs, thereby affecting the climate and air quality.

        CONTINUOUS THERMODYNAMICS OF PHASE EQUILIBRIA USING THE BETA DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION AND AN EQUATION OF STATE

        Phase equilibrium calculation involving mixtures of very many components requires significant amounts of computation time. In this paper we considered the description of such mixtures as a collection of discrete components and a continuum distribution of species represented by the beta distribution function. Calculations are performed using the method of continuous thermodynamics and the Soave-Redlich-Kwong equation of state. Comparisons were made with the pseudocomponent method and gamma distribution function. The results showed that continuous thermodynamics with beta distribution function leads to better prediction of phase equilibria and shorter computing time compared to pseudocomponents. And more reasonable results were obtained by this method because of the flexibility of beta distribution function.
