The image with non-contact and non-destructive measurement methods, might provide advantage to analyze and evaluate the condition of crops. It is necessary to develop a device for monitoring crops under the vinyl mulch which was protected from wild bird and weed control. Using digital image processing, the monitoring device for crops under the vinyl was developed. The monitoring system measured temperature distribution between soil and crops using an infrared temperature sensor. Based on the measured data analysis, the location of the crop under the vinyl mulch were estimated.

재식된 상악 중절치의 장기간에 걸친 추적례 : A 8-YEAR FOLLOW UP

완전 탈구된 치아의 치료 목적은 치주인대 세포의 손상과 치수 조직의 감염에 의한 염증 반응을 예방하거나 최소화하는 것이다. 치주인대 세포의 생활력은 완전 탈구된 치아의 예후에 있어 중요한 요소인데 치주인대 세포가 생활력을 유지하는 경우 재식시 재부착을 하게 되어 최소한의 염증반응 후 신생 백악질로 회복되지만, 생활력을 상실하게 되면 심한 염증반응을 야기하게 되어 광범위한 치근 흡수와 유착이 나타나게 된다. 치근이 유착되면 특히 성장하는 어린이일 경우 치조돌기의 성장을 방해하여 저위교합을 유발하게 된다. 또한 광범위한 치근 흡수나 유착으로 인한 치아의 조기 상실은 치조골의 흡수와 인접치의 지속적인 이동을 야기하여 기능적, 심미적인 문제를 발생케 한다. 본 증례는 상악 우측 중절치의 완전 탈구 후 재식한 후 항생제 투여 및 장기간의 수산화 칼슘 적용을 통해 9년에 걸쳐 기능적, 심미적으로 양호한 결과를 얻었기에 이에 보고하는 바이다. Tooth avulsion usually causes inflammatory root resorption and ankylosis, and ankylosis cause severe functional and esthetic problems, especially in childhood. A 7-year-old female visited the Dept. of Pediatric Dentistry, Yonsei University with the chief complaint of avulsive trauma to the upper right incisor which was left dry for 40 minutes. Tooth was irrigated with saline and replanted immediately and splinted. Anti bacterial agent and anti inflammatory agent were prescribed. After 4 months of replantation slight external root resorption and apical radiolucency was seen at radiographic examination, therfore pulp extirpation and calcium hydroxide(Vitapex^(TM)) canal filling were carried out. After 16 months, root canal was filled with gutta-percha, and bleaching treatment was done. Treatment results were satisfactory both esthetically and functionally for 8 years and 5 months.

고령에서 발생한 불안정성 대퇴골 전자부 골절의 인공 관절 반치환술을 이용한 치료 : 단기 추시 결과

Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate the short-term results and complications of treating the intertrochanteric fracture with bipolar hemiarthroplasty (BHA) in elderly population. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 31 unstable intertrochanteric fracture patients who were treated with BHA between January 2007 and August 2009 in older populations more than 65 years old. The 6 males and 25 females had a mean age of 79.8 years (range: 66-88) and a mean follow-up of 36.3 months (range: 24-55). We analyzed the radiological outcomes, functional recovery grade, using Jensen’s social function score and Harris hip score (HHS), and complications. Results: The average operation time and blood loss was 148.9 min (range, 110-215 min) and 455.2 mL (range, 200-1200 mL). Mean preoperative and postoperative hemoglobin (Hb) was 10.9 g/dL (range, 8.6-13.4 g/dL) and 10.5 g/dL (range, 5.1-14.1 g/dL) respectively. Average 1.3 pints of blood transfusion was performed. Ambulation with (or without) crutch was possible at mean 6.8 days postoperatively. The stability and alignment indices were adequate in all cases at final follow-up. On clinical results, the average HHS score, was changed from 79.7 points (range, 44-100) preoperatively to 73.0 points (range, 46-92) postoperatively, and the preoperative and postoperative Jensen’s score was 1.8 (range, 1-3) and 2.1 (range, 1-4) respectively. Conclusions: The BHA is an acceptable alternative for unstable intertrochanteric fractures in older population.

강판전단벽 거동의 실험적 기초 연구

Generally, shear wall system appears to resist the lateral loads, because high-rise buildings require satisfaction of building drift limit due to lateral loads. However shear wall system used mostly concrete, in this paper steel plate shear wall use to resist the lateral loads instead of reinforced concrete wall system. But, there is lack of research and understanding of steel plate shear wall system so that no real building of such system exists in Korea. This paper demonstrates stability and serviceability of steel plate shear wall by preliminary experimental test.

Tuberculosis of duodenum is so rare and is usually secondary to pulmonary or intestinal tuberculosis . It is difficult to diagnose duodenal tuberculosis in clinical and radiologic findings due to its non-specific symptoms and inconsistent lesion. The diagnosis was made on the basis of the histological study of the endoscopic biopsy and resected surgical specimen. so we report a case of tuberculosis of duodenal bulb and of ascending colon with, the brief review of the literatures.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the patterns of the health related variables, and physical characteristics and physical fitness of the elderly people in order to provide a exercise program. The data about the health related variables were collected through the personal interview, and the data about physical charateristics and physical fitness (height, weight, % body fat, blood pressure, pulse rate, grip stength, trunk flexion, side step test, 2 min, harvard step test) of 373 elderly people living Seoul and kyungkee area were collected. The conclusions of this study can be summarized as follow; 1. The test results about smoking, drinking, sleeping and self-evaluation of health revealed that the elderly people have self-confidence about their health. 2. Not many elderly people participate the proper exercise program even though they recognize the need of exercise. 3. The results showed that the elderly people do not pay much attention to the intensity of the exercise. 4. Muscle strength training for leg and the lower back and cardio-vascular endurance training was recommended to reduce the risk of varius problems caused by aging. 5. A exercise program was suggested for the elderly people.

Effect of Auditor's Simultaneous Audit and Tax Services and Tax-service Fee on Firm Value: Korea's Evidence

The purpose of this research is to examines the effect of the audit offer and simultaneous tax services from auditors on the firm value of clients. To test this hypothesis, we used the samples of the auditors' tax services selected from firms listed on the securities markets of Korea. We use the methodology of regression analysis. The major findings are as follows. First, TAX_SER has a positive relationship with the firm value. The knowledge and experience resulting from the offer of audit services are applied to the process of offering tax services to enhance the professionalism of audit and tax services. Second, the analysis was performed to determine if the type of tax services from auditors and the type of listed markets make any difference in the effect of TAX_SER1 on TQ; the study has revealed that only tax adjustment has a positive effect on TQ in the type of tax services. Depending on the type of listed markets, TAX_SER1 has been found to have a differential effect on the firm value. The results show that investors might decide to invest in those firms where the auditor could increase the firm value through audit and tax services.

Synthesis of Chroman-2-carboxylic Acid N-(substituted)Pheny-lamides and Their Inhibitory Effect on Nuclear $Factor-{\kappa}B$ ($NF-{\kappa}B$) Activation

A series of chroman-2-carboxylic acid N-(substituted)phenylamides (2a-s, 3a-j) were synthesized. Their ability to inhibit nuclear $factor-{\kappa}B$ ($NF-{\kappa}B$) activity was evaluated in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophage RAW 264.7 cells and their antioxidant activity was examined. $NF-{\kappa}B$ inhibition by chroman compounds was not related to their antioxidant activity. Compounds with -H,$-NO_2$ monosubstituents and $-OCH_3,\;-CF_3$ disubstituents on the phenyl ring were poor inhibitors of $NF-{\kappa}B$ activity. Compounds with $-CH_3,\;-CF_3,\;-CI$ monosubstituents or -CI, $-CH_3$ disubstituents exhibited moderate to good $NF-{\kappa}B$ activity inhibition $(IC_{50}:\;18.2-95.8\;{\mu}M)$. The most active $NF-{\kappa}B$ inhibitor, 2s, contained a 4-CI $(IC_{50}:\;18.2\;{\mu}M)$ substituent on the phenyl ring and was slightly more potent than the compound KL-1156 (1) $(IC_{50}:\;43.9\;{\mu}M)$.

Improvement Plans of Accounting in Korean Casinos: Focus on Promotional Activity Expenses

본 연구는 카지노 산업의 활성화를 위한 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 주요 국가의 카지노 프로모션 회계의 사례에 대한 검토를 통하여 프로모션 활동과 관련된 비용을 중심으로 국내의 카지노 회계의 문제점과 이슈들을 검토하고, 이에 대한 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이에 대한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 카지노 마케팅 활동으로 제공되는 프로모션 쿠폰 및 칩스를 고객이 제출하면 수입금액에 포함하는 동시에 동일금액을 총지급 금액에 포함함으로써 총매출액에 영향을 미치지 못 하게 하는 방안을 제시하였다. 둘째, 프로모션 칩스 및 쿠폰에 해당하는 금액을 총매출액에 포함시키고, 고객이 승리하는 경우 해당 금액을 총매출액에서 차감하는 방안을 제시하였다. 셋째, 고객으로부터 수입한 총수입 중에서 프로모션 칩스 및 쿠폰에 해당하는 금액은 포함하지 않고, 고객이 승리하였을 때 지급하는 금액을 총지불금에 포함하는 방안을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study is to examine the problems and issues of casino accounting in Korea forced on the expenses related to promotional activities through reviewing cases of casino promotional accounting in other major countries and tried to suggest improvement plans for casino accounting in Korea. The results of this study are as follows. First, we suggested that the promotional coupons and chips provided by casino marketing activities should be included in the amount of income when the customer drops it, and at the same time include the same amount in the total payment amount so as not to affect the total sales amount. Second, we included the number of promotional chips and coupons in total sales, and suggested that if the customer wins, the amount would be subtracted from total sales. Third, we proposed to include the amount of money to be paid when the customer wins, not including the amount corresponding to the promoted chips and coupon, from the total income collected from the customer.
