A Study on the Energy Consumption of Energy Poverty Households
Kang-Guk Lee,Gyu-Yeob Jeon,Won-hwa Hong 한국생활환경학회 2017 한국생활환경학회지 Vol.24 No.4
This study was conducted to identify requirements and improvements for policies related to energy welfare by investigating and analyzing household characteristics, residential building information, elements of energy use, and energy welfare status among the energy poverty. In this study, the energy consumption of the energy poverty and support policies are investigated, and characteristics of each are analyzed. The average number of household members in the energy poverty group was 2.3, and the average monthly household income of the households was 93.3 million won. The average expenditure on energy use per year was 947,957 won, which was the highest in January, February, and December. The most desirable energy welfare policy was the reduction or reduction of electricity cost.

The purpose of this study is economic analysis of heating and cooling systems that are using gas, geothermal energy through life cycle cost analysis. The adapted research method selected the office building in Seoul region. The building is 15 stories and have total floor area of 270,000㎡. And the capacity of heating and cooling system applied in new building is 700RT to 750RT as a scale of heating and cooling system that can provide same capacity. The Adapted LCC Analysis period on 40 years. Comparing and analyzing life cycle cost about each heating and cooling system in cases, economical evaluation is estimated. The results are as follows: 1) The total life cycle cost of gas heating and cooling system is approximately 7,979million won, the total life cycle cost of geothermal heating and cooling system is approximately 8,073million won. 2) The cost of the geothermal heating and cooling system is higher than gas heating and cooling system about 1.18%. Thus, optimal plan is the gas heating and cooling system.

Chipped stem wood from Lindera glauca was extracted repeatedly with 80% aqueous methanol at room temperature, and the concentrated methanolic extract was successively partitioned with ethyl acetate (EtOAc), n-butyl alcohol, and H2O. From the EtOAc fraction, four sterols were isolated through a repeated silica gel and octadecyl silica gel column chromatography. The chemical structures of the sterols were elucidated as β-sitosterol (1), 7-ketositosterol (2), 7β-hydroxysitosterol (3), and daucosterol (4). Among them, compounds 2 and 3 were isolated for the first time from the stem woods of this plant.

Aging causes thymus involution, and genes in thymus play an important role in the development of the immune system. In this study, we compared genes expressed in thymus of neonatal and peripubertal rats using annealing control primers (ACPs)-based GeneFishing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and semiquantitative reverse transcription (RT)-PCR. We identified 10 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) with 20 ACPs. Of 10 DEGs, bystin-like, collagen type V alpha 1 (COL5A1), and T-cell receptor beta-chain segment 2 (TCRB2) that are related to immune-function were detected in rat thymus. Bystin-like and TCRB2 were up-regulated, while COL5A1 was down-regulated in peripubertal thymus. Semiquantitative RT-PCR confirmed postnatal changes in expression of bystin-like, COL5A1, and TCRB2. These results suggest that bystin-like, COL5A1, and TCRB2 could regulate immune function controlled in thymus as age increases.

<P>A temperature gradient of 75–188 K was developed in a Ti–45Ni–5Cu(at %) alloy wire with 30 mm length by Joule heating, depending on electrical power. The shape change rate increased from 0.022 to 0.045% K−1 on increasing the electrical power from 4.8 to 6.2 W. The change in the stress required for the B2–B19′ transformation increased from 60 to 103 MPa on increasing the electrical power from 4.8 to 10.1 W.</P>
Review of the Genus Hypsicera (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Metopiinae) from South Korea
Gyu-Won Kang,Jin-Kyung Choi,Kyong-In Suh,Jong-Wook Lee 한국동물분류학회 2016 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.32 No.3
Hypsicera has been reported six species from South Korea. In this study, we reviewed 13 species of South Korean Hypsicera including seven newly recorded species from South Korea. Female of H. brevicornis and H. nigribasis are reported for the first time from South Korea since first record. Additionally, H. incarinata and H. yoshimoboi are reported new to China. We provide diagnoses of six newly recorded species and descriptions of two new females. We also provide photographs of key characters of seven newly recorded species and a key to 13 species of South Korean Hypsicera.

Four fucosterol derivatives were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction of Hizikia fusiformis. The chemical structures of the sterols were elucidated as fucosterol (1), a mixture of 24R,28R- and 24S,28R-epoxy-24-ethylcholesterol at the ratio of 3 to 2 (2), and 24R-saringosterol (3), all of which exhibited proliferation activity on MG63 cells.
Real-Time Safety Driving Assistance System Based on a Smartphone
Kang, Joon-Gyu,Kim, Yoo-Won,Jun, Moon-Seog 한국컴퓨터정보학회 2017 韓國컴퓨터情報學會論文誌 Vol.22 No.8
In this paper, we propose a method which implements warning to drivers through real-time analysis of risky and unexpected driver and vehicle behavior using only a smartphone without using data from digital tachograph and vehicle internal sensors. We performed the evaluation of our system that demonstrates the effectiveness and usefulness of our method for risky and unexpected driver and vehicle behavior using three information such as vehicle speed, azimuth and GPS data which are acquired from a smartphone sensors. We confirmed the results and developed the smartphone application for validate and conducted simulation using actual driving data. This novel functionality of the smartphone application enhances drivers' situational awareness, increasing safety and effectiveness of driving.
