      • HID 램프용 디지털제어 전자식 안정기에 관한 연구

        In this paper, digitally controlled electronic ballast for the HID lamps driven by proposed frequency conversion method is described. This electronic ballast consists of a buck converter, a low frequency square wave full bridge inverter, a high voltage pulse generator for the lamp ignition, an over current protection circuit and an 8-bit microcontroller. The fuzzy logic digital control operation is carried out by the 8-bit microcontroller. In spite of the limited control bandwidth caused by low operation speed of the 8-bit microcontroller, the good control performance for the constant lamp current in the warm-up period is obtained using the proposed frequency conversion driving method. The HID lamp is controlled in a constant current mode during the lighting warm up process and is controlled in a constant power mode during lighting steady state. A controlled variable power mode is used to extend the lamp lifetime.

        This paper attempts to review and trace back to, based on the data collected during visits of Japanese universities and research institutes, the organizational characteristics, the structures of curricula and study trends, with regard to the fields of social sciences, especially economics and business administration. One of the most conspicuous characteristics observed in academic organizations was Tsukuba university's system whose academic institution was organized around academic grouping, academic genealogy, and specialty: particularly social economic planning belonged to the genealogy of social engineering, in light of its characteristics in term of curriculum, seems to meet the contemporary need. There found two speciality areas in the Department of Social Engineering at the Graduate School: one is the concentration on Mathematical Planning and the other Management Engineering. Considering that its academic goal is tosys tematically and empirically analyze the human behaviors, and to take interdi-sci plinary approach through a policy-oriented system in doing so, it reflects one of the true natures of the academic trend. Their curricula appear to emphasize on analytical methods under uncertainty, application of mathematical planning techniques, system simulation, and information system design and its application, in the area of economics and business administration. Physical education is believed to require modernized facilities and equipments for its record-breaking and technical enhancement, and so increased investment in physical facilities and policy considerations for the training of physical educators are necessary.

        Chemical Lumbar Sympathetic Block: Comparison of One- Versus Two-needle Techniques Chul-Jun Mun, M.D., Kyu-Jong Lee, M.D., Sang-Gon Lee, M.D., Jong-Il Kim, M.D.^* Jong-Suk Ban, M.D., and Byung-Woo Min, M.D. Department of Anesthesiology, Fatima Hospital, Daegu, Korea ^*Kim Jong Il Pain Clinic, Daegu, Korea Background: It was frequently noticed in the course of performing a two-needle sympathectomy, that satisfactory spread of contrast solution could be produced by injection through only one of the needles. This led to a closer examination of the merits of single-needle technique. Methods: Forty patients were randomized into two groups. Patients in the single-needle group (n = 20) were injected at the second or third lumbar sympathetic ganglia, while patients in the two-needle group (n = 20) were injected at the second and thired lumbar sympathetic ganglia. Lumbar sympathetic blocks were performed using 3 ml of alcohol and the spread of injectate was verified with C-arm fluoroscopy. The indicators of a successful sympathetic block are increasing skin temperature, decreasing pain, and anhidrosis in the distal extremity. Results: The duration of anhidrosis was 12.2 ?? 2.6 months (mean ?? SD) in the single-needle group versus 13.6 ?? 3.6 months (mean << SD) in the two-needle group. Conclusions: As these results were not significantly different from those obtained in patients having considered to be effective for a neurolytic ;i,bar sympathectomy.         Ropivacaine 을 이용한 경막의 마취시 Clonidine 병용의 효과

        Effects of Clonidine Added to Ropivacaine in Epidural Anesthesia Young-Hoon Cho, M.D., Ji-Hyang Lee, M.D., Sang-Gon Lee, M.D., Jong-Il Kim, M.D.^*, Jong-Suk Ban, M.D., and Byung-Woo Min, M.D. Department of Anesthesiology, Daegu Fatima Hospital, Daegu, Korea ^*Kim Jong Il Pain clinic, Daegu, Korea Background: Clonidine has been regarded as an adequate supplementary anesthetic during epidural anesthesia and has been used with local anesthetics such as bupivacaine or lidocaine to support the effects of these anesthetics. The authors would examine whether clonidine is an adequate supplementary anesthetic when it is used with ropivacaine during epidural ane-sthesia. Methods: Thirty-two healthy patients undergoing a hip or lower limb surgery were diveded into two groups. In group 1, 0.5% ropivacaine 15 ml was administered. In group 2, 0.5% ropivacaine 15 ml combined with clonidine 150 ㎍ was administered. Onset, duration and maximal height of sensory block were assessed. Sedation score, blood pressure and heart rate were measured. Results: Duration of sensory block of group 2 was significantly longer than that of group 1. Sedation score of group 2 was significantly higher than that of group 1. Blood pressure of group 2 was sig-nificantly lower thatn that of group 1 at 50 min, 70 min and 90 min after epidural injection. No significant differences were observed in onset of sensory block and heart rate between the two groups. Conclusions: The addition of clonidine to ropivacaine during epidural anesthesia prolonged duration of sensory block and produced useful sedation. It caused relatively stable hemodynamic changes. These results suggest that clonidine is an adequate supplementary anesthetic when it is used with ropivacaine during epidural anesthesia. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2001; 41: 428~433)

        Until now, systems in financial companies have been constructed and operated based on great mainframe proved being stability. But it has had many disadvantages since they only implement maintenance adding and changing function. So they need construction of new systems(development of critical application, integration of various service channel, management of customer data). In spite of great construction costs and high risk, it is necessary that they construct e-financial system. Nowadays financial institutions must actively offer services to customers. In other words, the key of service is being moved from providers to customers. In oder to develop and sell new products in a timely manner, integrated management about appropriate and valid customer data is needed. And new system that covers expanded area of work is needed since the original parts of the area is being broken gradually. In this paper, we search construction processes of e-financial system of Nonghyup to respond to new financial environment flexibly and actively, concrete contents about innovation activities of e-financial system and the cases of service utilization. Also, we suggest the development direction of e- financial system for Nonghyup following day.         Review of literature on corporate portals, whose main purpose is to provide easy access to enterprise digital information Corporate portals use metadata and eXtensible Markup Language to integrate unstructured data to structured data from enterprise operational databases, supplying access to corporate information through a personalized interface, available over the internal hypertext network-the Intranet A corporate portal functions as a single gateway to all information and knowledge resources in an enterprise. At the beginning, the author describes the improvements in information management, going through different stages-from physical control of information containers to corporate portals. This paper presents definitions, concepts, main components of corporate portal architecture, and different kinds of corporate portals found in specialized literature. The author also points out the potential benefits os this technology to enterprise business.

      • 메탈핼라이드 램프용 저주파 구형파 구동의 퍼지제어 전자식 안정기

        A low frequency square wave driven electronic ballast for metal halide (MH) lamps is developed. The lamp current/wattage is controlled by fuzzy logic controller based on the low cost 8-bit microcontroller. This electronic ballast consists of a buck converter, a low frequency square wave full bridge inverter, a high voltage burst pulse generator using IGBT for the MH lamp ignition, an over-current protection circuit and an 8-bit microcontroller circuit. The ballast system is operated on the constant current mode during the MH lamp start-up process and the system is operated on the constant power mode during steady state. Experimental results show that the fuzzy logic control operation is carried .out successfully by the 8-bit microcontroller PIC16F877. In this electronic ballast system, in spite of the limited control bandwidth caused by low operating speed of the %bit microcontroller, the good performance in the constant lamp current characteristic is obtained. Acoustic resonance of the MH lamps can be effectively avoided because the instantaneous lamp power is fully constant due to the low frequency square wave drive.

        The Portable Internet (WiBro: wireless broadband) is one of the most attractive service areas, which provides technical advantages against current telecommunication systems as well as potential growth to broadband Internet and wireless telecommunications markets. In addition, it will increase market initiatives in the fixed wireless convergence telecommunication market by providing high speed wireless internet services. But the market position of WiBro in Korea differs from that in other countries due to different market structures and distinguished technological characteristics of Portable Ineternet. This article aims to introduce relevant policies and business models in key countries and to describe desirable market position of WiBro by analyzing technological and business characteristics of WiBro and by considering impacts on social welfare and competitiveness of telecommunications market.

      • 데이터웨어하우스의 품질에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 실증적 연구

        The concept of data warehouse (DW) was born with the business needs and the evolution of the IT. In the recent business environment, competition across the border has been intensified with the progress of globalization. Moreover, with the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and the e-commerce developing, the needs for the mass-produced and integrated data storage and improved analytic capabilities have emerged. The enhancement of hardwares such as symmetric multi- processing, massively parallel processing, and parallel database technology help us upload, retain, and have access to the materials in the terabyte-level database. All these changes enable enterprises to analyze the behavior of each customer rather than demographic groups or product family, influencing how enterprises operate their business, especially sales and marketing. DW has its own unique characteristics different from other information systems, but has similarities with them at the same time. The previous literatures related to the implementation of IT suggest that a wide range of implementation factors play an important role in the success of the information system. Unfortunately, however, the empirical studies on the implementation of DW project targeting the domestic enterprises are not sufficient. Accordingly, this study sought to identify main factors that have an impact on the successful implementation of DW through the cross-sectional survey of domestic enterprises. After comprehensively analyzing the previous studies on the implementation factors of the information system and DW to develop the study model, this study verified the assumptions through the survey and offered the implementation of the findings. The purpose of this study is to identify which factors have a positive impact on the quality of DW among organizational characteristics, project characteristics, and technical characteristics which are selected as implementation factors of DW. To do so, this study comprehensively analyze the previous studies on the success factors of the information system and DW to develop the study model and set the assumptions. Then, it verified the assumptions via the empirical analysis after collecting the materials through the survey. Finally, the discussion of the study's results and the provision of the findings followed. To identify the level of the correlation between the quality of DW, a dependent variable, and 10 study variables, it divided these independent variables into three groups ― organizational characteristics, project characteristics, and technical characteristics, then carried out the multiple regression analysis. Going through this process resulted in the verification of study assumptions. Main findings of this study are as follows: First, the more support the CEO provides. the better data and system quality in DW will be. Second, the existence of the project managers who actively support and promote the DW project is not of help to the enhanced data and system quality in DW. Third, enterprise's various resources needed to successively implement DW have nothing to do with the implementation of data and system quality. Fourth, contrary to the general thought that the quality of DW will be enhanced when users actively engage in the implementation process, the involvement of the users is to conducive to the enhanced quality of DW. Fifth, externalities such as the quality of external data and the movement of competitors are contributed to the improvement of data system quality in DW. Sixth, the assumption, in which the more competent the project team is, the more enhanced the quality in DW will be, was abandoned. Seventh, if consultants provide more support to the DW implementation project, the improvement of data and system quality is achievable in DW. Eighth, the prototyping to implement DW has a little effect on the enhanced data and system quality in DW. Ninth, if the quality level of the underlying system, which provides data to DW, is higher, the quality in DW is positively influenced. Last but not least, the analysis shows that better technology for the DW development is conducive to the data quality in DW but not to the system quality in DW.
