The Role of Facilitating Conditions and User Habits: A Case of Indonesian Online Learning Platform

AMBARWATI, Rita,HARJA, Yuda Dian,THAMRIN, Suyono Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.10

The study examines the role of facilitating conditions and user habits in the use of technology in Online Learning Platform (OLP) in Indonesia. The adoption of online learning, persistence, and learning results in online platforms is essential for ensuring that education technology is implemented and gets as much value as possible. People who use technology and systems will embrace new technologies even more. This quantitative study is based on a survey of 254 respondents, who were active users of the technology, and considers the facilitating conditions and user habits variables. Two research hypotheses were tested using the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling method. Cronbach's Alpha, path coefficient, AVE, R-square, T-test were applied. The results showed that the factors significantly influence the Online Learning Platform technology behavioral intention. This impact is primarily associated with the availability of the resources required to use OLP technology. The availability of these resources includes supporting infrastructures such as widespread Internet access, easy access to mobile devices, and file sizes that affect access speed. The findings of this study suggest that it is necessary to introduce and increase the availability of resources for using OLP technology, and familiarize people with the technology features.

Purpose: The use of e-Samsat services in East Java has not been significant in the amount of use of its services for tax payments as a whole. The purpose of this study is to analyze what factors East Java e-Samsat services practice and the existence of recommendations as a basis for government decisions to improve the quality of East Java e-Samsat services. Research design, data and methodology: Our model hypothesizes that three key factors determine the intention to use e-samsat platform such as: trust, awareness, ease to use. Data collection methods by distributing questionnaires and interviews. Results: The results of the study provide two findings, firstly, Trust, Ease of Use, Awareness directly or indirectly affects the Intention to Use the East Java e-Samsat service for motor vehicle taxpayers. Thus it is essential to pay attention to these three variables in terms of clarity, reliability, and timeliness as a recommendation to improve the quality of East Java e-Samsat services.. Conclusions: The results of this study can be applied and developed in other countries besides Indonesia with the same cultural patterns. Several variables have been measured in previous studies in several Asian continent countries.

Predicting the performance of a desulfurizing bio-filter using an artificial neural network (ANN) model

Reza Salehi,Retno Ambarwati Sigit Lestari 대한환경공학회 2021 Environmental Engineering Research Vol.26 No.6

The aim of this study was to develop a model for predicting the performance of a desulfurizing bio-filter (BF), without requiring prior information about H2S biodegradation kinetics and mechanism. A single hidden layer artificial neural network (ANN) model was developed and validated using the gradient descent backpropagation (GDBP) learning algorithm coupled with a learning rate and a momentum factor. The ANN model inputs were gas flow rate, residence time, and axial position in the BF bed. The removal efficiency of H2S was the model output. Various structures for ANN model, differing in the number of hidden layer neurons, were trained and an early stopping validation technique, the K-fold cross-validation, was used to determine the optimal structure with the best generalization ability. The modeling results showed that there was a good agreement between the experimental data and the predicted values, with a determination coefficient (R2) of 94%. This implies that the ANN model might be an attractive and useful alternative tool for forecasting the performance of desulfurizing BFs.

Forecasting Model of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) Using Backpropagation of Levenberg-Marguardt Method

        Sukono,Betty Subartin,Ambarwati,Herlina Napitupulu,Jumadil Saputra,Yuyun Hidayat 대한산업공학회 2019 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.18 No.3

The GRDP is an important indicator to measure the economic growth of a region so that the GRDP forecast future needs. This paper intends to choose a better method for forecasting the GRDP of Bandung Regency. The method used in this study is the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) time series model and the Backpropagation of Levenberg-Marquardt or Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN) method. To measure the accuracy of forecasting carried out using Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The GRDP data obtained from the Bandung Regency Central Bureau of Statistics, in the years 2010-2016. The results of the analysis using the ARIMA model, obtained ARIMA (0, 1, 1) model, with MAPE of 3.90%. Meanwhile, analysis using Backpropagation of Levenberg-Marquardt obtained FFNN (1, 5, 1) model, with MAPE of 3.88%. Because the MAPE value in the FFNN (1, 5, 1) model is smaller than the MAPE value in the ARIMA (0, 1, 1) model, it can conclude that the Backpropagation of Levenberg-Marquardt method better used in forecasting the GRDP of Bandung Regency.

The Effects of Profitability and Solvability on Stock Prices: Empirical Evidence from Indonesia

        SHOLICHAH, Fatmawati,ASFIAH, Nurul,AMBARWATI, Titiek,WIDAGDO, Bambang,ULFA, Mutia,JIHADI, M. Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.3

This study aims to analyze the effect of the ratio of profitability and solvability (leverage) on the variable stock price, which is mediated (intervening) by the variable dividend policy. Using the financial reports of manufacturing companies in the consumer goods sector, we take profitability data (ROA, ROE, GPM, and NPM), solvability data (DAR, LTDER, and DER), dividend policy (DPR), and stock price (closing price) from 24 companies, which were selected as samples, from 2011 to 2018. Data was analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The results show that profitability, solvability, and dividend policy affect changes in stock prices, respectively. On the other hand, profitability and solvability do not affect dividend policy. The indirect relationship (intervening) is assessed using a single test, resulting in a dividend policy that can intervene in the relationship between profitability and stock prices but cannot mediate the relationship between solvability and stock prices. The implication of this research is to provide knowledge to investors about the importance of knowing the company's financial performance. Companies with good financial performance will easily develop because there are sufficient funds for company operations. By analyzing financial ratios, investors can get signals to decide whether to invest in the company they want.

Do Creativity and Intellectual Capital Matter for SMEs Sustainability? The Role of Competitive Advantage

SRIKALIMAH, Srikalimah,WARDANA, Ludi Wishnu,AMBARWATI, Diana,SHOLIHIN, Ustadus,SHOBIRIN, Rizky Arief,FAJARIAH, Nuraidya,WIBOWO, Agus Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.12

SMEs as an organization to succeed and to be sustainable must have the most essential and strategic capital, namely creativity, competitive advantage, and intellectual capital. This study aims to explore how creativity and intellectual capital determines SMEs' sustainability as well as examine the emerging role of competitive advantage in supporting this relationship. A quantitative method was applied to gain a better understanding of the relationship between variables undergoing Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). This study collected data from 123 SMEs in East Java of Indonesia using an online survey. The approach adopted in this study is a convenience random sampling method, which is widely used in entrepreneurship and SMEs' sustainability research. The findings showed that intellectual capital positively affects both competitive advantage and SMEs' sustainability. Additionally, the result of this study confirms a robust relationship between intellectual capital and SMEs' sustainability. However, partially, creativity failed in explaining SMEs' sustainability. Furthermore, this study confirmed that competitive advantage has successfully mediated both the influence of creativity and intellectual capital to SMEs' sustainability. Although this research only involved participants in East Java, this study can be the first step for relevant research of SMEs' sustainability, in particular, in Indonesia.
