엑셀러레이터(창업기획자)는 시드(Seed) 단계의 초기 창업기업에 지분투자의 방식으로 돈을 투자한 후, 일정 기간 교육 프로그램과 멘토링을 제공하여 후속투자를 유치할 수 있도록 돕는 새로운 유형의 투자 기관이다. 벤처캐피탈(VC)로부터 투자유치에 성공한 스타트업들에 관한 선행연구는 다수 존재하지만, 엑셀러레이터는 업력이 짧아 관련한 선행 연구가 절대적으로 부족하다. 본 연구는 ERIS 모델을 기초로 후속투자 유치에 성공한 5개 스타트업의 성공요인을 파악하여 엑셀러레이터가 투자 의사결정을 할 때 중요하게 고려해야 하는 요인이 무엇인지에 대해 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 5개 스타트업의 대표자를 대상으로 인터뷰를 진행하였고, 실사 자료를 기반으로 질적연구를 진행하였다. 연구결과, 후속투자 유치에 성공한 스타트업의 핵심 요인은 경험 기반 창업, 시장문제 정의 및 해결 능력, 기술 기반 자원, 성장기 산업, 자동화 전략 등으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 ERIS 모델이 엑셀러레이터가 투자를 검토할 때 대상 기업의 성공요인 분석 모델로써 의미가 있음을 확인 및 검증한 것에 그 의미가 있다. An accelerator is a new type of investor that supports getting investments from Venture Capital(VC) by providing education programs and mentoring for a certain period of time with investing seed money to early-stage startups. There are many prior studies of startups that have succeeded in getting investment from VC, but successful models of startups by getting investment from accelerators are hard to find. Based on the ERIS model, this study seeks to identify the success factors of five startups that have succeeded in getting investments from VCs and analyze what factors should be considered important when accelerators make investment decisions. I interviewed representatives of five startups who succeeded in getting investments from VC to study entrepreneur factors of the ERIS model and conducted qualitative research based on due diligence data for analyzing factors of Resource, Industry Environment and Strategy. According to the study, the key factors of successful startups in getting investments from VC are experience-based startups and they have problem definition and resolution capabilities for markets. Their competitiveness is from technology-based resources. They played on growth industries and had automation strategies to improve productivity. This study is significant in confirming and verifying that the ERIS model is meaningful as a success factor analysis model for the target company when the accelerator reviews the investment.
