      • Virtual Engine Sound System에서의 LOW COST SYSTEM 구성방안

        The Market of green car without driving noise is growing and production of VESS(Virtual Engine Sound System) for pedestrian safety is rising. As a result, competition of Parts Suppliers will be strong and Car-Maker will demand cost-down. So, we got to begin research for Low-Cost. In the case of previously developed VESS, Speaker and the controller have been separated the number of Components and working hours increased. And it used highcost/high-quality sound/low efficiency amp so it had to add heatsink. Also, size of sound source was extended to interrupt sound so it used external memory. And it used high cost DSP CHIP to implement sound mixing for gear shift feeling. For this reason, cost competitiveness of previously developed VESS was low. In this thesis, these problems was improved. And we achieved Low-cost as follows. First, we applicate control unit in enclosure of speaker assembly so CASE 1 set, connector 1 set were deleted and working hours was reduced. Second, low-cost/high-efficiency CLASS-D AMP had the problems such as noise, step by step amplification. We improved these problems so Heatsink was deleted and AMP Price reduced to 2/3 than before. Third, we improved interrupt sound and changed size of sound source from 6 second to 1 second so external memory was not used. As a result, VESS that we developed deleted components such as CASE 1 set, Connector 1 SET, DSP CHIP, external memory, heatsink and reduced AMP price to 2/3 than before.
