High Efficiency Active Clamp Forward Converter with Synchronous Switch Controlled ZVS Operation

A new synchronous switch controlled transient current build-up zero voltage switching (TCB-ZVS) forward converter is proposed. The proposed converter is suitable for the low-voltage and high-current applications. The features of the proposed converter are low conduction loss of magnetizing current, no additional circuit for the ZVS operation, high efficiency, high power density and low EMI noise throughout all load conditions.

과학기술위성 3호는 무게 170kg 이하의 과학적 임무를 수행하는 위성이다. 이 위성은 소형위성, 또는 세부적으로 마이크로 위성으로 분류된다. 이러한 소형위성을 위한 발사체는 각 발사체별로 다른 환경적 인터페이스를 가진다. 소형위성들은 일반적으로 다중 발사되기 때문에 적합한 발사체 선정에 제한적이다. 따라서 위성 개발 초기부터, 소형위성은 소형위성 발사체의 환경요건을 고려하여 디자인 되어야한다. 본 논문에서는 소형위성 발사에 적합한 발사체의 환경적 요구사항을 정리하고, 이러한 모든 발사체의 요구조건을 수용할 수 있는 요구조건을 제시 한다. Science and Technology SATellite-3 (STSAT-3) is science purpose satellite which weighs below 170kg. This is classified as small satellite or micro satellite more specifically. The launch vehicles (launchers) for small satellite has their own requirements for environmental interface. Since the small satellites are usually launched with cluster or multiple payloads, the selection option for appropriate launcher is limited. Therefore, the satellite should be designed with the consideration of environmental requirements of these launchers. In this paper, the environmental requirement of most candidated launchers for small satellite is summarized and give satellite environmental requirement to accommodate all launchers requirements.

In this paper, a DCM operated boost integrated single-stage forward-flyback converter is proposed. This proposed converter has high power factor, low harmonic distortion, and tight output regulation. To increase efficiency, zero voltage switching with asymmetrical control is used. This converter also give low voltage stress in switch and this results in low conduction loss with low turn-on resistance.<br/>
New Zero-Voltage-Switching Method for High Efficiency Half-Bridge Converter

This paper proposes a new full ZVS-range asymmetrical half bridge converter. It uses the variable transient current build-up technique with the load variations. The current build-up is accomplished by using the secondary synchronous switch control. Due to the blocking capacitor in secondary side, the voltage applied to leakage inductor varies with the load variations during current build-up period. Therefore, the unnecessary current build-up of leakage inductor current in heavy load condition is prevented and more current build-up in medium and light load condition is achieved for ZVS operation. That is, the variant current build-up with the load variation is accomplished for the ZVS operation. Furthermore, the DC offset of the transformer magnetizing current is also eliminated and the utilization of magnetic core is maximized.
42V 차량용 에너지 관리장치를 위한 양방향 DC/DC 컨버터의 개발

The amount of electric energy used in a vehicle will be increased continuously. The increment of electric power demand causes interest on new higher power system such as 42V Power Net. Furthermore, the necessity for development of energy storage device is highlighted recently. Bidirectional DC/DC Converter is one of the important parts in 42V power system. Therefore, this paper proposes bidirectional Cascade Buck-Boost DC/DC Converter which can satisfies required specifications in 42V power system. The operation principle is described along with simple control method, and experimental results on a 500W prototype are provided.

This paper presents a start-up in-rush current reduction technique of asymmetry half-bridge DC/DC converter for PC power supply. The proposed converter is composed center-tapped half-bridge converter with blocking capacitor. The proposed converter can reduce the severe in-rush current when the proposed converter is power up. The validity of this study is confirmed from the experimental results.
