Recently, the automobile development trend is increasingly demanded for the miniaturization of vehicle components, and the downsizing of torque converter is also needed for increase the fuel efficiency. In addition, the torque converter is required to secure more space due to the additional parts with various functions for improving performance. But fluid performance also must be ensured because miniaturized torus causes in performance degradation at the same time. In this study, new blade’s shape was suggested to improve fluid performance. First, effect of surface improvement was confirmed by CFD analysis of flow path’s simplicity model and the actual effect of torque converter was verified by experiment. As a result, it was confirmed that the performance of the blade surface improvement can be improved even in the miniaturized torus.
