A platooning system is one or more vehicles traveling together as a group with relatively small spacing. It involves interactions among different vehicles, or between vehicles and the roadway infrastructure. For the realization of a platooning system, it requires wireless communication capability, electromechanical actuators, interface technologies, and so on. In this study, a testbed is developed to verify the function of each module of the platooning system through experiments. In addition, a vehicle longitudinal control algorithm implemented in the testbed to verify the performance of the algorithm. The testbed consists of three scale vehicles and a PC-based remote control station. A microcomputer, ultrasonic sensors for the relative distance measurement, the RF (Radio Frequency) modules for wireless communication, and interface board for data fusion are equipped on each vehicle.<br/>
