본 연구는 물동량이 증대되고 있는 한중항로에서 국적선사가 선복과잉과 중국축의 폐쇄성 및 제도적 장애요인 때문에 당면하고 있는 한중항로의 현황을 진단하고 이 항로를 활성화시킬수 있는 개선방안에 대한 연구이다. 첫째 한·중간 환적물동량의 증가추세가 교역 물동량의 증가추세보다 빠르기 때문에 환적물동량의 비중이 크게 상승하여 향후 한중항로의 컨테이너 물동량 증가에 환적물동량이 큰 영향을 미치게 된 것이다. 중국이 1997년이래 시장경제원리를 도입하는 개방정책을 추진하고 있으나, 중국해운 시장의 폐쇄성과 중국정부의 국기차별 정책 때문에 한중항로 국적선사들이 많은 문제점에 당면하고 있다. 둘째로, 지속적으로 증대되리라고 전망되는 한중항로 수송량의 완성화를 위해서는 무엇보다도 양국관련 선사들은 서로의 이익을 위해 협력체제를 구축하여 한중항로가 지속적인 발전을 하도록 노력해야 한다. 또한 지속적으로 증가하는 중국의 환적화물 유치를 위하여 씬테이너 터미널시설 확충과 환적화물 처리절차를 허가제에서 신고제를 전환하는 등의 허브항만을 위한 구체적인 정책이 필요하다. The Asia-Pacific countries have been growing economies in the world rapidly. The change of international politics and economic order has resulted in forming regional economic blocks as well as globalization. Korea arid China have maintained strong ties owing to geographical contiguity, cultural similarity, historic relation and the cooperation on industries between Korea and China, have contributed to lots economic development and sharply promoted seaborne trade between the two countries. Korea and China shipping routes are competitive market in which freight rate is very low according to over supplying tonnage and this route is facing on the situation market opening pression is increasing owing to such as WTO/ OECD. but Korea and China governments do not help to Korea and China Shipping Company properly to keep their independent competitive advantage and the world economic trade circumstances has beers changed the role and policy of the government to weakness and meaningless. According to the major research findings resulted from this study, some measures and proposals can be suggested to solve the above problems and promote the competitive power of Korea shipping companies as follows: First, Korean government should try to press Chinese government to open their shipping market through regular shipping conferences between the two countries. Second, Korean shipping companies should try to establish a multimodal transport system, an integrated cargo logistics system, an EDI system and ICD/ CY/ Pier to improve service quality and reduce cargo handling cost in China.
