        As a key part of the steering system, the rack & pinion gear of the gear box functions to convert the rotational motion of the steering column into linear motion. Each automobile manufacturer records its own design method and key factors used to accumulate its own design skills and know-how. On the other hand, the reverse engineering refers to a method of deducing design information, manufacturing process, and test evaluation method from existing products. There are many studies to derive a description of gear design or mathematical relation, but there are few studies suggesting gear design standard or specification by applying reverse design. Therefore, in this study, a method is proposed to derive factors and design criteria to be used in gear design using reverse engineering on the rack & pinion gear. First, the definition and purpose of the rack and pinion gear were considered, and then the target parameters, the design parameters, and the measurable parameters were determined. Also, methods were determined to derive the target parameters. In addition, considerations for measurement and analysis are taken into consideration, and examples and verification of applying the reverse design methodology to actual gears were conducted. As a result, in this study, the analytical method is proposed to reverse the design of the gear used for the gear box and understand the structure of the gear used for the gear box, and the effectiveness of the method can be verified through evaluation and verification.

        수중운동프로그램이 비만 지적장애여성의 CRP, Fibrinogen 및 Adiponectin에 미치는 영향

        This study conducted an aquatic exercise program with obese women with intellectual disabilities for 12 weeks and examined its effects on CRP, fibrinogen, and adiponectin. The results are as follows. First, for a change in CRP, the exercise group showed a significant difference in CRP(p〈.001). It suggested that the aquatic exercise program had a positive effect on the change of a CRP level in obese women with intellectual disabilities. Second, for a change in fibrinogen, the exercise group showed a significant difference in fibrinogen(p〈.001). It suggested that the aquatic exercise program had a positive effect on the change of a fibrinogen level in obese women with intellectual disabilities. Third, for a change in adiponectin, the exercise group showed a significant difference in adiponectin(p〈.001). It suggested that the aquatic exercise program had a positive effect on the change of a adiponectin level in obese women with intellectual disabilities. Based on the findings, it was confirmed that the aquatic exercise program applied to obese women with intellectual disabilities was effective to decrease weight and body fat and the onset of metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular diseases in people with intellectual disabilities who can be easily obese due to restrictive body activity and social involvement and imprudent dietary habits. Moreover, the aquatic exercise program had a positive effect on prevention against obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and life-style related diseases in obese women with intellectual disabilities by decreasing CRP and fibrinogen which is a vascular inflammation marker, and increasing adiponectin which is an inflammation marker manifested in obese cells. The effects of exercise can be increased with people’s active interest and encouragement. Further study should develop exercise programs useful for people with intellectual disabilities. If professional coaches are trained and institutional supports are made for their easy participation in exercise, they can not only enjoy doing exercise, but also undergo mental treatment through the exercise.

        복합운동이 비만 노인여성의 일상생활체력 및 동맥경직도에 미치는 영향

        This study conducted a combined exercise program with obese elderly women for 12 weeks to examine its effects on daily living fitness and arterial stiffness. The subjects were obese elderly women of 65~75 years residing in the Jeonnam area. An exercise program was performed 60 minutes per day, three times per week for 12 weeks. The target heart rate was 60-65%. The conclusions were as follows. First, for changes in daily living fitness before and after the combined exercise, the exercise group showed a significant difference in muscle strength(p<.001), muscle endurance(p<.001), flexibility(p<.01), agility(p<.001), and balance(p<.001). Second, for changes in arterial stiffness before and after the combined exercise, the exercise group showed a significant difference in PWV(p<.001) and ABI(p<.01). Decreased physical activity associated with increased age has negative effects on body composition, daily living fitness, blood lipids, and arterial stiffness. In this sense, this study conducted a combined exercise program with obese elderly women of 65 and over and found its positive effects on all variables in the exercise group. It is true for the elderly to have difficulties in doing continuous exercise because of various exercise programs or differences in facilities and financial power compared with the young. Therefore, if combined exercise programs designed to do everywhere and stimulate the whole body without the burden of facilities, place, or finance are continuously conducted with them, it will help them live daily life more independently and actively and enjoy healthy life. In this regard, further researches should be done more systematically and scientifically on combined exercise programs which showed positive changes in effective aspects of exercise.
