LPG(Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is a type of fuel consisting of hydrocarbon gases in liquid form. LPG fuel for vehicle in domestic market consists of propane, butane and so on. Since LPG Taxi became popular for the use of remaining butane in 1970, domestic market of LPG vehicle has been invigorated by reason of permission for LPG RV and IMF economic crisis. The attention about LPG vehicle is on the rise why new car like the type of LPG hybrid car, LPG small car, bi-Fuel (LPG/gasoline) car releases. The feature of overseas LPG fuel for vehicle is propane content of that is more than propane content of domestic LPG fuel and nations such as Japan, Australia, the USA, India, Europe implement various policy like tax relief for LPG vehicle with the purpose of Reducing CO₂ Emission. The purpose of this paper is to 1) the review about LPG fuel property of vehicle, 2) internal and external technical trend of LPG vehicle, 3) technical problem and the development direction of LPG vehicle which is competitive for export.

LPI Fuel Pump is equipment which is installed inside of cylinder, pressurize LPG fuel 5bar more than saturated vapor pressure to keep liquid phase of LPG throughout Fuel supply system. Installing fuel pump inside of cylinder is more reliable in aspect of fuel supply performance, but cost is expensive and maintenance is poor and dangerous. This paper shows the procedure of optimum design of new LPI fuel supply system which external fuel pump locates on the fuel feed line to improve maintenance quality and reduce cost of system. The purpose of this paper is to make better fuel supply performance of external LPI fuel pump than that of internal LPI fuel pump using Robust Design Method .
