Over the past years, many research works have been carried out to investigate the factors which govern the performance of diesel engine. The area of study has been focused on reducing NOχ Soot from diesel exhaust gas, because of the trade-off relations between these two components. One of the efforts is developing EGR technology to reduce NOχ emission. That is very effective in reducing NOχ but makes other emissions and economy worse.<br/> As an alternative way. the technology using EGR with micro-explosion effects is introduced and tested in this work. In order to supply water vapor into a combustion chamber, employed is Scrubber system which sprays water on recirculating gas. The results showed a tendency of reducing both NOχ and soot simultaneously.<br/>

Exhaust Gas Recirculation System is an efficient method for reducing NOx emission from diesel engines and it is cost effective both in installations and its performances. On the other hand, it has demonits such as increasing wear on the engine components, staining the intake system and deteriorating the engine system oil due to the inclusions of soots in the recirculating gas. In order to solve those problems, the experiments are carried out with the diesel engine of two cylinders, 12ps×1800rpm employing a proper filtering device so called scrubber in way of gas recirculating system. From the experimenis, the NOx reduction is found to be significant, and the emission characteristics jf soot showed a tendency of suppression which is thought to be due to the cooled and damped recirculting gas affected by scrubber.<br/>

Over the past years, many research works have been carried out to investigate the factors governing the performance of diesel, engine. The area of study has been focused on reducing NOx and soot, because there are many difficulties to reduce both at once in diesel engine. One of the efforts is developing EGR technology to reduce NOx emission. That is very effective on reducing NOx, but increases other emissions and makes economy worse. In order to solve the problem, EGR is employed with water emulsified fuel and tested in this experimental study. Emusified fuel is produced by centrifugal mixer and the amount of water is controlled by water injector and pulse generator. The results show that both NOx and smke emissions are reduced with a great degree simultaneously.
