This study measured and analyzed the wave formation and damage degree of the permanent (perm) wave hair which had been permed virgin hair with L-cysteine (C) or thioglycolic acid (T) and irradiated to UVB (306 nm) at an interval of four hours up to sixteen hours. In case of both C and T perm, their circularity degree of wave deteriorated all together in proportion to the irradiation time to UVB (p/0.001). The continuance rate sharply decreased up to eight hours after irradiation, but after that, it slowed down. The scales of hair surface began to be damaged severely eight hours after irradiation to UVB in C and T perm, but the damage degree of T perm was greater than that of C perm. The load limitation, tensile strength and resilience rate gradually decreased according to the irradiation time to UVB and the elongation rate continued to increase, but there was little difference between perm agents. In addition, the effect of interaction between perm agents and UV irradiation time was significant on the wave formation and physical damage degree (p/0.05). According to irradiation time of UVB, the correlation between the resilience rate with wave circularity degree and continuance rate was very high and the resilience rate also showed a strong correlation with wave diameter, load limitation, tensile strength and elongation rate (p/0.001). In conclusion, when the perm hair was irradiated to UVB for over eight hours, its wave formation and damage degree showed the greatest change.

This study aims to determine the effects of UV types on permed hair. According to an analysis of changes in wave continuance by the type of perm agent and UV type, hair shape and physical properties when UV rays (A, B and C) with different wavelength were applied to permed hair, the wave continuance degree by UV irradiation further declined in UVB and UVC irradiations compared to UVA in 'C' perm. In 'T' perm, UVA was the lowest, followed by UVB and UVC in terms of wave continuance degree. The physical properties were significantly lower in UVC irradiation than UVA and UVB irradiations in perm agents. However, the damage rate in 'T' perm was greater in UVB and UVC irradiations than in UVA. According to an analysis of the type of perm agent and UV type, UVA was the lowest, followed by UVB and UVC in terms of wave continuance and hair physical properties, while elongation rate was the lowest in UVC irradiation rather than in UVA and UVB. According to an analysis of scales on the hair surface, the damage degree of the hair surface in 'T' perm agent under UVC irradiation was particularly high. The wave continuance degree and physical hair properties by the type of perm agent were significantly decreased in 'T' perm agent, more so than 'C' perm agent. In summation, both the type of perm agent, UV irradiation time and UV type had a considerable effect on wave continuance and hair physical properties. Specifically, 'T' perm agent and UVC had the biggest effect on wave continuance degree and hair damage degree.

This research surveyed 426 single women, potential purchaser of the wedding dress who live in Kyonggi-do and Chungcheong-do, ages between early 20s and late 30s. The wedding dress selection behavior and the preference for image and fabrics based on different silhouette were studied. The data analysis of the factor analysis, x² and Pearson"s correlation were performed using the SPSS/WIN 10.0. The result of this study as follows. For the selection of the wedding dress, many preferred the rental of the customized dresses at the dress specialty shops at the price ranging from 500,000 to 800,000 won. Most women obtained the information on the dresses from the magazines. There was a difference in the preferred dress type, purchasing place, use of available information and price of the dress according to age, education and income level. Through such research, I am going to propose marketing suggestion to the companies in the wedding business. They have to consider a society population trait about the consumer behavior of the wedding dress selection, and need various market segmentation based on the age, education and economic level. They must establish the distinct marketing strategies for each market. The consumers" economic level must be considered in sales of the dress. The expensive dress should be of higher quality while making available the mid- to lower priced dresses. They must provide the wide selection of the dress while continuing to improve to meet the consumer needs of the better design and comfort of the dress.

Modern fashion, apart from pure arts, does not come into being without regarding the tradition. And it is not easy to create a new style while disregarding an old one. As the change of fashion is closely related with the social changes of the time, the influential trend or spirit of the time becomes an important motif in the current of modern fashion, and the fashion items of the past are often expressed in the form of new style. Since the 1990s the ‘outerwearization’ of the undergarment has taken a remarkable position in the current of modern fashion. Among the undergarment, particularly, the corset has played an important role in expressing the physical beauty of the wearer by emphasizing and/or changing the characteristics of body line. Therefore, this study aimed at examining the symbolism and the expression of corset in the modern fashion. As a research, the works of Roberto Cavalli from 2003 Milano Collection were reviewed from this point, and the symbolism and the expression of corset in the modern fashion could be explained with cultural phenomena like eroticism, fetishism, feminism, deconstructionism and expressionism.

This study was carried out to evaluate the protective effects of sunscreen treatment to dyed hair against ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation. Emulsion-type (E) or mist-type (M) sunscreen was applied to dyed hair (DH) and bleached & dyed hair (B/ DH), before irradiation with UVB. Then, changes in physical property and color of hair were measured. In the M hair group, B/DH was lower than DH in tensile strength. In both E and M groups, B/DH was lower than DH in elongation rate and frictional force. In damage rate, B/DH was greater than DH. In scanning electron microscopic images of hair cuticle surface, the cuticle in E hair was more stable than M hair and scale damage in M hair was greater than E hair. In L*, a* and b*, B/DH was greater than DH in both E and M groups. In ΔE, DH was greater than B/DH in both groups. These results indicated that as the duration of UV irradiation increased, tensile strength, elongation rate and frictional force declined while damage rate increased, causing discoloration regardless of the type of sunscreen. To reduce physical damage of dyed hair, E-type sunscreen should be used. However, to best maintain hair color, it is preferable to use M-type sunscreen.
