This paper focus on investigating the influence of the amount of water inflow and the engine speed on the joint reaction force of the connecting rod in engine. A connecting rod was modelled by MSC/PATRAN. the modal informations of it were obtained by the DMAP module in the MSC/ NASTRAN. and the dynamic force history was computed through the flexible multibody dynamic simulation in DADS.<br/> To analyze the dynamic force acting on the connecting rod. the 21 cases were investigated. The engine speed varies with 1000. 2400. and 4000rpm, and the volumetric ratio of water to the combustion chamber with 0. 40. 70. 90. 100. 150. and 200%. This study shows that if the amount of water inflow exceeds the volume of the combustion chamber, the connecting rod fractures and that in case of diesel engine with larger compression ratio than that of gasoline engine the amount of water inflow has a considerable influence on the stress state of a connecting rod<br/>

In this study, the belt of the tire which is regarded as 2-Ply laminates composite. have been performed with the 3 dimensional FE(Finite Element) analysis, and it is considered of the result of shear stress and strain. This results have compared with the result of CLT(Classical Laminate Theory), and interlaminar shear strain in width direction has compared with the expressions of the Kelsey' s theory.<br/> In the analysis, the modeling of the cord hasn't been carried out with the fine element and rubber is assumed as linear elastic material. The cord-surrounding region is assumed as the orthotropic material composed of cord and rubber. the analysis has performed with 3 dimensional finite element<br/> In conclusion, it's known that imterlaminar shear strain which causes the interlaminar delamination the has the large value in the edge region of the laminates

In OBD-Ⅱ system, the development of misfire detection technique is one of the most important item since misfire increases emission considerably and damage catalyst system. So misfire monitoring requirement in OBD-Ⅱ regulation is very severe. But many. car manufacturers fulfill this requirement in a very complicated manner that detects the variation of angular velocity of crankshaft. As another method of misfire detection. in this study, the signal variation of wide range O₂ sensor when engine misfire occurs, was investigated. And additionally, the effect of engine operating condition. sensor position and sensor response time on sensor signal variation was also investigated. And the possibility for misfire detection and identification of misfiring cylinder was confirmed up to 5000rpm.<br/>
