다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this thesis I kept an eye on the imagination of Lee, Chung-Jun's novel. To begin with, in Chapter Ⅱ Ⅰ classified his texts based on the factors of imagination which displayed themselves by analyzing the narration structure of the works, and then investigated the essence or the aspect of embodying the meaning of those.
A group of Lee's works based on the imagination of a sort of dialogue reveal their qualities through the strategy of narration that is multiplicity of frame structure of those. Especially his strategy of multiple conversation deepens and enlarges the meaning network of the texts by means of constructing both the dept and the width of the point of view in his works.
In the group of his works based on the mythological imagination, are there 「Yiodo」(이어도), 「Supyurnje」(서편제), 「The Light of the Sound」(소리의 빛), 「The Wanderer in Sunhakdong」(선학동 나그네), etc. The strategy of narration of this group of works is repeating and circulating the small units of the same types. I inspected that the units owned the same function are reappearing repeatedly, constructing the sphere of the sound beyond the external story, and subliming into the mythological dimension.
The representative work of the group basic on the historic imagination is 「The Heaven of Yours」(당신들의 천국). The statue of Ju, Jung-Su in the days of Colony can be read as implying against not only that time but also the the social situation of 1960's to be the background of the work, or the downward develope by military dictatorship of 1970's when the text is being written. In this thesis I inspected the meaning of the heaven' through the relationship of the ruler and the ruled person in the point of view rather in the basic stage of narration than the political stage.
Lee, Chung-Jun is not a postmodernist, but his novels involves the strategy of narration in a sort of postmodernism. I inspected the postmodernic aspect through the property of mutual text and meta-fiction in the core control factor of the postmodernism. Lee's property of mutual text shows the quality of the individual property of mutual text'.
His property of the mutual text is closely connected with his own original experience. It is possible to classify his original experience as the experience of hunger', the experience of flashlight', the experience of murmuring' etc. These original experiences repeated in many texts through the property of mutual text, and becomes Lee's philosophical foundation of understanding the world.
The property of self-reflection to be involved in the postmodernism is most clearly appeared in the meta-fiction. It is not to revive or reflect another world existed in out of the text but to reflect the text itself. So meta-fiction indicates the novel treating the course itself of creating with the important subject.
The world of Lee, Chung-Jun's works is various. And his point of view puts together both the width and the depth. His fore-running intelligence can be confirmed in the point of view that especially important concepts of postmodernism to be regularized even in the Europe at around the end of 60's are used as the strategy of narration in his works in the same time.
