The purpose of this study was examine to the study of serum LDH isozymes following different middle distance and long distance competition. The subjects for this study were twenty-four middle and long distance runners who participated in this experiment voluntarily and didn't have any disease. A basal blood sample was extracted prior to the race and four further extractions were made immediately after the race, as well as at 1 and a 3h and a final 6h after the end of the race(800M, 1,500M, 5,000M, 10,000M). The activities of serum LDH1, LDH2, LDH3, LDH4, LDH5 were measured.
The analysis of data revealed the following findings.
1. There were no significant difference in LDH1 among four groups but significantly difference(p<0.001) among time following pre-race, post-race, recovery 1h, recovery 3h, recovery 6h.
2. There were no significant differences in LDH2 among four groups but significantly difference(p<0.001) among time following pre-race, post-race, recovery 1h, recovery 3h, recovery 6h.
3. There were no significant difference in LDH3 among four groups but significantly difference(p<0.001) among time following pre-race, post-race, recovery 1h, recovery 3h, recovery 6h.
4. There were significant difference(p<0.05) in LDH4 among four groups but significantly difference(p<0.001) among time following pre-race, post-race, recovery 1h, recovery 3h, recovery 6h.
5. There were significant differences(p<0.01) in LDH5 among four groups but significantly difference(p<0.001) among time following pre-race, post-race, recovery 1h, recovery 3h, recovery 6h.
