군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 인간상 형성에 미치는 영향 연구 = (A) study about the influence of the educational experience in the military life on the developing of human image

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 바람직한 인간상 형성에 미치는 영향에 대한 요구분석을 통하여 군대의 교육적 과제를 도출하는데 근본 목적이 있으며, 구체적인 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 교육에서 추구하는 인간상에 대한 자신의 형성수준 인식도와 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 그 수준에 기여한 영향정도를 분석한다.
둘째, 교육에서 추구하는 인간상에 대한 자신의 형성수준 인식도와 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 그 수준에 기여한 영향정도가 각 배경변인에 따라 차이가 있는가를 분석한다.
셋째, 교육에서 추구하는 인간상에 대한 자신의 형성수준 인식도와 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 그 수준에 기여한 영향정도와의 상관관계를 분석한다.
이 연구문제를 위하여 예비역과 현역을 조사 모집단으로 하여 연구자가 개발한 설문지를 사용하였으며, 요인분석, 신뢰성 분석, 상관분석, 기술통계, 집단간 차이검정 등을 실시하였다.
군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 인간상 형성에 미치는 영향에 대한 요구분석결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 자신이 인식하는 인간상 형성수준은 개성추구 영역, 공동체 발전공헌 영역, 창의적 능력발휘 영역, 가치창조 영역, 그리고 진로개척 영역의 순으로 높게 나타났다. 자신의 인간상 형성에 군대의 영향을 가장 높게 받은 영역은 공동체 발전공헌 영역이었으며, 반대로 군대의 영향을 가장 낮게 받은 영역은 진로개척 영역으로 나타났다.
구체적으로 각 영역의 덕목별 실태분석 결과는 다음과 같다.
전인적 성장의 기반 위에 개성을 추구하는 사람 영역의 솔선수범 덕목과 자립심 덕목은 군에서의 경험이 자신의 인간상 형성에 많은 영향을 끼친 것으로 나타났지만, 취미생활 덕목, 개척정신 덕목, 그리고 경쟁심 덕목은 다른 덕목에 비하여 군대의 영향을 크게 받지 않은 것으로 나타났다.
기초능력을 토대로 창의적인 능력을 발휘하는 사람 영역에 있어서 자신의 타인배려 덕목과 인생목표제시 덕목에 대한 인간상 형성의 많은 부분을 군대의 영향으로 보고 있는 것으로 나타났지만, 언어소통 덕목은 군의 역할이 저조한 것으로 나타났다.
폭넓은 교양을 바탕으로 진로를 개척하는 사람 영역에 있어서 여가선용, 근검절약, 자연보호개발, 그리고 정보활용 덕목은 군에서의 경험이 그 덕목에 대한 자신의 인간상 형성에 높은 비율의 영향을 끼친 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 직업선택과 직업기술 덕목은 군대의 영향비율이 높지 않은 것으로 나타났다.
우리 문화에 대한 이해의 토대 위에 새로운 가치를 창조하는 사람 영역에 있어서 종교이해, 비판정신, 그리고 역사의식 덕목에서 군대의 영향이 자신의 인간상 형성에 많은 부분을 차지한 것으로 나타났지만, 외국문화이해 덕목과 예술이해 덕목은 군대의 영향력이 낮은 것으로 나타났다.
민주시민의식을 기초로 공동체의 발전에 공헌하는 사람 영역의 모든 덕목은 자신의 인간상 형성에 군 생활 경험의 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 교육에서 추구하는 인간상에 대한 자신의 인간상 형성수준과 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 그 수준에 기여한 정도, 그리고 군대의 기여율에 대하여 각 배경변인에 따라 대부분 통계적으로 의미 있는 차이가 나타났다.
신분별 차이검정에서는 현역이 예비역보다 자신의 인간상 형성에 군대의 기여도가 높다고 보고 있으며, 육군, 해군, 그리고 공군 집단간의 차이검정의 창의적 능력발휘 영역은 육군이 공군보다, 가치창조 영역은 해군이 공군보다 자신의 인간상 형성에 군에서의 교육적 경험이 크게 기여를 했다고 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
계급별 차이검정의 전 영역에서 부사관 집단이 군대의 영향을 가장 많이 받은 것으로 나타났으며, 전투, 기술, 행정, 그리고 특수 병과간 차이검정의 전 영역에서 전투병과가 자신의 인간상 형성에 군 생활이 높은 기여를 한 것으로 나타났다.
부양가족 유무별 차이검정의 개성추구 영역과 창의적 능력발휘 영역에서 부양가족이 없는 집단이 군 생활의 기여를 높게 인식하는 것으로 나타났으며, 연령별 차이검정의 모든 영역에서 20대 집단이 자신의 인간상 형성에 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 많은 영향을 끼친 것으로 나타났다.
성장지별 차이검정의 전 영역에서 중소도시에서 성장한 집단이 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 자신의 인간상 형성에 많은 영향을 주었다고 인식하고 있으며, 학력이 고졸이하, 대학재학, 그리고 대졸이상 집단간의 차이검정의 전 영역에서 고졸 집단이 군대의 영향을 크게 받은 것으로 나타났다.
생활수준별 차이검정 결과, 생활수준이 높은 집단은 자신의 인간상 수준이 높다고 인식하고 있는데 그 인간상 형성에 군대의 영향정도는 매우 낮은 것으로 인식하고 있다. 그러나 생활수준이 비교적 낮은 집단은 자신의 인간상 수준을 낮게 인식하는 반면에 군대의 기여 정도가 매우 높은 것으로 인식 하고 있다.
셋째, 교육에서 추구하는 인간상의 모든 영역에 있어서 자신의 인간상 수준에 대한 인식도와 자신의 인간상 형성에 영향을 준 군대의 기여에 대한 인식정도 사이에 매우 높은 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
이 연구결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 결론을 내릴 수 있었다.
첫째, 인간상 형성에 많은 영향을 끼친 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험, 즉, 민주시민의식을 기초로 공동체의 발전에 공헌하는 사람영역과 솔선수범, 자립심, 타인배려, 인생목표제시, 여가선용, 근검절약, 자연보호개발, 정보활용, 종교이해, 비판정신, 그리고 역사의식 덕목에 대해서는 앞으로 이 사회를 이끌어갈 젊은이들의 바람직한 인간상 형성에 좀더 많은 기여를 할 수 있도록 교육훈련에 대한 관심과 노력이 계속적으로 있어야 할 것이다. 반면에 인간상 형성에 크게 기여를 하지 못한 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험, 즉, 폭넓은 교양을 바탕으로 진로를 개척하는 사람영역과 취미생활, 개척정신, 경쟁심, 언어소통, 직업선택, 직업기술, 외국문화이해, 그리고 예술이해 덕목에 대해서는 관련 교육과정 개선 등을 통하여 군 생활의 교육적 경험이 청년기에 있는 젊은이들의 바람직한 인간상 형성에 기여할 수 있도록 군대의 배려가 필요하다.
둘째, 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 인간상 형성에 미치는 영향정도에는 군 생활 경험이 있는 사람들의 신분, 계급, 병과, 부양가족, 연령, 성장지, 그리고 학력과 같은 변인들이 의미 있는 작용을 한다. 반면, 소속 군과 생활수준 변인은 영역에 따라 다소 영향을 미친다. 이에 따라서 군은 바람직한 인간상 형성을 위하여 신분, 직책, 병과, 그리고 학력 등을 고려한 국방교육정책의 재정립은 물론, 교육과정의 개선을 통하여 군 생활에서의 교육훈련 경험이 사회와 연계될 수 있도록 통합적인 프로그램을 개발하여 국민교육 도장으로서의 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 해야할 것이다.
셋째, 자신의 인간상 수준에 대한 인식과 군대의 기여정도에 대한 인식 사이에는 밀접한 정적상관이 있다. 즉, 군 생활에서의 교육적 경험이 청년기에 있는 장병들의 인간상 형성에 많은 영향을 끼치고 있음을 의미하며, 이는 곧 바람직한 인간상 형성을 위하여 군대의 역할이 매우 중요함을 의미하는 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to extract educational tasks for the military force through the demand analysis of the influence that the educational experience in the military life have on the developing of a desirable human image. Following are the specific research objects.
1. This study analyze the degree of a person's perception toward the level of developing of a human image pursued in education in general, while analyzing the degree to which the educational experience in the military life exerted influence on such level.
2. This study analyze whether there is a difference in such degree according to each background variable.
3. Is there any correlation between the degree of a person's perception toward the level of developing of a human image pursued in education in general and the degree to which the educational experience in the military life exerted influence on such level?
For these research objects, reserves and soldiers on service have been collected as research groups, and surveys developed by the researcher have been used. Performed were analysis of factors, analysis of reliability, analysis of correlation, technical statistics, review of differences between groups.
Following are the results :
1. The personally perceived level of developing of a human image can be described in the descending order of the areas of pursuit of individuality, contribution to the improvement of a community, utilization of creative capability and development of a personal path. The area that has been most influenced by the military was that of contribution to the improvement of a community, and on the contrary, the area with the least influence exerted was that of developing a personal path.
Following are the actual results of analysis on the virtues of each area in more specific terms.
In terms of the virtue of setting an example and the spirit of independence, which belong to the area of a person that pursues individuality on the foundation of well-rounded growth, the experiences in the military appear to have influenced much on the developing of a person's human image.
In terms of the area of a person that exerts his creative capability on the foundation of fundamental abilities, it has been shown that the military influences much of the developing of a human image toward the virtues of care for others and establishment of a lifetime goal. But the military has been shown to play the least role in the virtue of communication.
In terms of the area of a person that pioneers in his own path on the foundation of broad cultivation, it has been shown that the experiences in the military exert proportionally high influence on the developing of a human image toward the virtues of utilization of leisure, frugality, development and reservation of natural environment and the utilization of information. On the other hand, the military did not play a proportionally important role in the virtues of selection of and skills for a job.
In the area of a person that creates new values on the foundation of the understanding of his own culture, the experiences in the military were shown to influence much of the development of a human image toward understanding of a religion, critical attitude and perception of history. The military, however, played a small roll in the virtues of understanding of art and foreign culture.
In the area of a person that contributes to the development of his community on the foundation of democratic awareness, it has been shown that the military plays a large role in the development of a human image toward all of the related virtues.
2. There were meaningful differences found statistically in most cases according to each background variable, that is, in terms of the level of development of a person's perception toward a human image pursued in education in general, the degree to which the educational experiences in the life contributed to such level, and the rate of contribution by the military.
In the review of differences between status, soldiers on service believed more than reserves did that the military high contributed to the development of their human image. In the review of differences between the groups of army, navy and air force, it has been shown that the army perceived the educational experiences in the military as contributing to the development of a human image more than the air force did in the area of utilization of creative capability, while the navy did more than the air force did in the area of creation of values.
In the review of differences by each rank, adjutant officers were shown to receive most influence from the military in all areas. In the review of differences among battles, skills, administration and special branches, the military life has been shown to contribute highly to the development of a human image in the area of the special branches.
In the review of differences between soldiers with and without dependent families, the group without such families perceived the contribution of the military life higher in the areas of pursuit of individuality and utilization of creative capability. In the review of differences between ages, the educational experiences in the military life have been shown to greatly influence the development of a human image for the group in twenties in all areas.
In the review of differences between regions of growth, the group that had grown up in middle- and small-sized cities perceived the educational experiences in the military life as having greatly influenced their human image in all areas. In the review of differences between groups that had graduated from college, were currently enrolled in college or had not finished high school, the group that had graduated from only high school were shown to receive much influence from the military.
In the review of differences in living standards, the group with high living standards perceived that their level of perception toward a human image was high while thinking that the influence of the military on such perception was very low. But the group with relatively low living standards perceived their human image as low while thinking that the military contributed to it to a high degree.
3. In all the areas related to a human image pursued in education, there has been revealed to be a very high static correlation between the level of perception toward a human image and the degree of perception to which the military contributed to the development of a human image.
Following conclusions can be drawn from these research results.
1. There must be more efforts and care in order to improve the educational training in a way that the young people who are to lead this society may obtain a more desirable human image in terms of the educational experiences in the military life which have greatly influenced the development of a human image, that is, the areas of democratic values, virtue of setting an exemplary act, spirit of independence, care for others, setting a lifetime goal, utilization of leisure, virtue of frugality, development and reservation of natural environment, utilization of information, understanding of religions, critical attitude, perception of history and so on. On the other hand, education courses need to be improved in terms of the educational experiences in the military life that do not contribute much to the development of a human image, that is, the areas of setting a path based on broad cultivation, enjoying a hobby, pioneering spirit, competitive spirit, communication, selection of a job, skills for a job, understanding of foreign cultures and understanding of art. Such efforts will contribute to young people's development of a desirable human image.
2. Variables such as status, rank, branches, dependent families, age, regions of growth and educational level all play meaningful roles in the influence of the educational experiences in the military life on developing human image. On the other hand, the enrolled arm and the living standards have little influence for each area. Thus, the Ministry of National Defense will have to develop an integrated program that connects the society with the educational experiences in the military life by reestablishing an educational policy with the consideration of status, rank, branches, educational level, etc, and improving the existing educational courses accordingly. Such an integrated program will help the military to play an important educational role for the people of the nation.
3. There is a close static correlation between the perception of the level of a person's human image and the perception of the degree to which the military contributes to it. In other words, this means that the educational experiences in the military life exert great influence on the development of a human image by young soldiers, and this leads to the realization that the role played by the military in developing a desirable human image is very significant.
