The purpose of this study is to develop a Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students and to verify its effects. By applying the Design and Development Research method, a Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students was developed. In the analysis phase, a literature review and analysis related to social emotional capabilities were conducted to analyze the purpose, goals, content, structure, and operation of the program. In the design phase, an Institutional Review Board(IRB) review was conducted, and the content validity was verified through the first expert consultation after composing a draft of the program. In the development phase, a pilot study for the application of the social emotional capabilities support program was conducted, and the overall program composition was finally revised and supplemented through the second expert consultation, leading to the development of a 12-session Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students. In the verification phase, the final program was implemented with 4th to 6th-grade upper elementary school students, with 12 students participating in the experimental group. The 12-session program was conducted twice a week for 50 minutes per session over a total of 6 weeks. Pre- and post-tests using a social emotional capabilities scale were administered to the experimental and comparison groups. To verify the effectiveness, normality and pre-homogeneity tests were conducted, followed by an independent samples t-test to quantitatively analyze the pre- and post-test scores of the experimental and comparison groups. For qualitative data analysis, based on the observation records written in each session, the overall changes in the support of social emotional capabilities and individual observation records for each child were analyzed. The effects of the program are as follows. First, the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students was found to have a positive effect on social emotional capabilities(t=5.141, p=.000). This can be interpreted as the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students significantly improving social emotional capabilities. Second, the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students was found to have a positive effect on somatic-emotional awareness (t=4.627, p=.000). This can be interpreted as the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students significantly improving somatic-emotional awareness. Third, the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students was found to have a positive effect on emotion regulation and inner dialogue(t=3.709, p=.001). This can be interpreted as the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students significantly improving emotion regulation and inner dialogue. Fourth, the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students was found to have a positive effect on empathy and perspective-taking(t=2.477, p=.021). This can be interpreted as the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students significantly improving empathy and perspective-taking. Fifth, the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students was found to have a positive effect on interpersonal sensitivity and ethical responsivity(t=2.538, p=.019). This can be interpreted as the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students significantly improving interpersonal sensitivity and ethical responsivity. Sixth, the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students was found to have a positive effect on civic awareness and social responsibility(t=3.070, p=.006). This can be interpreted as the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students significantly improving civic awareness and social responsibility. Finally, the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students was found to have a positive effect on prosocial engagement(t=3.832, p=.001). This can be interpreted as the Psychomotorik Program for supporting the social emotional capabilities of upper elementary school students significantly improving prosocial engagement.
