[Purpose] The expansion of coworking environments has introduced diverse creative practices, yet conventional models often prioritize collaboration and openness while overlooking the spatial needs of production-based disciplines. Furthermore, research focusing on discipline-specific coworking environments for design disciplines remains limited despite the hybrid nature of these creative practices, which involve both collaborative interaction and production-oriented activities. Therefore, this study investigates how spatial organization within collaboration-oriented and production-oriented coworking environments may inform evidence-based spatial considerations for design discipline-specific coworking spaces through a space syntax analysis approach. [Method] Using a space syntax approach, the research analyses selected case studies through Visual Graph Analysis (VGA), isovist analysis, and metric distance measurements to evaluate visual integration, spatial visibility, and proximity between functional zones. [Results] The findings indicate that coworking environments are configurationally organized through differentiated relationships between collaborative visibility, operational accessibility, circulation hierarchy, and functional adjacency. Collaborative secondary spaces frequently function as visually integrated interaction anchors connecting workspaces and circulation systems, while production-related spaces maintain more controlled visibility and operational clustering to support workflow continuity. The analysis also reveals that support spaces and circulation systems play important roles in organising accessibility and transitional relationships between functional zones within design-oriented coworking environments.[Conclusion] By comparatively examining collaboration-oriented and production-oriented coworking typologies, the study establishes evidence-based spatial considerations related to zoning hierarchy, collaborative visibility, circulation continuity, and operational adjacency for future planning and organization of coworking environments for architecture and furniture design disciplines.
