This study aimed to analyze the relationships among consumer perception, determinants, and product preferences regarding inner perfume, which is increasingly recognized by modern women as a functional feminine care product for cleanliness and hygiene. In particular, by examining how quality and advertising—as sub-factors of the determinants—are associated with product preferences, this study seeks to provide academic baseline data for establishing efficient marketing strategies and product development in the future. For this research, an online survey was conducted from September 6 to September 30, 2022, targeting female consumers in their 20s to 40s. Out of the 550 questionnaires collected, 43 insincere responses (such as duplicate selections, non-responses, or consistent response patterns) deemed insufficient or unreliable were excluded. Consequently, a total of 507 responses (92.2%) were utilized for the final analysis. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS Win v25.0 program to conduct frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and reliability analysis. To verify the influential relationships between variables, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were executed. The statistical significance level was set at p 〈 .05.The research results indicated that the situations where the use of inner perfume was most needed were 'after perceiving the odor of vaginal discharge' (26.4%), followed by 'during menstruation' (22.5%), confirming a high proportion of functional use for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. Consumer perception of inner perfume showed a significant positive (+) correlation with determinants and product preferences, and was found to have a significant impact on brand, quality, and advertising factors among the sub-factors of determinants. However, the price factor did not show a significant effect. In terms of forming product preferences, quality and advertising factors were found to have a relatively more significant impact than brand or price. This suggests that consumers attach greater importance to the practical efficacy of the product and reliable information rather than brand awareness or price competitiveness during the product selection process. In conclusion, this study confirmed that inner perfume is recognized beyond a simple fragrance product as a functional feminine wellness product that combines Y-zone care, cleanliness maintenance, and the desire for self-care. These findings are expected to serve as baseline data for future product development and the formulation of efficient marketing strategies reflecting the needs of female consumers.
