In this study, a highly sensitive and flexible piezoresistive tensile strain sensor based on a three-dimensional porous polyaniline(PANI)/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanocomposite foam was developed. PANI, a conductive polymer with reversible oxidation and reduction properties, exhibits excellent electrical responsiveness to external stimuli. Meanwhile, rGO provides a large specific surface area, high mechanical strength, and outstanding electrical conductivity,
enabling the formation of efficient charge transport pathways. When these two materials are combined, π–π interactions enhance interfacial adhesion, while the stability of the conductive network and structural integrity are improved, thereby increasing both the sensitivity and durability of the sensor. The sensor was fabricated using a nickel foam as a sacrificial template substrate. PANI was uniformly deposited via electrochemical polymerization, followed by dip-coating of rGO to form a three-dimensional PANI/rGO nanocomposite foam. Subsequently, polydimethylsiloxane was infused into the porous network, and the nickel substrate was completely etched away to yield an interconnected three-dimensional porous nanocomposite. The fabricated sensor exhibited stable stretchability
under tensile strains ranging from 0% to 80%, demonstrating excellent electrical and temporal response stability and reliability. The combination of conductive nanomaterials with a flexible polymer matrix enables precise electrical responses to subtle mechanical stimuli. Consequently, this sensor shows great potential as a
next-generation high-performance strain sensor applicable to wearable electronics, biosignal monitoring, human–machine interfaces, and soft robotics.
