비톨드 루토슬라브스키의 《클라리넷과 피아노를 위한 댄스 프렐류드》 (1954) 연구 = An Analytical Study of 《Dance Preludes for Clarinet and Piano》 (1954) by Witold Lutoslawski

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 폴란드의 근현대 작곡가인 비톨드 루토슬라브스키(Witold Lutoslawski, 1913-1994)의《클라리넷과 피아노를 위한 댄스 프렐류드(Dance Preludes for Clarinet and Piano)》(1954)를 중심으로 작품의 음악적 특징과 연주자의 입장에서의 해석을 목적으로 한다. 본 작품은 폴란드 민속음악의 리듬적 요소가 잘 드러나며, 특히 전통적 민속 리듬을 현대적으로 작품에 해석한 것이 가장 큰 특징이다. 연구 방법으로는 작곡가의 시기별 특징 및 음악적 배경과 당시 시대적 배경과 그에 따른 예술에 관한 문헌 연구와 함께 각 악장의 형식과 리듬 분석을 하였다. 분석 결과, 《댄스 프렐류드》는 겉으로는 단순해보이는 소품 형식 속에서도 독특한 리듬 구조와 음색 대비를 통해 생동감 있는 음악적 효과를 보여줌을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 해당 작품에 대한 이해를 돕고, 클라리넷 연주자에게 보다 효과적인 연주 해석의 방향성을 제시하는데 의의가 있다.

This study focuses on Dance Preludes for Clarinet and Piano(1954) by the Polish composer Witold Lutosławski (1913–1994), with the aim of examining the musical characteristics of the work and its interpretation from a performer’s perspective. The piece clearly reflects rhythmic elements of Polish folk music, and its most distinctive feature lies in the modern reinterpretation of traditional folk rhythms.
The research methodology includes a literature review of the composer’s life, musical background, and the historical and artistic context of the period, as well as an analysis of the form and rhythmic structure of each movement. The results of the analysis demonstrate that Dance Preludes, despite its seemingly simple miniature form, achieves vivid musical effects through its unique rhythmic structures and contrasts in timbre.
This study is significant in that it enhances understanding of the work and provides clarinetists with guidance for more effective performance interpretation.
