This study aims to identify the mechanisms through which technostress occurs among public-sector employees and to explore effective organizational strategies for addressing this issue. Drawing on the Job Demands–Resources(JD-R) model, the study examines how job demand factors affect on technostress and investigates whether Perceived Organizational Support(POS) moderates these relationships. Using data from the 7th Korean Working Conditions Survey(2023), the analysis focuses on wage workers in the public sector. Multiple regression analyses were conducted to examine the relationship between job demands and technostress, followed by regression models with interaction terms to test the moderating effects. The results indicate that time pressure, task complexity, and job insecurity significantly increase technostress, while device-use frequency does not have a significant effect. The moderation analysis reveals that perceived organizational support significantly alleviates the negative impact of device-use frequency and task complexity on technostress. However, its interactions with time pressure and job insecurity were not statistically significant. These findings suggest that perceived organizational support functions as a protective factor in situations involving technology use and complex tasks, whereas its buffering effect is limited when dealing with structural and institutional job demands. By extending technostress research to the public sector and applying the Job Demands–Resources model to digital work environments, this study broadens the theoretical and practical scope of technostress research.
