This study begins with the anxiety arising from a sense of disconnection experienced in everyday life and investigates how existence is situated in relation to the world as an entangled field of relations. It examines, through sculptural practice, the structures of relationality step by step, analyzing how the feeling of anxiety is entangled with these relational configurations.
The research first explores the notion of relation through processes of observation, archiving, documentation, and experimentation. Objects found in the streets exist in a state of exception, detached from their original functions and roles, and become interconnected under unintended conditions. Through sustained observation of these phenomena, the study suggests that relations are not artificially constructed but emerge through interactions shaped by conditions such as non-intentionality, temporality, and openness. It also incorporates scientific theories to examine the reality of emotions such as anxiety, indicating that emotional experience is not confined to subjectivity but is linked to the physical operations of the world.
Building on this understanding of relational existence, the study develops a practice of reconstructing and making perceptible relational conditions and entanglements through sculptural work. The principles of non-fixed structure, flexible attitude, and acceptance of potentiality together articulate how objects sustain their relations in sculptural form. By visualizing subtle tensions and movements occurring among objects, time, and environment, the research experientially unfolds how existence maintains itself through relations. This process simultaneously acknowledges the invisible sensation of disconnection and reconfigures it as an alternative mode of stability, seeking forms of reconciliation with instability.
Finally, the study proposes that relations are not simple connections but reciprocal, tension-sustaining, and transformable structures. The exceptional states of objects addressed in the work are not treated as deficiencies or errors, but as natural modes of existence within an entropic world. Feelings of isolation or instability are therefore not signs of an absence of relation but manifestations of the different ways in which relations take shape. Sculptural practice functions as a device for experiencing such relations, allowing instability and fluctuation to be understood as new conditions of stability. In this light, the study reconsiders anxiety not as a state to be eliminated but as a constitutive condition that sustains the continuity of existence, proposing an attitude grounded in the flexible acceptance of uncertainty rather than in its rejection or control.
