This thesis presents a geometry-driven framework for recognizing and reconstructing industrial pipe structures from unstructured 3D point cloud data. The proposed method targets common pipe components, including straight pipes, curved elbows, and junctions, and represents them using explicit parametric primitives. To robustly handle noisy and incomplete point clouds, Gaussian curvature analysis is first employed to segment linear and curved surface regions. Based on this segmentation, type-conditioned RANSAC is used to initialize infinite cylindrical and toroidal primitives. A joint optimization framework is then introduced, in which all primitive parameters are refined simultaneously under soft structural constraints that encode connectivity, tangency, and symmetry relationships between pipe components. Finally, finite geometric extents such as pipe lengths and elbow sweep angles are recovered from inlier point projections. The proposed approach is evaluated on both synthetic datasets with ground-truth parameters and real-world LiDAR scans. Experimental results demonstrate that the method achieves accurate and robust reconstruction across varying point densities and sensor noise, producing compact and physically interpretable models suitable for robotic inspection and manipulation tasks.
