This study examined the relationship between reservation systems in hair salons and customer satisfaction. A survey was conducted from August 5 to August 15, 2025, targeting customers of both franchise and independently operated hair salons in the Daegu region. Data were collected from 236 hair salon customers using a structured questionnaire.
The analysis focused on reservation methods, types of salon operation, visit characteristics, and service satisfaction. The results showed that customers using reservation-based services exhibited overall higher levels of satisfaction compared to those using non-reservation-based services. In particular, the reservation system was identified as a key factor influencing service efficiency, predictability, and perceptions of professionalism in the service experience.
Most respondents primarily used telephone reservations, and the proportion of online reservation usage increased with higher educational attainment. In contrast, differences by gender and age were not statistically significant, indicating that reservation-based operations have become a standardized practice in the hair service consumption process.
Additionally, customers tended to prioritize technical skills, service quality, and treatment reliability over price when selecting a hair salon.
The findings suggest that reservation-based management positively contributes not only to customer satisfaction but also to revisit intention, trust formation, and improvement in service quality. This study empirically confirms that reservation-based operating systems are no longer an optional feature but have become a standard service model in the beauty service industry. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need for further advancement of digital reservation systems and the development of customer experience–oriented service strategies.
