해방을 통한 평화로의 진입 : 누가복음 신학을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 누가복음에 나타나는 평화(εἰρήνη)의 의미를 문화적 배경과 어휘 분석을 통하여 이 용어가 사용된 본문을 주석하여 그 신학적 의미를 파악하여 설명하는 연구이다. 이 연구는 평화의 개념을 단순한 내적 위로나 사회적 이상이라는 대립적 이해를 넘어, 누가복음 본문이 구성하는 신학적 의미 구조를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 구약의 שָׁלוֹם, 고대 그리스 세계의 εἰρήνη, 로마의 평화(Pax Romana) 이데올로기에 관한 여러 주장들을 비교한 결과, 누가복음의 평화는 단일 정의로 고정될 수 없는 다층적 개념임을 확인하였다. 또한 ἄφεσις, ἀφίημι, λυτρόω 등의 구원 관련 어휘 분석을 통해 εἰρήνη가 ‘죄 사함’과 ‘해방’, ‘존재의 회복’이 결합된 현실적 구원을 의미하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 누가의 본문 1:68-79, 4:16-20, 7:36-50, 24:1-49에서 평화란, 인간을 억누르고 있던 죄들과 여러 실체에서의 해방을 전제로 한다. 이는 평화가 인간의 내면에 국한되지 않고, 하나님의 주권적 구원이 실제 역사 속에서 실현되는 방식으로 드러남을 시사한다. ‘한 개인’에게 임하는 평화는 공동체와 열방으로 확장되는 것으로 나타난다. 본 연구는 누가복음의 평화가 하나님 나라의 도래와 구원 사건의 총체적 실재라는 점을 제시하며, 오늘의 교회가 사용하는 평화 개념을 성경적으로 재고하도록 요청하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis examines how the Gospel of Luke constructs and intensifies the meaning of peace (εἰρήνη) by analyzing its cultural background and related vocabulary, along with exegetical investigation of the passages in which the term appears. Moving beyond polarized interpretations that reduce peace to either inner comfort or social idealism, this research seeks to uncover the theological meaning structure that Luke develops within the narrative. A comparison of the Old Testament concept of שָׁלוֹם, the Hellenistic understanding of εἰρήνη, and the Roman ideology of Pax Romana demonstrates that peace in Luke cannot be confined to a single, fixed definition but carries a multilayered theological dimension. Moreover, lexical studies of ἄφεσις, ἀφίημι, and λυτρόω reveal that εἰρήνη signifies concrete salvation characterized by release from sins, liberation from oppressive forces, and the restoration of human existence. In key texts such as Luke 1:68-79, 4:16-20, 7:36-50 and 24:1-49, peace presupposes liberation from sins and from the various realities that bind and subjugate human life. This indicates that peace in Luke is not confined to inner tranquility but becomes manifest when God's sovereign salvation breaks into real history. Peace given to an individual extends to the community and ultimately to the nations. This thesis argues that Luke's concept of peace is the tangible reality of the coming of God's kingdom and the comprehensive saving event, inviting contemporary churches to reexamine their understanding of peace in light of Scripture.
