제안된 구조는 Segment Routing(SR)과 In-band Network Telemetry(INT) 메타데이터를 융합하여 의미 계층(Semantic Layer)과 실행 계층(Operational Layer)을 통합한 Flow Intelligence with SR/INT Augmentation(FISA) 모델로 구현되었다.

Modern network infrastructures have become fundamental enablers of hyper-connected services driven by the rapid expansion of 5G/6G, the Internet of Things(IoT), and cloud computing. While these environments support diverse applications such as smart factories, smart cities, and ultra-reliable low-latency services, they also introduce severe challenges, including traffic heterogeneity, increased latency, packet loss, and frequent violations of Quality of Service(QoS) and Quality of Experience(QoE). Existing Deep Packet Inspection(DPI)-based approaches incur high computational overhead ans privacy constraints, making real-time control and adaptive learning impractical in large-scale networks. Moreover, prior header-based techniques, including Header Space Analysis(HSA), HALO, FlowLens, and TraGe, are effective for policy verification or semantic flow analysis but remain limited in real-time adaptivity, context awareness, and autonomous control.
To address these limitations, this dissertation proposes a header-metadata-driven autonomous network control model that exploits only packet header information. The proposed architecture, termed Flow Intelligence with SR/INT Augmentation(FISA), integrates Segment Routing(SR)-derived path semantics and In-band Network Telemetry(INT)-based performance metadata to unify the semantic layer and the operational control layer. By incorporating incremental learning, FISA enables continuous adaptation to dynamic traffic characteristics and network state transitions, allowing routing paths and control policies to be autonomously adjusted in real time.
The proposed model was implemented and validated using the NS-3 simulator under heterogeneous traffic scenarios, including Ultra-Reliable and Low Latency Communications(URLLC), enhanced Mobile Broadband(eMBB), and Best Effort(BE). Experimental results demonstrate that FISA reduces average end-to-end latency by 18% and packet loss rate by 22%, while improving throughput by 15% compared to a FlowLens-based baseline. In addition, improvements in flow utilization and control efficiency confirm that lightweight header-based intelligence significantly enhances real-time network management without relying on payload inspection.
In conclusion, this dissertation presents a self-learning network architecture based on lightweight header metadata and SR/INT integration. By enabling autonomous network control, adaptive policy verification, and intelligent traffic management, the proposed approach porvieds a practical foundation for future intelligent network operations.
