중국 장편 애니메이션에서의 민족 문화 요소 변형과 재구성 연구 = A Study on the Transformation and Reconstitution of Ethnic Cultural Elements in Chinese Feature Animation

국문 초록 (Abstract)

애니메이션은 문화 전파와 예술 표현이 결합된 복합 매체로서, 그 발전 과정은 항상 문화 요소의 전승과 변혁과 밀접한 관련을 맺고 있다. 본 논문은 중국 장편 애니메이션을 연구 대상으로 삼아, 그 속에 내재된 중국 민족 문화 요소를 중심으로 심층적으로 분석함으로써, 그 구성 논리와 진화 메커니즘 및 시대적 담론 속에서의 재생적 표현 양식을 고찰하고자 한다.
논문은 민족문화 요소의 시각적 기호, 민속 서사, 가치 심리의 세 가지 차원에서 접근하여, 중국 민족문화가 애니메이션 작품 속에서 어떻게 시각화되고, 기호화되며, 재해석되는지를 탐구한다. 전통 애니메이션은 민속 예술 양식과 신화 모티프를 기반으로 독특한 미학 체계와 문화적 이미지를 형성하였으며, 현대적 맥락 속에서 이러한 요소들은 기술적 수단, 서사 구조, 심미 심리의 재구성을 통해 다원성과 현대성이 공존하는 복합적 특징을 드러내고 있다. 문화 요소는 더 이상 내용의 장식적 부속물이 아니라, 캐릭터 설정, 세계관 구축, 관객 심리와의 심층적 상호작용을 이루는 창작의 핵심으로 자리 잡고 있다.
세계적 전파 환경의 변화와 디지털 기술 혁신이 가속화됨에 따라, 중국 장편 애니메이션은 문화 정체성과 국제적 표현이라는 이중 과제에 직면해 있다. 중국의 전통 민족문화 요소가 새로운 미디어 플랫폼과 문화 간 교류 속에서 어떻게 독창성과 생명력을 유지할 수 있을 것인가가 본 연구의 주요 문제의식이다. 민족문화 요소의 재현은 단순히 형식의 재구성이 아니라, 의미의 재건과 문화의 재생산을 수반하는 과정이다. 본 연구는 시각 스타일의 갱신, 민속 이야기의 현대적 번안, 사회 문화의 은유적 표현, 가치관의 재구성 등을 통해 민족문화 요소가 중국 장편 애니메이션 창작에서 핵심적 역할을 수행하고 있음을 제시한다.
논문의 구조는 먼저 민족문화 요소의 이론적 체계를 정리하고, 전통 애니 메이션에서의 고전적 요소 표현을 분석한 후, 현대 애니메이션의 표현 기법과 가치 지향의 혁신적 특성을 논의하며, 마지막으로 향후 애니메이션 발전 방향을 전망한다. 결론에서는 학제적 연구 관점을 결합하여 애니메이션의 문화 요소가 게임, 영화, 교육, 디지털 미디어 등 다양한 장르에서의 응용 가능성을 탐색함으로써, 중국 장편 애니메이션의 창작 실천과 문화 수출에 지속 가능한 이론적 기반을 제공하고자 한다.
마지막으로, 장편 애니메이션은 현대적 서사와 문화 전파 매체로서, 본 연구를 통해 보다 체계적인 시각에서 중국 장편 애니메이션의 문화 요소가 지닌 역사적 변천과 현대적 표현 경로를 규명함으로써, 향후 관련 연구에 새로운 방향을 제시하고, 중국 민족문화의 국제적 확산과 문화 정체성 구축을 위한 다층적 가능성을 제안한다. 또한 본 논문은 거시적 문화 관점과 미시적 텍스트 분석 사이의 연계를 구축함으로써, 중국 애니메이션의 문화 구조를 이해하기 위한 이론적 토대를 제공하고, 중국 민족문화의 현대적 표현과 전파 경로에 대한 학문적 고찰의 방향을 제시한다.

As a hybrid medium combining cultural transmission and artistic expression, animation has always been closely linked to the inheritance and transformation of cultural elements throughout its development. This study takes Chinese feature-length animation as its primary research object, focusing on the in-depth analysis of Chinese ethnic cultural elements embedded within it. The aim is to clarify the structural logic, evolutionary mechanism, and re-expressive modes of these elements within their contemporary contexts.
Approaching from three analytical dimensions—visual symbols, folkloric narratives, and value psychology—this paper investigates how Chinese ethnic culture is visualized, symbolized, and reinterpreted in animation. Traditional animation, rooted in folk art styles and mythological motifs, established a distinctive aesthetic system and cultural imagery. In the contemporary era, these elements have undergone transformation through technological innovation, narrative restructuring, and the reshaping of aesthetic psychology, thereby exhibiting complex characteristics of pluralism and modernity. Cultural elements are no longer merely ornamental components of content but have become the creative core that interacts deeply with character design, world-building, and audience perception.
With the evolution of global communication contexts and the advancement of digital technologies, Chinese feature animation faces the dual challenges of cultural identity and international expression. How to preserve the uniqueness and vitality of traditional Chinese ethnic cultural elements across new media platforms and intercultural exchanges has become a central question of this research. The representation of ethnic cultural elements in animation involves not only the reconstruction of form but also the reconstruction of meaning and the reproduction of culture. This study highlights that the renewal of visual style, the modern reinterpretation of folklore, the metaphorical expression of social culture, and the reshaping of values constitute the core aspects of ethnic cultural elements in Chinese feature animation creation.
Structurally, this dissertation begins with a theoretical review of ethnic cultural elements, followed by an analysis of their expression in traditional animation, and then proceeds to explore the innovative features of contemporary animation in terms of expressive techniques and value orientation. The final section envisions future trends in animation development. The conclusion integrates an interdisciplinary perspective to discuss the potential applications of animation’s cultural elements in multiple domains such as gaming, film, education, and digital communication, aiming to provide sustainable theoretical support for the creative practice and cultural export of Chinese feature animation.
Ultimately, as a modern narrative and medium of cultural transmission, feature-length animation—through this study—is expected to provide a systematic understanding of the historical evolution and contemporary expressions of cultural elements in Chinese animation, offering new directions for future research and expanding possibilities for the international dissemination and identity construction of Chinese ethnic culture. Moreover, this dissertation seeks to establish connections between macro-level cultural perspectives and micro-level textual analyses, thereby offering both a theoretical foundation for understanding the cultural structure of Chinese animation and an academic framework for exploring the contemporary expression and dissemination of Chinese ethnic culture.
