    Systemic Analysis and Modeling of Business Continuity Management and Disaster Response Capabilities in Nursing Organization By Yoo, Keun Hee Department of Nursing Graduate School of Kyung Hee University Directed by Professor Yun, Eun Kyoung, Ph.D. RN Modern healthcare institutions require stable operations and rapid responses, particularly in complex disaster situations. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted vulnerabilities in healthcare systems and underscored the necessity of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) to enhance disaster response capabilities. This study aims to analyze the effects of BCP on strengthening disaster response capabilities in nursing organizations using a System Dynamics approach and propose strategic improvements. Key variables were identified through a literature review and focus group interviews with nursing managers. Causal relationships among these variables were visualized to develop feedback loops, which served as the foundation for building a simulation-based System Dynamics model. Scenario analyses were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of BCP. The results are summarized as follows. 1) Feedback Loop Analysis: Eight critical feedback loops were identified, including bureaucratic decision-making delays, insufficient network governance, and resource management inefficiency. These loops demonstrate circular impacts on disaster response capabilities. 2) BCP Effectiveness: Simulation results showed that when decision-making time was reduced by 6 days, improved resource allocation efficiency by 92.31%, strengthened interdepartmental cooperation, and effectively enhanced disaster response capabilities. 3) Policy Implications: BCP mitigates bureaucratic delays, promotes network collaboration, and ensures timely resource allocation, thereby improving organizational resilience and response effectiveness. This study provides practical strategies for implementing BCP to enhance disaster response capabilities in nursing organizations. The findings serve as a foundation for developing disaster response policies and nursing education programs. Future research should focus on validating the model across various disaster types and organizational settings to ensure broader applicability.
