미디어 리터러시를 활용한 진로독서 프로그램이 고등학생의 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향

The main purpose of this study is check whether the career reading program using media literacy has an effect on career maturity and career development competencies of high school students. To this end, the career reading program using media literacy was organized and applied to the experimental group and the general career reading program to the control group.
The subject of this study is as follows.
Is the career reading program using media literacy effective in improving the career maturity and career development competencies of high school students?
In order to verify the research problem, 52 students in the second grade of J high school in the Suwon of Gyeonggi-do were targeted. The experimental group consisted of a total of 24 students, 21 general students, 1 multicultural student, and 2 students-athlete, and the control group consistedof a total 28 students, 26 general students, 1 multicultural student, and 1 student-athlete. The career reading program was conducted once every week, for a total of 10 weeks, using a career class of high school.
To verify the effectiveness of this study, the career maturity test and career development competencies tests of CareerNet in Korea and both the experimental and control groups performed pre- and post-career maturity tests and career development competencies tests at the same time.
In order to examine the effect between the experimental group and the control group, an independent sample t-test was performed on the difference between the mean before and after the experimental treatment.
As a result of analyzing the difference in career maturity and career development competencies between the experimental group and the control before and after program application, it was found that there was a significant effect in the job planning and career exploration preparation activities of career maturity. The career reading program using media literacy has a significant effect on career exploration preparation activities of career maturity, but it was not statistically significant to check whether it was effective in other sub-factors.
However, on the other hand, the career reading program using media literacy has a significant effect on the career development competencies, and the general career reading program has a significant effect, too.
Since the control group did not have a significant result compared to the experimental group, a result that could be considered that the career reading program using media literacy had a positive effect on career development competencies of high school students was derived.
Although the career reading program using literacy was effective in improving the career development competencies of high school students, and ineffective in improving the career maturity of high school students, the career reading program has a significant effect on career maturity and career development competencies. After completing the program, it was confirmed that general students, multicultural students, and students-athlete had positive responses.
In conclusion,the career reading program is a necessary program for high school students in the future, and various follow-up studies need to be conducted by developing a customized career reading program that reflects the characteristics and needs of various student groups.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 미디어 리터러시를 활용한 진로 독서 프로그램을 고등학교 2학년 학생을 대상으로 적용하여, 해당 프로그램이 진로성숙도 및 진로개발역량에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 경기도 수원시에 소재한 J고등학교 2학년 학생 52명을 대상으로 실험집단과 통제집단을 구성하여 프로그램을 운영하고, 양적 분석을 통해 효과를 검증하였다.
연구 절차는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 학교도서관의 고유 프로그램인 진로독서 북클럽과 로젠블렛(Rosenblatt, 1938/1976)의 독자 반응 이론을 바탕으로 한 질문 중심 독서 프로그램을 기반으로 진로 독서 프로그램을 구성하였다.
둘째, 2025년 4월부터 8월까지 주 1회, 총 10주간 진로독서 프로그램을 실시하였다.
셋째, 프로그램 종료 후 설문조사를 실시하여 프로그램에 대한 반응을 수집하였다.
연구 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 진로독서 프로그램은 고등학생의 진로성숙도 중 ‘계획성’ 및 ‘진로탐색 준비활동’에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 미디어 리터러시를 활용한 진로독서 프로그램은 ‘진로탐색 준비활동’에 특히 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 진로독서 프로그램은 진로개발역량 향상에도 유의미한 효과를 보였다.
넷째, 미디어 리터러시를 활용한 진로독서 프로그램은 진로개발역량에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
다섯째, 미디어 리터러시를 활용한 진로독서 프로그램은 학생들의 정보 해석 능력과 자기표현 능력 강화에도 기여하며, 진로교육의 실천적 접근 방식으로서 교육적 가치를 지닌다.
이러한 연구 결과는 진로 독서 프로그램이 고등학생의 진로성숙도 및 진로개발역량 향상에 효과적임을 시사하며, 향후 진로 교과에서 해당 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영할 필요성을 제기한다.
앞으로 미디어 리터러시 기반 진로 독서 프로그램은 현대 사회의 정보 환경에 적합한 진로교육 방식으로서 지속적인 연구와 개발이 필요하며, 학교 현장에서의 적용 확대를 통해 그 효과를 실증적으로 검증해 나가야 할 것이다.
